  1. Is that a triplex? My TRD720 (9 speed OD) has one lever in the top cover and the hi-low shaft on the right rear like this photo, but I see this one has two levers in the top cover.
  2. I saw him in concert a couple of times, I remember after he "played the fiddle hard" some of the bow strings would be broken and hanging down.
  3. It's 1-3/4". Where can I get those? I will have to check with PAI, my dealer said they're not available right now. I can't believe they want $57 for those stupid things!
  4. Does anyone know where I can get boots for the drag link? These are the old ones; round ones like on the tie rod ends won't work because the openings are elongated.
  5. I found this old photo while digging through some old stuff, the truck was for sale in Loudonville Ohio back in 1994. It had a flathead gas engine, owner said it used to be a concrete mixer. I'm glad I didn't buy it, I found my H model about a year later.
  6. The clutches I worked on in the 80s and 90s had an adjustment on the clutch brake, did you look at that? They had a bolt-in tab that you would remove and then use a pry bar to rotate a threaded collar inside the pressure plate. I believe the spec on those was 1/2" between the clutch brake and throwout bearing.
  7. The ad says the motor still runs! Crazy looking motor. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/246836616769080/

    1936 Mack

That was an eBay ad from last year; I doubt the truck is still for sale.
  9. If you're not a Mack mechanic, you may want someone to look it over for you. Keep in mind this truck is 50 years old so it may need a lot of wrenching. Jim's right about DM 685's...they are a great truck with the right care.
  10. I've heard a lot of people call them split rims, that may not be the correct term but it gets used for them quite a bit.
  11. Fine looking R model!! I like the color combo and where the color line breaks.
  12. Do you have an idea what would be a minimum pressure for tube type? Mine are 10:00-20. I'll be bobtail most of the time (hobby truck).
  13. On FB, in Lenoir NC. Asking $9,000, looks like a decent truck. I see one shift lever, would the F785 have a 237/5 speed? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/678453836276169/
  14. I can honestly say I've never seen a rolloff with a double bunk COE before.
  15. Did you look the cam and lifters over real well on the inframe?
  16. If the engine is original, it should be a 673, with 160 to 180 hp. For me the deal breaker is excess rust in the cab and sheet metal (or rust that's been covered with bondo). As far as oil pressure, I'll have to let one of the more knowledgeable guys answer that one.
  17. There's a lot of old trucks out there with modern engine swaps, like you say if you don't like it then tough. The old engines are neat but we don't all have to have them. It's better to preserve the sheet metal even if you put a different engine in it.
  18. The tipper definitely has 24.5s on the back and 22.5s on the front.
