  1. Hi Paul...thought you were shunning us since you've been maintaining such a low profile lately
  2. When nocluejoe and myself visited him last summer he kinda talked like everything was for sale. He has an astonishing collection of old trucks-well over a hundred, and most of them run. Real nice man too, you should give him a call. If you want to go visit, let me know-i'll go with you. I missed getting a picture of the EHU when I was there. I think some are in my gallery, if I didn't delete them. This is Joe, hanging off the side of a 2 story IH. First one of them i'd seen, except in pictures-and he has one.( the 2 story IH that is, not a nocluejoe )
  3. I had that all wrong. I thought it was "stop a quarter of a turn BEFORE you wring it off".
  4. could be, there's some very smart people in Farminton, Il. Well, at least one-i'm not sure about the rest of 'em.
  5. this was the coiled plastic air line going to the gladhand. I could have taped the first one and made it until I got the new one-until I cut it that is. The other one I put on was leaking under the metal spring that goes over it on each end. I guess that's to keep them from breaking. They are very easy to break, especially when it's cold. The old rubber hoses never broke, I guess that's why they did away with them.
  6. here's an old one parked, a restored one, and mine.
  7. yeah- sharp looking ride there,eh?
  8. good idea- I have a roll of gorilla tape, but since I had a spare hose that i'd been hauling around for years I figured i'd try that first...
  9. Naw, she wasn't oriental. She had nice boobage, but as I said, not near the overall hotness of the last girl that cut my hair. The last girl was smokin' hot, and for $15.50 she at least made it last for a while so I would think I'd gotten my money's worth. No, I did not give her a tip today.
  10. great, I hope all works out well for you!
  11. I started to put this in the "Truck Stories" category because it is a "story"- I would never actually drive from Negley to East Liverpool with no trailer brakes. So, let's say when I unloaded in Negley Thursday morning I heard a slight air leak-very slight- when I applied the brakes. Pulled the hand valve and checked the gladhand hoses, thinking maybe one pulled loose when I was backing into the unload position, but no, the service line was cracked. No problem though, I had a spare hose laying on the catwalk that has been there for a few years, underneath some pieces of tarp and a shovel with a broken handle. Must be good, or I wouldn't have bothered to keep it, right? Wrong. I took the one off that was leaking, changed the fittings and gladhand to the spare and put it on. Leaked worse than the old one. A lot worse. So much worse that I would have put the old one back on, if I hadn't cut it off with my pocket knife so I could get it off easier. So I eased on down to the International dealership at East Liverpool and bought a set of hoses and put the service hose on in the parking lot. Got the other one for a spare. Saw this Lonestar sitting on the lot. I have to admit, the more I see these trucks the more I like them. A real eye-catcher, no doubt. That's the story part- the random part is I just got a haircut at Wal-Mart. $15.50!!! And it took her 3 minutes at most. And it wasn't even the hot babe that cut it last time!..should have done it myself- Jeff says my head looks like a set of shaved monkey nuts anyway, so I couldn't have messed it up too much. Not that I have a lot of hair left to mess up in the first place.
  12. and i've heard somewhere along the line that you should use a torque wrench or breaker bar to tighten u-bolts because an impact wrench won't tighten them properly?..I don't know, but i've heard that somewhere.
  13. Got a pair of new air bags put on last week because one was leaking. These must be better than the old ones because they have the genuine Peterbilt logo on them. I also saw some Mack trucks. Wow, what a snout on that one! ...and i'm in the wrong part of the world...
  14. saw this D-9 at Kyanite Mining Corp. this week-what a monster!
  15. hmmmm...sounds like Double L's upstairs neighbors.
  16. great, and congratulations on your newfound career in the truckin' binness.
  17. don't know about the red running gear, just haven't seen one like it, but the green and black looks great, as do the painted rims. I think it's an excellent choice.
  18. I found it! The date on it said 2004 for some reason, it was on the last page so I changed it to Dec. 31,2009-wouldn't go to 2010.So now it's prolly reposted 3 or 4 times...par for the course for me. Yeah, ive been running pretty good the last few weeks.

    Wtf?!

I spent 11 hours typing a new blog entry with 2 fingers, and it's nowhere to be seen. First blog entry since Dec. 22. Just wondering, is it my PC? Can anyone else see it? Where did it go?
  20. I know he was highly upset when Freightliner discontinued the model he was running. I remember seeing an ad to that affect somewhere, either in a magazine or maybe on Hank's Truck Pictures. Here's the story- http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/df_gully.htm
