  1. Super nice looking truck! You don't see those very often.
  2. It took me a minute to get the title of your post, I just had to sing it like Axl Rose.
  3. Those electronic logs are nice...you don't need kindling and matches.
  4. I'm putting my H model together from 4 trucks, but thankfully I've got a clear title for the vin on the frame rail so no need for any fancy title work!
  5. I don't know anything about the APADS, but I figured the compressor would kick off before the pressure got that high.
  6. I've driven several Petes that had a real nice ride.
  7. I was planning to use caster shims under the spacer blocks; then I noticed one of my H models doesn't have shims in it. As I was looking at the spacer blocks, I happened to notice that one end is thicker than the other (2-1/8" one end, 2-1/4" other end). I guess I'll put the thicker end in front and once the truck is all together, see if the caster angle is good. I've never measured caster angle before...can I measure it by putting a level on the spring seat of the front axle?
  8. Looks like someone has an air line run to the aneroid valve.
  9. On ebay, NOS. Opening bid $575...lots of cabbage. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154019155230?ul_noapp=true
  10. I remember seeing a photo of a Sears store with a kit house built inside the store.
  11. I went to put the front leaf springs on, since there's no weight on the chassis the springs won't squat down enough to line up the ends with the mounts. As you can see, the rubber insulator is cocked at an angle because of this. I'm used to working on springs that have shackles so they will swivel to line up. I even tried the old spring, it's the same way. Has anybody put front springs on that can give me some tips? When I put the engine in will the rubber settle into the right position?
  12. I was at a junkyard back in about 1981, a guy walked in with a driveshaft off a Dodge Dart that was bent in an "L" shape. The counter guy said "put a little too much torque to her, did ya?". He said he was driving along and the front u-joint let go, the shaft speared into the blacktop.
  13. Definitely better than on the freeway!! I was at the Howard Truck show in Fairborn OH a few years ago; Jerry had a nice Mack, believe it was an L model. The bumper and left front fender were missing, he said the pitman shaft sheared off on the interstate and took the driver into the median cables. Lucky for him the cables were there!
  14. Too modern for an H, don't know where a vertical radio would fit in them. I agree with the guys... it looks like the units I've seen in R, U, DM.
  15. Call John Chalmers at 717-334-8709 (let it ring 10 or 12 times). He sells door handles that look like that and he can probably tell you if they will fit your truck.
  16. I bought one years ago and it fit my H67, if you find one for an H it might fit your truck.
  17. Would that be the same as the red they used on chassis? I'll paint my chassis Mack red, I haven't looked up the paint code yet (I'm using Axalta/Dupont).
  18. The value would depend a lot on whether you can jump in the truck and drive it or if it needs some repairs to make it roadworthy.
  19. That's probably a Bendix E-6 treadle valve, you should be able to take it to a truck parts place and have them match it up. One caution is that you could have a maxi brake can with a shaft seal leaking that will cause air to leak back through this valve.
  20. Thanks Ed! I called Kevin and he does have more. They are old pieces, I bet they will last longer than the poor quality materials they use today.
  21. If you could post a picture of the valve we may be able to help.
  22. Saw this on ebay, looks like a handle for R and F models. NOS...$30 plus shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Handle-for-MACK-55QS32-NEW-OEM-NOS/392871975428?epid=7012716460&hash=item5b78fe9a04:g:WboAAOSwWuJfDMtf
  23. 34's and 38's refer to... uh... yeah, the rear axles. That's it, the rear axles.
