  1. mice?.."arright then...how much you want fer 'em?..reckon I'll have some of tha big-uns" (Carl from "Slingblade")
  2. That's great, the EHU is one of my favorites I just like the way the cab looks, but i've only seen pictures of them, never seen one up close at a show or anything.
  3. If you like concert videos, look for "Delicate Sound of Thunder" by Pink Floyd. It's one of my favorite live albums. "Pulse" is great too, that's the same concert tour they were on when I saw them in Raleigh, and it's got "Dark Side of the Moon" on it in it's entirety. Good stuff.
  4. that's kinda' what I was gettin' at,in a roundabout way! I used to think nocluejoe was funniest , but I don't know-Rob is funnier than a screen door on a submarine!
  5. yeah,I chopped these down with an axe in the back yard,so i'd have enough room for my grill. I gave them to some company out of British Columbia ,if they'd come and get'em outa' the yard . I took this picture after they'd loaded them up and pulled out of the driveway, headed back to British Columbia.
  6. yeah...reminds me of a Pink Floyd song-"remember when you were young you shone like the sun..." or another Floyd song,"...and then one day you find 10 years have got behind you no one told you when to run, you've missed the starting gun..." wow-they don't write music like that anymore! being young is great, because even though you might not realize it now,it's over all too soon. Then you listen to "Time" (above) and say "oh yeah-I know what you're sayin' .wtf happened?"
  7. I don't guess I need that one

    Saturday

Went to Altavista just now,and out here where 699 runs into 29 some people were having a yard sale in the restaurant parking lot straight across 29. So of course Jo wanted to stop and look around-I said "I don't want none of that crap", so we stopped to look around. Saw what could well have been a heckuva deal- a cobra 148gtl cb radio, chrome plated external speaker, and a 300 watt linear-all for $60! The radio or linear either one is worth way more than that-way,way more.I was tempted to buy it myself, but I just bought a new Connex 3300hp and I have a 100 watt modulator I don't even use. The guy said everything worked, and that he had it on his boat, but I had no way to test it of course. I feel like it probably was good, because his wife (I assume she was his wife) said it about killed him to bring it. If anybody else happens to want it let me know ASAP,I'll run back over and see if it's still there, and send it for $60 plus whatever it costs to ship it. Maybe the guy didn't realize what he had. Even went to Food Lion and got a replacement steak for the one I dumped on the ground yesterday.
  9. what about the sloped hood C-model? They should throw that in there somewhere for history's sake
  10. thank you
  11. ran across this rare animal while browsing Hank's Truck Pictures, a cl 350 Mack...geez,looks like I goofed again-never mind the second brochure picture, that's redundant...word of the day, redundant. The caption reads: "This is a Mack CL350 that Mack made in the late 1970's to compete with Pacific (Hayes had since gone). This was the first CL350 brought into the forest. It's stationed at the Menzies Bay camp north of Campbell River. The cab is not original, and I'm not sure if this is a rebuilt truck or another one the division bought. They did get the first one, as the shop guy there told me and showed it to me when I was up there in the summer after they got it. Mack tried this truck, but from what I was able to gather, they didn't sell very many of them and the CL350 series was eventually discontinued."
  12. I'm right there with you on that-pink in the middle is ok with me,but I don't want it raw!
  13. As Bulldog man would say "Amen brother!"
  14. what a day-went to the eye doctor this morning...she said everything was looking about the same, which is good. "Ramblin' Man" unloaded the load I brought in last night, which is good. Jobyna and I stopped by the Food Lion in Rustburg on the way home, where they had T-bone and top sirloin on sale.Which is good. We got a few groceries,I picked out a great looking top sirloin steak from the reduced rack, and told her to pick out any steak she wanted, and i'd cook it when we got home. She picked a nice T-bone,one I started to get for her myself. When you decide to do steak, which we don't too often,it's nice to pick the one you want, right? That's good. She likes hers a little more rare than I do,like so rare a good vet could get it back on it's feet,so I put my steak on the grill first.I was using the little small round grill with three legs because I was only doing two steaks, and when I attempted to adjust the draft on the bottom the whole grill tipped over, dumping the great looking top sirloin on the ground Very bad. She said "i'll take it inside and rinse it off,it'll be ok". But it had dirt in all the nooks and crannies,so I gave it to the dogs. I was mad as #*!! So I went rummaging through the freezer and found a pack of cube steaks, defrosted them in the microwave, and was going to grill them when the kids from next door came over, being about 3,4 ,and 5 years old. They wanted to play with Otherdog ( the beagle, not me),then they wanted to go inside, then they wanted something to eat,so we got a package of hotdogs out of the freezer and I cooked them ,along with the cubed steaks. Then Jobyna sprayed some "Off" on the little boy's legs and he commenced to squalling, saying "I'm gonna tell!",then ran home. The little girl was crying because she had to go. So I wrapped up 5 hotdogs ,kept 4, (I dropped one of them on the ground too!) and Jo took them next door, and all is well now...until I found out mom next door is a U.Va. fan,and i'm diehard Va. Tech. I told Jobyna I'd just leave her steak in the refrigerator, get another one tomorrow, and we'll still enjoy a nice steak dinner together...which is good. sorry, best picture I could come up with today...
  15. I thought they said on the local tv station this morning that they weren't going to make any Macks in Dublin anymore, and they were going to move it back to Pa
  16. crap! I was trying to put a link to Toga,Va. from google earth. I've done it before, but this ain't right... don't even have a delete button on this...it's over there off the screen somewhere-stupid computer! just disregard the previous entry.

  18. glad you cleared that "wogmar" thing up-could easily be changed to "wogmat" or even "wogmap". Pass that on to Kathy for Paul.
  19. sounds good,i'm gonna give that a try!
  20. I actually saw Pink Floyd before,in Raleigh,N.C. Did I mention that before? Oh,that many times huh? Roger Waters had left the band by then of course, but everybody else was still around. By far the best concert i'd ever been to. "The Very Best of Yes" is one of my favorite CDs too. Too bad if I can't make it to Watts open house-I was looking forward to buying you a hotdog and a pepsi Paul.
  21. yes,i'm sorta-kinda surprised anyone else even made the Jethro Tull connection! Well, now I have a problem-I just got a flyer in the mail today from the annual Toga benefit. They alway had it in August before, but this year they decided to have it later so it would be cooler, even though it's not usually much cooler around here until about the middle of October. The date they picked was September 13th. I'd hate to miss the benefit, the second annual one was for my wife and another woman who also had cancer. My wife had no life insurance, and it was a tremendous help. I said I wouldn't miss one from then on,and I haven't. Of course that's the same day as the Watts Mack open house and truck show, and I'd hate to miss that too, especially the chance to actually meet one of the greatest living Americans,a.k.a. Paul VanScott
  22. well don't forget your hard hat, safety glasses, and steel toed boots then. ...and better make sure nobody else does either, just in case...
  23. no wonder you're up way past your bedtime...sorry,but I think they've left you. Probly just forgot you in all the excitement ,and you've been standing there all day with your bags packed, waiting on a call
  24. yeah,I can tarp it,hadn't thought of that...no problem.
  25. huh? I put a straight pipe on the mixer too, mainly because I couldn't find a 4" muffler in the state!
