  1. Why, they're one of the things that make America great! Zina from Gladys made me some this morning, with our own blueberries and some of the wild blackberries that we picked in them. I only had 3 though, not 671. It would take me a week to eat that many pancakes. Speaking of wild blackberries, I've got some wine going on in the cheesy poofs container.
  2. If I had taken my camera I probably could have gotten it. All I had was my phone though, and I held it right up against the glass. I need to start taking a camera with me again. When I was driving I always had one with me.
  3. That's just a screenshot from my phone, no link.

    B-67

I just happened to see a listing for 2 B-61s for sale, but they're B-67s. I don't know a thing about them, just saw them on marketplace. The ad says they're in good shape except for the stuck brake pedals, you can see this one needs a little work, but overall it doesn't look too bad.
  5. We were out just riding yesterday, went to see the sunflower field just up the road. Took the long way home and saw this bus parked on Long Island Road right there where the junkyard used to be. I don't know how rare a Crown is or anything, but i'd never seen a tandem axle school bus before, of any kind. I rode an International bus to school myself.
  6. So, I went to the eye Dr. in Madison Heights today. I rode by those vehicles that were parked to take a look. I probably won't post any more pictures, or go by there again, unless somebody wants me to investigate anything further. I still think it's some pretty neat stuff though. Right up yonder where the road curves, just over the "N" on the tail of the plane is the doctor's office I went to. Neat looking old unit here too- Lots of tractors. I wouldn't be surprised if some of this stuff ended up at the Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor museum. There was some old wooden boats out there too, but I didn't get any pictures of them. Nice looking Impala- oh wait, that's mines, never mind. It's not for sale. ...a little work on this baby and you could be flying in no time!
  7. what?..that's not mountains, it's a lak- oh, never mind, you're right- I see the mountains now.
  8. I saw some more pictures on the "Living in Lynchburg" page of the vehicles they're going to auction. There's an M37 Dodge, some tractors, and even an airplane. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10224874207035955&set=pcb.3180233168902475 As soon as I saw this picture I knew exactly where they were. Madison Heights, the dump trailers across the street gave it away. I have an appointment at the eye doctor tomorrow about half a mile from there. I might take a look, but the comments on the original post would indicate that the guys working on this job are not exactly friendly.
  9. I took that picture and the truck with the welder from way up the street, I should have walked over I guess. I don't know if they were going to park all the vehicles in the field for the auction or put them back inside, or haul them someplace else. They'd better put them back inside somewhere or there won't be anything left of them by auction time.
  10. Yes, I saw somewhere that some were in Lovingston.
  11. I would, but I don't know where it is now. I looked at what they had outside but we didn't go in the building at all.
  12. Oh, here we go- https://www.matthewsauctions.com/current-auctions?fbclid=IwAR0LLQ5bNFhI7pPM0QuhM8CWe-u7rnq2-f5TuHo57HVJhp0MtN_tfdylGIY#AbsoluteVirtualPetrolianaAndAdvertisingAuction
  13. From the original facebook post- "Had the privelege of touring part of the late Mark Smith's collection in the old Lynchburg foundry building. Some really interesting vehicles!"
  14. These are some of the pictures I took. Except this one. I didn't take this, but that's a beautiful lake. This GMC 7000 appeared to be in excellent shape. The tags on it were last good in 2008.
  15. Dispatcher Randy from where I worked sent me a link to a facebook page the other day. I'm already in the group but I hadn't seen the post. It was pictures of all these old cars and trucks that have been stored in a building in Lynchburg. The owner passed away and apparently an auction company was moving some vehicles out and checking the inventory. Some units had "do not sell" signs on them. We rode up to the lower basin in Lynchburg yesterday to take a look and be nosy. I took a few pictures, but nowhere near of everything. If you're on facebook, the link was here-https://www.facebook.com/groups/1694101117515695/?multi_permalinks=3177418775850581&ref=share Another couple was there yesterday doing the same thing we were doing, and the guy said they were going to auction the collection sometime in September or October, and the auction would be on-line as well as at the site. That's about all I know about it, I had never heard of the owner so I don't know what he did or anything. The guy we talked to yesterday said he had other buildings full of cars somewhere, and I heard he had a bunch more in Wisconsin I think it was. Here's some of the units from the facebook page- this is a wild looking machine here- The Forsyth truck was from the same company as these trucks I photographed in Winchester, Va. in 2006.
  16. I'm sure Timmy sprayed the truck, he used leftover paint from when he painted this Freightliner so I don't know where the brush marks came from. There was a can of red paint left in the body with a stiff dried up brush stuck in it, so maybe he went over thin spots with the brush or something, I don't know. But there's still some over-spray on the glass and around the windshield trim. There was a lot on the grill too, until I rust-oleumorized it.
  17. I finally got around to putting that new brake booster on today. So here's a girl I saw walking around in the Piggly Wiggly in Winfall. Anyway, no more vacuum leak like with the old booster- ...but I don't have much pedal now. The brakes work, and I never disconnected the brake lines from the master cylinder, but the pedal goes almost to the floor. I checked the rod coming out that goes into the master cylinder, and they were the same length. Maybe they need to be adjusted up a little, I don't know. So here's a girl drinking a Miller Lite. I like Miller Lite myself.
  18. Great, I went to one once when they had it at the Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum.
  19. We always try to drive a couple hours south to the truck show in Colfax every fall.
  20. wow, how'd I miss that?..but happy birthday miss Stone. That must make you the oldest person in the world, congratulations on reaching that milestone.
  21. Oh, I hadn't thought of that. I'll just put a can of stop-leak in it. Black pepper might work too, works good in a leaking radiator.
  22. I had a 71 F100 that I painted at home in the driveway with a brush and red implement paint from the hardware store when I lived in Appomattox. Didn't look bad at all, at least not compared to what it looked like at first 🤣
