  1. This is Ernies Towing from Vernon Hill's IL with a DMM that was a former mixer truck. He has since sold this truck but still has the CH that I took a picture of a couple months ago.
  2. Today a friend of mine spotted the Rizzi RD's that have been put out to pasture. I was wondering what happened to these trucks as I have not seen them in years but these pictures answered that question. A shame, they look like they are in decent shape just rotting away in Aurora.
  3. Can't say that I've ever seen that gal or truck before. Since you were up in that corner of the world I'm thinking maybe that was a WIS truck. Either way I'll be on the lookout.
  4. Was a few different places today, lots to see. Started out in windmill country where I went to a pipeline job where they are putting in a new pumping station. They were starting to pour concrete today with two RD conveyors and one MR. Saw an ABC supply RB. Then I saw an Anker W9 picking up a Stevenson crane (sorry not a Mack, I just like the truck) then a big ass storm came in, and while it was raining I spotted a V&K Management RD pulling a bulk tanker.
  5. Great pictures and a great story. Like any collection the thrill of the hunt is sometimes more important that the actual item . Thanks for sharing.
  6. Yesterday I saw a Kamp Granite pulling a load out of Beverly Gravel, and then I saw a Meyer DMM six wheeler. Must have been an old mixer that they converted.
  7. The Chi-Town Large Car show was last Saturday by Lynwood IL. I wanted to go but I had to work. A friend went, I asked him to get me a picture of any Mack's there. He said the only one there was the Brites R-model, but he didn't get a picture while it was there, so he found me one off of Facebook. This is a sharp looking truck. One of the best looking Mack's around this area.
  8. This is a company that used to run all black and red R-models. CSX, Chicago Suburban Express. I caught a couple of their CH's lately. I didn't think they had any R's left but early this spring I saw a red/black R-model tow truck heading north on 55 pulling in one of the newer trucks. Didn't have time for a picture but would be a nice one to get.
  9. Where's the dislike button? That looks awful.
  10. That excavating concepts truck has been sitting at Botts for over a year now. Had been meaning to stop and take a picture but didn't have the time. I didn't realize it was missing the rear end. That truck is looking sad
  11. Was up by 120 & 12 a couple weeks ago hauling dirt and spotted a few Macks while I was there.
  12. I didn't get to see it in person but it is slammed to the ground, so must have some sort of air ride up front. I see the hood got extended a foot or two more and the doors look like they flip up. He's got a lot of work into it. Needs a visor or something, looks like a Hot Wheels truck.
  13. A friend passed these pictures along of a couple ACME refining yard dogs. About the only difference between the yard trucks and their street trucks is that the street trucks are blue.
  14. I didn't get a chance to make it up to Waupun WI for the truck show this year but a friend of mine did and he sent me a couple pictures of this Superliner. I believe it is owned by the same guy that has the big copper colored Superliner that is next to this one. By the looks of this truck I'm guessing this is just a toy now.
  15. Last week I saw this Hoving RB rolloff with and w/out a box in two different spots.
  16. Saw the new truck today pulling the tanker. Looks nice, hope it holds up well for you guys.
  17. This is the first time I had seen this truck this morning. I did not catch the name on the door yet and I'm not sure where it came from but it looks like somebody took a T800 grill and put it on the front of this R-model. Interesting looking for sure. It almost looks like a Superliner coming at you from a distance with the larger looking grill up front. It's not the worst thing I've seen done to a truck. Definitely different.
  18. I hope they don't do that in this crooked state of Illinois. It's bad enough all the local cops can pull you over and claim that you "look heavy" (duh, of course it's heavy, its a truck) but I don't think a truck could make it through N. ILL without getting pulled over 15 times a day for some money raising infraction.
  19. Saw a bunch of Macks today. Saw the Meyer CH, and then saw their Sterling parked in the corner with the windshield blown out of it and wondered what happened. As luck would have it five minutes later somebody sent me a picture text that explained what happened. I had to run out to Rockford south of the airport to pick up a load and I saw a Superliner, and R model, and a Cooling Sod Farm RB. After I got back I saw a K-Five Granite.
  20. On Sunday I went to the IL Railway Museum in Union IL for their transportation days event. Had a few trucks their as always and tons of other automobiles. Two B-models from St. Charles came up. I knew where these two trucks were but had not met the owners till yesterday. Was nice to chat with them for awhile. The blue B was formerly owned by Macknutt(Mike) who is on the BMT forum. Also saw a cool little red wagon that was tricked out. Even had hydrolic's to raise and lower the suspension.
  21. Today I took my blue Pete out west to Franklin Grove IL for a truck show. Franklin Grove is in between Rochelle and Dixon. Saw a few Mack's while I was there. No R's, but a nice looking Roy's Mack with a couple antiques from Burch & Carmichael, and a couple other nice looking Mack's from out west.
  22. Will go into the way back bin today with a couple pictures of my Dad's truck he drove for Plote back in the day. I think all these were taken between 78-82. The first pic is him bringing the truck home one afternoon. The second was taken at West Suburban Hospital in Chicago, and the third was at Mallard Lake Landfill which is now closed.
  23. Saw this sharp looking Powerliner owned by Michael Gully at Iowa 80 Walcott. I heard it was just rebuilt.
  24. Here is a little closer look at the Baker truck. Still earning its keep.
  25. Today I saw the old steel dash Peter Baker R model getting loaded. Saw the Meyer plant from across Lake Meyer, got a still shot of the Euclid and the funniest thing I saw all day was one of the dummies that they are using to haul concrete out to I-90 started grabbing gears out of the yard and forgot to latch his tailgate. He made quite a mess.
