Chicago R models
PeterMack replied to Lmackattack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Saw quite a few Mack's today. Saw Builders twin stack single axle RD service truck. It was orange and black with Orange Crush on the door but they gave it a repaint. Saw the Julie K RD (Berger Exc) which is driven by a guy who had one of the cleanest Pete's with the entire dump trailer polished out until the company sold the truck and trailer. He said if this truck needs a polish he just gets a new can of Krylon. Saw the K-Five water truck. Saw the Meyer mixers with the new Ozinga sticker on the door. Also saw a CTC RB and CH and a Markaty CH. Meyer was also running their old Euclid with a screaming Detroit. Al did you ever get to run that one? -

On Friday I also saw a Berkley R and RD along with R. Zimmerman's 4 axle CH. Still have to get a pic of his CL and Superdog. -

BMT at Walcott

Was nice talking to you Jake. Had to make sure I'd get in and ruin at least one picture, plus I had to lean on Al's truck so it wouldn't roll away -

It was ok. Superdog has the Mack pictures posted up. Alot of the same trucks as years past and it seems like truck attendance was down but still a decent time. July 25,26,27 there is a decent show in Rantoul IL called the Top Gun Large Car shootout. It's held at the old Air Force Base. That one wouldn't be to bad a drive for you. I would suggest to go Friday or Saturday because as soon as they hand out the trophies at 11 on Sun the place clears out. Really only needs to be a two day show. -

On my way out to Walcott for the truck show on Saturday I stopped by the 2&92 junkyard in Milan IL to do a little shopping and while I was there I spotted an R-model rolloff for sale there for 6K, was a runner, a CL that looked like it needed a little help, and R and CH that had seen better days and a non Mack, but cool in my opinion 4300 13 letter shit spreader. Had a Cummins in it, they wanted 4K for it. It ran, the interior was a little musty and they said it had some sort of throttle issue but a pretty solid truck. -
Was up in Wis last weekend and on the way home I spotted this 67 IH for sale. Have not seen one of these in years. Was in good shape.

Here are a couple CL's I've seen running around that a landscaping company owns. Both came into the pit the other day. Not sure where they are out of. -

Ruffalo had a really cool looking Value Liner service truck. I brought some gravel to a sewer job they did in Elgin 6 or 7 years ago and I don't think I've seen them since. Are they still in business? -
That MH looks just like the truck that was on a Mack calender I had from the late 80's or early 90's. Square tanks and paint scheme looks the same. Was some race car transporter in the calender. Went to look for it but I can't find it.

Nice. I always liked the looks of the RM 800's. Tough looking truck. -

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of those. Will have to go back in time to get those. -
A couple random Wisconsin Macks
PeterMack replied to PeterMack's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
OK. Good to know. Thanks for the research and answer. -
A friend of mine took these pictures. These trucks are all sitting along RT43 between Elkhorn and Delavan WI. I have seen them before myself but did not have the time time to stop. Not sure if they are for sale or if they are just being stored there. I have never seen one like the red Mack before. Any body know what that one is?

This picture came on an email I got that said this was from the Norway-Sweden border. I can't verify that's where this was taken, but I thought it was a cool picture.

Thats Jewel Trucking and Exc from the Milwaukee area. I ran into that guy a bunch back in my scrapping days.

Saw a few Macks today. The first R-model is from a concrete company out of Maple Park. I've been by it in the pit a couple times and it looks like a pretty solid truck. The next is a Superliner and I think its from out by Rockford somewhere. In the afternoon I was out at the Petro in Rochelle and spotted a rare and elusive Titan. Its a Perkins Specialized Heavy Haul truck from Minnesota. Was there with a KW. I'm gonna say this was the pusher truck. I think they were parked for the day and the load was parked out along I-39N in a wide spot.
