  1. hmmmm...sounds like Double L's upstairs neighbors.
  2. great, and congratulations on your newfound career in the truckin' binness.
  3. don't know about the red running gear, just haven't seen one like it, but the green and black looks great, as do the painted rims. I think it's an excellent choice.
  4. I found it! The date on it said 2004 for some reason, it was on the last page so I changed it to Dec. 31,2009-wouldn't go to 2010.So now it's prolly reposted 3 or 4 times...par for the course for me. Yeah, ive been running pretty good the last few weeks.

    Wtf?!

I spent 11 hours typing a new blog entry with 2 fingers, and it's nowhere to be seen. First blog entry since Dec. 22. Just wondering, is it my PC? Can anyone else see it? Where did it go?
  6. as am I.
  7. I know he was highly upset when Freightliner discontinued the model he was running. I remember seeing an ad to that affect somewhere, either in a magazine or maybe on Hank's Truck Pictures. Here's the story- http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/df_gully.htm
  8. ...now that's funny right there
  9. I don't know anything about the company but he likes old trucks, is an ATHS member, and has several restored trucks of his own- so I like him!
  10. I have a Kyocera phone with a camera, but I seldom use it. I always use my trusty Kodak digital camera.
  11. Hi Mackdaddy!..well, i've been running my ass off the last 3 weeks-going south too. 2 trips to Mobile week before last,New Orleans last week, and Eagle Pass, Texas this week. Came all the way to Jackson, Tn. to reload though, and that's going to New Jersey. I just hope it lasts...
  12. got a driveby picture of those bullnose KWs.
  13. I remember the first model truck I made. It was a cabover Freightliner in the early '70s. I actually got it for my brother for Christmas but I put it together. You can't find model kits around here anywhere. K-Marts and Wal-Marts used to have them but I haven't seen any lately. Guess you have to find a hobby shop, eh? I do have a few diecast models that I bought.
  14. Well...anyhow, I put a lap belt on the driver's seat in the mixer. Whenever somebody rides with me I strap in and say "if we turn over you're on your own".
  15. ...until Jo said "how long are you gonna stare at that picture?!!". Didn't know she was looking. I said "i'm just researching a post I saw on BMT".
  16. that would be the one.
  17. great! the Sasparilla truck should keep him busy for years, with all the bottles, spokes, and chain links to color.
  18. ...reminds me of the one where the man goes into the bar and orders 12 martinis. Can't tell it for fear of getting banned though. I'll just tell the punch line- he said "no, that's ok- if twelve of them won't kill the taste, i'm sure 13 won't". good one, eh?
  19. Just find a Holiday Inn Express and sleep in their parking lot...couldn't hurt.
  20. yeah...we be smart too. driving a Mack actually makes you smart. Larry is double smart 'cause he drives a Mack AND stays at Holiday Inn Express periodically.
  21. I'm always looking for old trucks during my travels. I spotted these 3 B-models near Auburn, Al. last week when I was on the way to Mobile. Too bad the 4-wheeler obstructed my view when I got a picture this week. Then about 10 miles or so east of Montgomery I saw at least 3 bullnose KW's. I didn't get a picture because I was unprepared, but found them on Google Earth's street view. They look to be complete and unrestored. I also saw a mashed Peterbilt, and a nice looking Pete with the track vehicle on the trailer. I don't know what the military vehicle is, but it's a cool looking truck and i've seen dozen's of them on the road lately.
  22. hmmm...copy...paste...search...WOW!-awesome!
  23. no one knows...
  24. maybe you should give one of those mask things with a filter in it a try, before it's too late... Just a thought.
  25. Thanks Mike, i'll remember that if I go there again. There's plenty of places to pull over and park all along where I took that picture. I didn't of course because I didn't have time. Had to be in Foley by 3 o'clock to load. Got there at 2, time to spare, but not a lot to spare. About 5 minutes after I got to Azek Building Materials 2 more trucks came in to load. Good place to load, I just hate where i'm going. I might have seen Lambert's on tv before. I remember seeing some restaurant on the Travel Channel where they throw the rolls to you.
