I sold mine at a yard sale. Besides, Jo wants me to hang my clothes in the closet- like that makes any sense!

It saves a lot of time because you can do a whole axle, sometimes both axles, at once instead of jacking up one side at a time. It'll free up a jack and stand or two if you need to jack up something else and when you're not using it you can lean tires against it or even use it like my old excercise bike, to hang clothes on.

they use one similar to that, only a little smaller looking, a lot at the shop. They use it to lift the whole back of a trailer off the floor, and under the back of the frame on trucks when changing tires and lining brakes.

Yes, the R-model came out in '65, the RD in '71, RWs in '78. B-models were discontinued in '66. R's were made until 1989, but variations of them were made after that. The RB model didn't come out until 1989, and were made until the end of the century...they might still make them, that's as far as the book goes. The CH came out in '88. The RD had a higher weight rating. The Superliners had a different hood and huge grill to accomidate a bigger radiator to keep the V8s cool. from the Mack book, "Driven for a Century"

I probably wouldn't be here now if not for a block of wood. I was helping some friends put a clutch in a '66 Chevelle and was underneath taking the driveshaft out. When I got it loose I pried it forward to get it out of the yoke on the rearend and when I did the car rolled forward off the jacks and dropped down onto the big wooden blocks on each side under the frame. It had been supported by the 2 jacks, and was about an inch off the wood. When it dropped that inch with me under it I realized what might have been and how quickly stuff can happen, and how stupid I had been.

I've seen one of the mechanics where I used to work sit on tube type tires with the split rims while he inflated them. I told him "them things are gonna kill you one of these days" and he always said "I ain't worried-I do it all the time". He was lucky too. He never had any kind of accident-but it only takes once.

I...uh...I...OK, I picked up a load of skidded coils in a van at the dreaded AK Steel in Butler, Pa. last summer. It was about 120 in the shade and of course the a-holes at AK Steel require long sleeves. After I got loaded I headed south on rt. 8 and there's a store on the right with a little dirt parking lot next door- it's just past the famous "Rob's Truck Sales/Peterbilt and Smart Car" plant. I pulled in to get a cold drink and there was a mud puddle in the parking lot, full of water. I'm assuming it's a small puddle but when the trailer tires go in I said "0h $#*! this @$%*"s deep!!". The front corner of the van went down on my drive tires and I couldn't move at all. The back of the trailer was barely off the road. I walked across the road where some guys were doing something with a forklift and asked if they would pull me out but they wouldn't drive the lift across the road. I was just about to call the Peterbilt place to get a wrecker when a truck pulled in the store lot and circled around and pulled up in front of me. He said this situation had happened before, and he didn't know why they didn't fix that hole. I got a chain and hooked it to our front tow hooks and he backed up and pulled me right out. I thanked him and offered to pay him too, but of course he wouldn't take any money. It doesn't take a lot to get hung up sometimes. I was so pissed I didn't even get a cold drink, and have never stopped there again.

no corn liquor, but the wine was-I mean is-delicious! Probably the last home grown tomatoes for the year, mine have been gone but they still had a few they brought in green, before the frost got 'em. They also gave me a couple packages of short ribs out of the freezer (my brother raises a few cows and had one butchered this summer). Might put some turnips in the crock pot with some of the ribs. I'm making myself hungry-better have some leftover turkey and green beans.

Went to Cumberland to see Ma and them today. I got a few turnips out of Dad's turnip patch, some broccoli, tomatoes, and 3 bottles of homemade wine. He had some nice turnips too! I've never had any luck growing them-I'd buy enough turnip seeds to plant 4,000 acres and sow them in a little garden spot and usually about 7 of them would come up. Here's what I made off with today-

Ain't broke down since Monday there Rob, when the fan belt broke. Excuse me, I mean Double L.

Geez, your luck hasn't been too good for a while. Work is slow everywhere too. Seemed like it was picking up some for a while, now i'm back to the "one paycheck away from being broke" situation.
