  1. the Emeryville was at Gary's too. I asked him if he was gonna restore it,and he said that was his first thought, but it was further gone than it looked so he's scrapping it. He did say I could have the wheels off it. And my exhaust pipe blew out yesterday, right at the bend where it turns up to the muffler. You can see a hole right behind the step in one of the pictures.By the time I got back to Concord you could stick your hand in it.Since there's probably none to be found with the right bends i'll probably have to put a piece of flex pipe on it. I don't know if any muffler shops around here can bend 4" pipe,or what it would cost.
  2. Went to the annual benefit at the Toga Volunteer Fire Department today. I took some pictures there at the car show, but I left and went to see my Mother and Father in Cumberland,Va. before everything was there...it had just got started good when we left, and was about over by the time we got back. Stopped by to see my oldest son on the way back, and gave him his birthday present...his birthday was August 19th,so I was A little tardy. I took pictures of what was there before we left, then a fleet of big Mack trucks in Cumberland, then on the way to my son's house saw the "truck of the day"-A beautiful Diamond T (that's not how you spell beautiful is it? it just don't look right...never mind,i'll ask Rob later) sitting in Gary Barr's yard.So we stopped and I chatted for about an hour-if you check out Old Bill's website and read my entry in "How You Got Started in Trucking",he's the guy that was too young to drive out of state. We ran several trips to the west coast together before they found out,and was practically born in a truck. He can wheel! Hadn't seen him for years, and it was a great time! His daddy had a Diamond T,and I remember Gary driving it to school...really! I thought it was the same truck, but he found this one in New York and brought it home. It's smaller than the one his Dad had,gas engine w/a 5 speed and 2 speed rear. So,i'll just put the pictures in a gallery because there's so many, and i'll be looking forward to seeing Paul's pictures from Watt's Mack's open house-would have liked to have been there, but it just didn't work out. I also took a few more of my mixer, because I waxed it yesterday, for the first time ever. So check out my albums for the pictures,i'm starting to post them...NOW!
  3. "There's no need to fear...Underdog is here!" Rob comes through again! Rob has never been known to be wrong about anything...yet.
  4. on second thought-I always wanted to see Canada too. Now even more so...no offense. Andrew Boyer sent me this picture, with this caption: This picture is from Western Australia. Take a careful look at this picture; see the size of the snake and the roo being pulled out of the water.
  5. yes,i'm rolling right along
  6. thank you for the link. I'm glad George Bush was and is the president. about all I can say right now.
  7. send Jeff some brochures w/specs and prices, maybe he'll cancel that Peterbilt he ordered! I'd like to be a test pilot on one of them monsters
  8. mine don't like each other, they're looking the other way
  9. that's a "certified clean idle" sticker
  10. A larger hammer will surely make it fit.... reminds me of the old "Pep Boys" commercial where the guy is driving a square peg in a round hole with a big hammer, saying "we'll MAKE it fit!"
  11. old J.B.Hunt joke-"hello,dispatch? Uh...I can't see outa' my right mirror, and the right turn signal don't work" "well how come?" "cuz that's the side it's turned over on"
  12. G'day mate! (that's Australian)

    Gone To Ohio

I unloaded in Cincinnati yesterday morning and sat at the place until after lunch before I got a load. Load of signs or something in Florence,Ky. going to Bedford,Va. I called Amber about the load details at 1:30,but she hadn't worked out the logistics with her customer yet,so she said she'd call me back. When she hadn't called at 3:00 I called headquarters back and told them I didn't know what was going on,but I had to leave the place where I unloaded because they were about to close the gate. Todd said she had just called him and said the load wouldn't be ready until today. He said it didn't pay enough to lay a truck over for,and for me to head this way.Got home about 1:00 am. Today's load is more like it! Gotta go to Orlando, unload sometime tomorrow, come back to Brunswick,Ga. and load a load of pipes Thursday going to Kyanite Mining in Dillwyn to deliver Friday.
  15. A-HAH!..now I gotta go find that trench coat, double billed hat,and pipe before I go looking.
  16. It's been nice running south for a while, but now i'm headed to Cincinnati.I have no energy...none. Just feel tired all the time. It said on the antibiotics prescription I got that that was one of the side affects. I didn't have a lot of energy to start with with the infected gum-waited a week too long to do anything, now i'm paying for it.
  17. maybe I should bring a pallett of possums and armadillos just in case...you know, just to hold me over 'til I accumalate enough local road kill.
  18. that's what I thought-you should jump on it!
  19. remember-dull knife = more pain. ...but I don't know what someone could have done to cause that problem
  20. if that's not a misprint, the fuel tanks are worth more'n that .Look at those bulldogs-they got everything covered-the two on the mirrors are lookin out and the ones by the headlights are looking in . Better sharpen all your knives,I hear a dull knife hurts much more.
  21. I'm gonna wait for his report, and if he likes it I might come too. Plan to open a barbecue joint when I get there. Already ordered the plans for a kangaroo trap from ACME products.
  22. I saw a move kind of like that on "Ice Road Truckers",except for the ice part.
  23. I should've picked the tomatoes yesterday, but said "naw,i'll do it tomorrow". Now it's raining, and been raining all night. Not only is the 'mater patch muddy, the rain will cause them to split open ...but,my laziness aside,we do need the rain . The weather has been causing the satellite signal to come and go,so the pc works periodically. Watched Bullwinkle this morning.I thought he was Canadian, like Dudley Doright, but he's from Minnesota. A fine actor too,I didn't appreciate his humor as much when I used to watch him and Rocky years ago,but he's a great comedian-I like the way he talks...mmm-hmmm. and Joe,saw this in the Tractor House paper-got "NoClueJoe66"written all over it...
