  1. by the way, I went to Florida this week. In a truck.
  2. you spelt Gladys wrong
  3. I check out Hank's truck pictures periodically to stay up to date, and saw this H-model on his latest entry. One of the prettiest i've ever seen.
  4. I don't remember...somewhere a bit north of Nashville I think.
  5. you wouldn't think a highway sign would do that but he might have been traveling at a high rate of speed and about to blow over anyway. Or the picture may not be real,I don't know.
  6. oops!
  7. A couple of big rigs
  8. me too, never thought to check it.
  9. uh-oh! I didn't really, I found the bottle in the trash barrel at the truckstop fuel island and re-used it. The squirt bottle is very convenient, but it has regular old 85w-90 gear oil in it (used of course). I guess I should switch to synthetic and try to eat healthier.
  10. I got up early this morning, so I decided to cook breakfast...
  11. I don't know if there's any dead rats in the mixer cab, but they had definately been into the d-con I left for them. I didn't have time to check yesterday because I got back from Florida around 5:30 and had to get to the bank before they closed at 6:00. Wonder if a rubber snake would keep them out? I went to Neville Island with a load of beams Monday, then reloaded in Sharon, Pa. back to Lynchburg. Turns out the coils were the wrong size , so I dropped them at the shop and took a load of beams to Fernandina Beach, Fl. on another trailer. I had a load to pick up at Nucor in Huger, S.C. and the earliest loading time I could get was 11:30 Thursday night. Got there around 7:00, but didn't even get across the scales until 1:00 AM. Finally backed in to load at 4:00, and left a little after 5AM. I called Todd and told him i'd been at the #@$!ing place all night trying to get loaded. He wanted to know if i'd seen anybody else. The other 2 trucks had gotten 7:30 appointments, and at least one of them was already back in Lynchburg. So I just took 26 over to 95 and went north to the first rest area and pulled in and took a nap. Now I have 2 loads of coils sitting at the shop-they still haven't figured out what to do with the first one. They were too big for Handy to cut, so I don't know if they'll send them back to Sharon Coatings, or get them recut somewhere else. I see the truck show pictures from Lincolnton, N.C. that I sent to the ATHS are posted on their site now. http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum414/Topic64199-34-1.aspx Pretty boring report there,eh?..zzzzz
  12. coulda been worse-at least he didn't use Volvo air tanks. I'd have went with used Peterbilt tanks myself, and sent Rob a picture.
  13. I noticed that! Great looking unit by the way
  14. There is one addition I would make-i'd have an old engine block swinging on a chain out of that big tree.
  15. Me too!.. great looking truck!
  16. Yes,there's always a time when you have to decide whether it's safer to go through the light or try to get stopped. A big single coil loaded eye to the side might make a difference in your decision.I always said the blinking warning lights before you get to the light was one of the best ideas they ever came up with-if I see it start to blink I start stopping, but they don't have those everywhere.Everywhere around here's got red light cameras now though. Maybe "it's not about safety,it's about money"?
  17. We're all looking for you on Pinks-All Out.I like that show.
  18. Oh yeah, definately classic rock-Pink Floyd,Yes,ZZ Top,Al Green,etc ...
  19. shhh-oot! thought you were gonna say "of the rolling stone".
  20. new sponsor there,eh?
  21. Congratulations on a fine season!
  22. Don't worry-this is an offer even Momma couldn't refuse. I'm sure she'll be happy for you to have it.Good story too,way better than telling her you actually won it in a card game.
  23. I get the cheap stuff from Wal-Mart...speaking of Wal-Mart, this is from the "people of wal-mart site
  24. I use it as tarp protection on sharp corners of steel mostly, but I did try it on a turbo hose once when mine split open coming up Powell mtn. in W.V. It lasted about 10 seconds.
  25. The buffing wheels that fit on the grinder are cloth-you just turn the grinder on and run it on the brick of rouge, then turn it sideways to polish so just the edge of the buffing wheel contacts the metal you're polishing. You don't need to put much pressure on it. Should work good on the diamond plate, but as I said you could probably get by with the aluminum polish, some rags, and a lot of elbow grease unless it's really bad to start with, then the buffing wheel might be the best way to go. They make smaller wheels that fit in a drill too.
