  5. "Great post! Thanks...Barry"
  6. naw,but that's the last picture I could take because it broke my camera. I rolled the window down at first and asked that fellow what he was staring at before I realized it was my reflection.
  7. I was sitting at a red light on rt. 51 in Pittsburgh Thursday minding my own business when a great looking black Peterbilt dump truck pulled beside me. Didn't get a picture of the cab because I was afraid it would upset Rob, but the whole body was polished so you could see yourself in it.
  8. I don't get it...maybe I need to sign in to my g-mail,but it takes too long and I gotta go.
  9. the view out of his other window- no fishing equipment needed.
  10. I know everyone here has read the "Diesel Gypsy"'s stories on his website (now back up,http://www.thedieselgypsy.com/). He's the greatest truck driver ever,in my opinion-and that's saying something. Today he sent me some pictures of the "Moon River Bridge" story-what it looks like today. He made a trip in his car down to Toronto last week and stopped and took these pictures for me, so I thought i'd share some of them. The top of the first picture shows the road the grader that pulled them out came down. The next is the old Bailey bridge they crossed-still there. The next picture is the north end of the old trail, after they crossed the river. The last two are of where Larry's Tavern used to be. It was bulldozed when they put the 4-lane in. The story took place 54 years ago. I was born 54 years ago too.Time sure flys!
  11. wow,that was pretty quick!..I just snapped that photo Wednesday,June 2nd,2010 about 7:08 pm!
  12. Saw not one, but two nice looking Peterbilts for sale in Jane Lew,W.V.
  13. I'm not too good at going forward...much worse going backwards. They had to cut down a bank twice and still had to tow me so I could get around the curve at the bottom of this hill. Then I had to back all the way back down to turn around in the grass by the big oak tree, between the trailer and the brush pile.
  14. yes, there's one in Altavista. I'm pretty sure the red, yellow, and white cables are right but I think you're onto something with the antenna cables.I need to review them-new Ice Road Truckers starts Sunday. Got it!..ran another yellow and white cable from the directv box to the dvd/vcr and it works ok. that wasn't in the manual so it took a while for me to figger it out.
  15. It was a mixture of stuff I found laying around- I mixed a bottle of Lawry's Southwest Marinade, a bottle of Texas Pete hot wing sauce, and enough of my home made vinegar based bbq sauce to cover it in 2 gallon size ziplock bags.
  16. Hi Mike!..the tv is older and only has one connector for the antenna. I had to buy a modulator to get everythingt hooked up and working. I had both a vcr and a dvd player on it before and everything worked-without the modulator!.. and you could watch ice road truckers while you were taping it.
  17. I keep telling them their pants are too short, but they say they're supposed to be like that. They're all 5' 1'' tall and get their clothes in the kids department or the local dumpster. They gots big feets though.
  18. just thoughts- I cooked some really good chicken on the grill yesterday, and had leftovers today. I had a ten pound bag of leg quarters in the freezer that had been in there a long time, so I cooked them all. As usual with the leg quarters I skinned them and trimmed off the excess fat and "yucky" stuff first, then marinated them for about 6 hours. After they were done I put them in an aluminum pan, smothered them with Open Pit BBQ sauce, and sealed the pan tight with aluminum foil and left it on the grill for about another hour. You couldn't pick one up by the bone without it just falling apart! The Charlotte race is on TV-nothing like being there though, when you can smell the rubber and racing gas, and see all the babes walking around. The guy that sang the National Anthem did a great job, unlike the girl that sang it before the all star race last weekend. There's only one way to sing it-like it's supposed to be sung! You can't "make it your own" like you're on American Idol. Just my opinion. I used to go to a lot of races at Charlotte, Richmond, Rockingham, and Martinsville but I don't anymore. Back to work tomorrow-it's a holiday for some people but not truck drivers. I'm going to Byesville, Oh. with a load of lumber. But otherwise i'd have had to leave today...and some of our soldiers never get a day off.
  19. This is better than comedy central
  20. Jo's one of 5 identicle quintuplets (???). None of them know anything either. But they think they know everything-one of them just told me I spelled identical wrong and I had a dangling participle
  21. Yeah, I asked my youngest son last time he was over, but he couldn't figger it out either. He's almost 25 though. I've only had this machine a few months.
  22. I got it at wal-mart but i've had it too long to take it back. I think I just don't have something set right. It doesn't bother me because it plays fine, but Jo likes to tape movies and stuff off the tv and she's been nagging-I mean, she's asked me several times to try to get it working right so she can see the movie she's trying to tape.
  23. I finally got around to getting a new VCR/DVD combination a while back because neither of the 2 old ones worked right anymore. The DVD player was a $29 unit from the dollar store, and the VCR was 62 years old-old enough to retire. The problem is I can not get a picture on the TV when the power is on to the DVD/VCR- just a blue screen. The old remote had a button for tv or vcr mode but this one doesn't. It works ok to play tapes and dvd's but if you try to record something off the tv you can't see the program you're recording-but it does record it, I checked it...just can't see it or hear it to cut commercials or whatever. I tried everything I know (not much) and pushed a lot of buttons, still can't get a tv picture- anyone got any ideas?
