  1. Yep, looks like Long Island Lumber in your picture all right! I drive for F.L.M.
  2. Anybody remember "King" syrup? Came in a red metal can with a picture of a lion on it and you had to pry the top off like a can of paint. It was really thick, and you had to dip it out with a spoon...and get yelled at for leaving a trail of it across the table. You never moved your pancakes close to the can, had to drip that trail...only kind of syrup I remember having when I was a youngster.

sometimes I wish it would break down-this week i've been to been to Fredericksburg,Daytona Beach, back to King George,Punxatawny,Pa, North Jackson,Oh. to Petersburg,to Monroe,Va, and gotta leave tomorrow for Barrington Lake,Il.

  4. That's very serious. You were fortunate that they diagnosed it quickly! I worked with a driver at H.H.Moore trucking who was bitten in the heel by one. He didn't go to the doctor right away, thinking it was no big deal. He didn't even know what it was. By the time he did go and they figured out what it was-because the bite just wouldn't heal and kept getting worse- it was too late. He actually had to have his leg taken off just below the knee. Absolutely true.
  5. One of the first things I learned was how to rebuild starters-pretty easy putting new bushings, brushes, and a bendix in.But nobody does it now-like honing and rebuilding a wheel cylinder, you just go buy a rebuilt unit and slap it on.
  6. I need a few more 2x4's to finish it.

  7. Except as written in Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11, and Philippians 2:10.
  8. I noticed that immediately.
  9. I remember the old parts book. It just burns me up now to go to a parts store for a generic type item like a wheel stud or headlight and they want to know the make and model of the vehicle so they can look it up. Advance Auto Parts is the worst. I stopped at the one in Dillwyn one time to get a low beam headlight for the truck- a 2A1 I think it is, you can get them anywhere and they're all the same. First thing the guy wanted to know was the make and model of the vehicle. I didn't figure they listed Peterbilt parts anyway so I said "i'm building a spaceship in the backyard and I want to put headlights on it". He just stood there looking stupid and speechless. Then I started to leave and the woman in there went and got one off the shelf and put it on the counter. I paid for it and as I was leaving she said "good luck with your spaceship".
  10. From an e-mail I recieved- Subject:* Obama Classmates View of the Big Plan for America Even if this cannot be documented; this is actually what's happening in the USA! This is what it is all about; total economic system/infrastructure failure in our Nation is fast approaching irreversibility! ------------------------------ One person's analysis. Obama's Agenda: Overwhelm The System Rahm Emanuel cynically said, "You never want a crisis to go to waste." It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama's presidency. Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within. Barack Obama is my college classmate ( Columbia University , class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it. -- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression? -- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around." -- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government. -- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America . But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security. -- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America . The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means. -- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system. Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama. ------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. 11. good equation
  12. there WAS a cow in the back yard-got pictures to prove it. And i'm sure i'm not the only one to confuse a bb gun with a .460 Weatherby magnum, probably happens all the time.
  13. that's why I went with the .460 instead of the .300 magnum- better to have too much firepower than not enough.
  14. Rabbits eat my garden, squirrels eat the apples, peaches, and pears, now I see this huge creature in the back yard. Thought somebody's cows were out at first. After much research I identified it as a red angus, so I grabbed the old .460 Weatherby magnum and ran outside... Should be done around 3:30 or so.
  15. gee...that was quick. got good tires on it for you too.
  16. and, the token babe entry...

  20. yeah, and all the criminals and drug dealers should be loaded onto enough of the "mothball fleet" in the James River to hold them all and sent on their way to China or North Korea flying a flag that says "we are spys" while transmitting a radio signal saying "f@#*k you, you commie ba$#@%*s" repeatedly.
  21. I love a challenge! I can alter pictures, just like you can, but I can not make stickers or decals. I just learned what I know by trial and error, just fooling around with pictures- but i'm on it. Just as soon as I go cook these 2 steaks on the grill. Got a top sirloin for $2 and some change just because it had turned dark-that means it's aged right to me, it's not about to funk. After I marinate it in some Worcestershire and soy sauce nobody'll even know it's gone bad.
  22. see? the mirror just keeps getting better. gotta go now...
  23. Ah-hah! The things you can learn here! That reminded me of this article i'd read about the first Bighorn. I'd never put 2 and 2 together before, but it was indeed written by Tony Youngblood. This blue Bighorn was at Troutman too but either the year before or after the 2 900 models were.
  24. a trick? naw, no way! I know a beautiful red neck trailer trash slut when I see one.
