  1. Probably not too many fire departments with their own wreckers anymore. I see a lot of government agencies contracting out services like that.
  2. Nice looking bench! A good work table is really handy.
  3. Both of those are noice! The grille bars look very Kenworthy.
  4. $1,725 or best offer. Has fabric covered wiring, says it has original Mack color codes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MACK-B-Model-Complete-Wiring-Harness-With-Original-Mack-Color-Coding/154061778931?hash=item23decc2ff3:g:eKQAAOSwJnRfPq-a&autorefresh=true
  5. 10 speed!! You could put an air splitter on it like an RT-910 Roadranger.
  6. He started doing a lot of lowboy work, he may be busy right now.
  7. I worked on Cat and Cummins for 18 years, most of the trucks I worked on used Rotella 15W-40 and the owners were very happy with it.

    RD888SX

In southern Ohio. Looks like it's done its share of hard work. https://athensohio.craigslist.org/ctd/d/hamden-1990-mack-rd888sx-dump-truck-09/7183689794.html
  9. Found this picture on the interwebs, the driver said he was going about 25 mph and the transmission seized and flew out of the truck. Crazy!!
  10. There's a reason why it has "Death" in the name.
  11. On Ebay in Oregon. Reserve price, could be high. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Mack-Truck/392909578198?hash=item5b7b3c5fd6:g:MREAAOSw2QVfMeMv
  12. I'm using CR Scotseals and I'm too cheap to buy the installer tool, so I used a 3/4" thick piece of flat steel and drove them in. They don't seem to be disfigured at all.
  13. Looks like a good sturdy bench!

    Starter kit

I'm glad you made it clear that you're talking about footwear, I was starting to get nauseous.
  15. The left air tank on my H model had been moved at some point, and I want to put it where it belongs. Has anyone seen a tank mounted like this, with the fuel tank spacers? It seems like a factory fit. Also, I gave up trying to find 2 more rear brake drums. Gunite and others make a drum that fits the SWDL56 rears but it's 7/8" deeper for 7" wide brakes. I bought 2 of them and had a friend cut the offending 7/8" off with his lathe. Now I can finally assemble the rear wheels and get ready to paint the chassis.
  16. Yeah, like when your nose drips you say it's running!
  17. Watts Mack (sponsor of this site) has a lot of B model parts.
  18. An ad on ebay for a dealer's technical service manual, he says it's for fire trucks and buses. Looks like it's got a lot of info in it. Starting bid $100. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-MACK-Technical-Service-Manual-MACK-TRUCK-SERVICE-SHOP-REPAIR-BOOK-MANUALS/124282091876?hash=item1cefca3964:g:Xl8AAOSwEVBfJccO
  19. B model hood on ebay, $1,300 plus $350 shipping. Going by those prices, my truck should be worth about $100,000! And by the way, those are not louvers--they're rust holes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-1953-1966-Mack-B61-Vintage-Butterfly-Hood-W-Louvers/193603284633?hash=item2d13a7ae99:g:jU8AAOSwz7dfIuOL
  20. The ad says it has a 350 9 speed on taperleaf camelback. $4,750 https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/lancaster-1988-mack-mh/7168264787.html
  21. Classic theme song by Merle Haggard!
  22. That was a crazy movie, but it was pretty neat to watch that old Pete rolling down the highway.
