So, I saw these pictures on my phone a while ago. Randyp had posted a picture on here of him sitting on a huge pine tree. Randyp was a regular here, very funny, always had a humorous reply to just about everything, and then he just... disappeared. I tried calling him several times but the last few times got no response, so I don't have a clue about his current status. But anyway, if you remember him here's the old story about the big tree.

I watched a very interesting 20 minute video comparing different fuel conditioners on YouTube this morning. Surprising too, some I'd never heard of did very well, while other more popular brands did rather poorly. The video is well worth watching, but here's the gist of it- This test was cetane rating- This was the lubricity test- Anti-gel test- I don't remember this one, but all the fuel was frozen for 24 hours at -38 degrees fahrenheit then treated. And this was the final test results-

That's kinda what I was thinking. Actually, that's exactly what I was thinking 🤔

Wow, like everything else anymore that's about twice as much as I was thinking it would cost.

No, but Zina is talking about getting one again. The last time was when we were coming back from Florida and layed over in Asheboro because there was a bad ice storm up here and a lot of power outages. We were still in Gladys then, that was about 3 or 4 years ago I think. But even then, it wasn't our nearly as long as it was this time so I think I should get one. My brother has a Generac, and some people say they're a great unit, but I've heard too many people say they're junk. I started seeing these ads online- even though I hadn't googled generators at all, imagine that- and Briggs and Stratton makes generators, I never knew that, and they have a 7 year warranty. And I saw Kohler ads, Cummins ads, several more I can't remember now. But I think we're going to get something.

Day 18...just ate the last seal we had... don't know how much longer we can hold out... Oh, the power just came back on- never mind.

That reminds me of "Spot the Wonder Dog". It was a running joke on BMT for a long time. Different guys would "write" different parts and add to the story. It seemed hilarious at the time. I guess it could be found it you typed it in the search bar.

For sure, and I didn't do it near as much as you did.

Merry Christmas back!

Well said!

That's good, I don't know how they expect any normal person to take these idiots seriously ...then there's this one that I saw on TV the other day, she was- what else, complaining about Donald Trump and Elon Musk- and she looks like a purple haired witch with cartoon glasses who just stepped out of "The Wizard of Oz".

I have to sign in to prove I'm not a bot if I want to see it 😡

That's J.B. Stoltzfus, great guy with those GMCs. Unrestored, looking like they're still working! I like that he invites people to get in them and look around too. But I don't know why I can't watch any videos that anybody links on here- I always get this message 😡. I'll have to go find it on YouTube for myself to see it. At least I'm helping to protect the community somehow... apparently 🤔

I followed an auction not long ago, in the last year or so, just because I like these GMC D860s. I thought "man, I'd love to have that truck". And the dang thing sold for somewhere around a hunnert grand.

You're right about that, people drag junk out of the woods now and expect to get a fortune for it. Bad part is that a lot of times they do! 🤣

He said he gets WOT, he just didn't have an idea as to how much to list it for. I'd say the usual- ask more than you would expect to get, because you can always come down but you can't go up. I sold my mixer way too cheap. If I had kept it until now I could have gotten 3 times as much for it as I did then.

Yes, I don't know either. It probably still looks that good, I think all he did with it was haul his antique tractors to shows with it. I would think it has more value to a collector than to somebody looking to put it to work. I told him he should call the Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum, they might be interested in it.

Anybody remember the great bulldozer adventure? I went down to the N.C./S.C. line on rt.38 with an RGN trailer and picked up an Allis Chalmers bulldozer. The man I was picking it up for rode with me, as it was only supposed to be a day trip. But, you know how plans go sometimes. His brother was bringing the dozer up from S.C. and blew about 3 tires on his trailer before he got there with it. Anyhow, the brother called me yesterday and wanted to know what I thought the truck he brought it up there with might be worth. I told him I really didn't know, but I would ask around. He's in his 80s now and wants to sell his C500 Kenworth. He's not going to give it away, and isn't trying to get rich off it either, he just wanted to know about what to ask. It's a 1978, with 91,000 miles on it. It's really more of an off-road or heavy haul unit than an over the road tractor. It's pretty unique, and a real collector's item. He put a sleeper on it and it has an 855 Cummins in it. He said it was a 230 Cummins originally but he added a turbo and said it has around 275hp. now. I took these pictures when I picked up the bulldozer. This was in February, 2016. Anybody have any thoughts about it?

Yes, I didn't think to look at all that when I was there though.

This was great- the best part is at the 4:40.

One thing that I found out today helped us make that decision. I thought we were talking to the second owner, and the first owner only used it to pull a Landoll trailer. Turns out he was the third owner, a fracking company had it first, and he bought it around 2020- that's about when sleepy joe put a stop to the fracking. So while it did have very low miles, who knows how many hours might have been on the engine. Sure is a nice truck though.
