  2. sounds great! We're still running steady too. I'm leaving tomorrow for Sandusky,Ohio.
  3. I know exactly what you mean!..and women are the worst-makes me wonder how the hell they get to work every day.Call and ask for directions and women always say "hold on-let me let you talk to Joe in shipping".And Joe usually says something like "f**k you,we quit loading a 3-figger it out,a-hole".
  4. Art Reed's- Montvale,Va. You can look it over when you come down this way.
  5. I suggested to Rob before that he get one of these-
  6. Moore's Country Store is world famous for their chili dogs-they're right on 460, both the original store, closer to Lynchburg, and the one in Spout Spring, between Lynchburg and Concord. http://www.yelp.com/biz/moores-country-store-lynchburg You should come over with Rob,Jay,and David from Raleigh, and ??? and i'll prepare a delicious, yet nutritious, meal on the grill. After a trip to Appomattox would be good, because i'll need a while to cook the boston butt,ribs,chicken,and...uh...who knows, maybe a vegetable. I'm tellin ya, a trip to P.L.Duncan's is almost like going to a museum.Anyone who likes old trucks would enjoy that visit. And as I said, Mr. Duncan is a really nice man and loves to show his trucks to people who are into old trucks. I don't take 501 from here to Raleigh,I take 29 to Danville, then 86 to I-85,then 147 over to I-40. Too many stop lights on 501 getting out of Raleigh-Durham.
  7. The 18 speed is very simple to drive, easy to operate. Think of it as having a 9 speed with a hi-lo in each gear-kinda like having a 2 speed rear. It's like a 13 speed, except you can split the low side too-seldom necessary- except when you're taking off loaded going uphill, then it's sweet! But then again,I just drive it,don't know if I drive it "properly" or not.
  8. You spelt Appomattox wrong. I used to live 6 or 7 miles from the surrender grounds. You need to come by here that day, or sometime, and i'll have some ribs, chicken, boston butt, and bubba burgers on the grill. We could even go to P.L.Duncan's and look at all the many old trucks, mostly Macks, that he has and not buy any-Momma and Nikki would love that. The high's around here lately has been about 73 degrees during the day, dropping down to about 67 at night.
  9. ...and I USED to think I was funny...that's absolutely hilarious!
  10. I don't know about all that,but- I kept seeing and hearing all these commercials for Sam Adams beer and wanted to try it,just to see what beer is supposed to taste like. Just couldn't see spending 8 bucks for a six pack when Old Milwaukee was 9-something for a 30 pack! Gary Burbank says life's too short to drink cheap beer so I finally bought a six pack of it, and decided if that's what beer is supposed to taste like I don't like it! I do still like Old Milwaukee, Bud Light, and Natural Light however.
  11. I gave her a goo-goo...I think...and took the rest with me in the truck. I wish you would talk to her-I told her before I left Monday "that squash right there needs to be picked this evening or tomorrow or it'll get too big". I just picked it today when I got home, with all these big knots on it. The smaller one is just right. Also got the first ripe tomato today. Stooped at a thrift shop in Rustburg on the way home because Jo spotted some little table sitting out front that she liked. She said "can we go back-I wanna look at that table". I said "hell no,I don't want none of that crap!" So we turned around and went back, and I picked up these patches for a dollar each. Oops-I must apoligize. She claims she did pick that squash, this is a different one.
  12. Amen brother! (Bulldog man) Can't top that one!
  13. Thanks, i'll keep that in mind...hey Clem-how you doin'?
  14. ...is really growing- must be the miracle grow. Should have tomaters ripe any time now. Cabbage is big enough now, already had squash, onions, and beets out of the garden. Got little green beans on the vines. The smaller garden has beets, onions, lettuce, and carrots. Don't know what those big plants in the onion row are yet- they came up volunteer from last year when I had cucumbers and butternut squash there. How about those peppers? Already the biggest jalapenos i've grown, plus I have hot cherries, cayennes, habeneros, and the tall plant by itself is a tabasco pepper. Might be a good year for hot sauce! I'm proud of my garden, but Bollweevil sent me a picture of his last week and it makes mine look...look like...I don't know, but it's not even close to being as big and impressive as his! Nice anti-rabbit defense fence,eh? A rabbit comes out about every evening just before dark and looks at those beets and carrots through the fence.
  15. great! next time I break down-I mean IF I should have the misfortune to break down again-i'm coming over there. Thank you.
  16. Parked the truck at the south Lynchburg truckstop Friday because I've got to load in Lynchburg in the morning. That saves some time and miles not having to go all the way to Concord to get it, besides that the yard in Concord is so small it's hard to even find somewhere to park on weekends. That's where I usually park it on weekends, at the truckstop. Plenty of room, never a problem finding a parking spot. I even park way down in the corner farthest from the truckstop, out of everybody's way and nobody ever said a word. Well, dispatcher Neal called me this morning and said somebody called him yesterday from the truckstop and said the truck needed to be moved by this afternoon or it would be towed. He said he forgot to call me yesterday- good thing too, I was cooking a pork loin. Anyway, I said something like "WTF?!! It IS a truckstop, why can't you park a truck there?". He said he didn't know, they just wanted it moved. Maybe they didn't like it being parked there over the weekend because I wasn't spending money there, but I did get fuel there occasionally. Over 200 gallons week before last, and went in the store a lot to get drinks, snacks, and what-not. I just don't know- When I went up there to get it a little while ago it was down in the corner all by itself-the nearest truck to it was about 50 yards away and there was room to park about 50 more trucks in that truckstop. I moved it down here behind the store. Didn't go in and ask what the problem was. If they go out of business because I don't buy any more fuel, drinks, or snacks from them-good! They can kiss my a**.
  17. I'm still gonna order one of these.
  18. oh yeah, Egypt- haven't heard that expression in a while.
  19. where's the pictures Doug?. If I coulda went i'd have appointed myself the official picture taker guy, a.k.a. photographer.
  20. First Sunday I didn't have to work for a long time-think i'll go bag some cans.

  21. BFE? I'm gonna have to get a code book.
  22. sounds like a porn flick.
  23. it was good! this process took several hours-the cooler was full when I started and it's empty now-that's how you tell when it's done. I had some fairly green oak blocks and split them up and put it on the charcoal for more smoke. It was probably 90% done when I put the bbq sauce on it and wrapped it up.
  24. too much information!-shoulda googled it at first.
