Mention of patriots always reminds me of this video, So many made the supreme sacrifice. It distresses me no end to see our own liberal government diluting, pissing away our freedoms (whether intentional or just plain stupid.) The antics and positions and nonsensical pontificating of buffoons like John Kerry and that d-bag Mitch McConnell make my blood boil. Who the hell votes for these buggers anyway? And then we elect a foreigner who didn't grow up here. Never had a paper route. Never jumped the battery in his first car. Never went to a junior high prom, never washed cars to raise money for the church. The dumb (but sneaky) SOB didn't grow up here, so, how would anyone expect him to share the values we do? He's not like us, not one of us. Hope you enjoy this video that reminds me about true patriots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR7HPQM0Jgg BTW, I did not serve in the military. Those who did have my respect and gratitude. Sincere thanks from me and my family.

Can't our employees in DC perform their duties anymore?
grayhair replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
I doubt it was because of the job challenges per se. It was probably because he was going to have to fly on US Air. U.S Air sucks. I've flown as passenger on over 1,200 American Airlines flights, no problem, never even lost my luggage, Now that American has merged with US Air, things are going to hell quickly. But, I am going to retire rather than shoot myself. Just sayin'. -
The last living U.S. President with Honesty and Integrity
grayhair replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
Not sure I strongly agree or disagree with the above comments. I voted for Carter but was greatly disappointed on several fronts. a) he couldn't get our boys (hostages) out of Iran, The hostages were freed within several hours of Reagan being sworn in. The story is that the Russians counseled the Iranians that Reagan was not the kind of guy to mess with. Carter might have been a smart guy but he did seem to be lacking in the testes department. And the so called "double nickel, a law we can live with." Interstate speed limit of 55 mph and cops everywhere writing tickets for 3 mph over. Bull shit gas shortages when there was no shortage - tankers full of crude anchored off Galveston. If you're OK with 55 mph, try driving just a short way from Dallas to San Antonio at 55 mph. You'll want to scream. Smart guy for sure but a crummy administrator. I was there, I lived through it, and sorry gents but that's how I remember it. -
"People should and do trust me" - Hillary Clinton
grayhair replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
I dunno. Something wrong with my computer,,, Every time I Google "scum," or "liar," or "disaster," any of those 3 words, the search usually gives me a photo of Hilary. But sometimes on odd number days the same search results in a photo of Lois Lerner. I bet Vince Foster could fix my computer if only he was still around... -

It is an interesting story. Years ago the final offer from Donald Trump was $5 Mil. The state even tried to take it by eminent domain, but she held on. I think the parking structure has since been demolished and the property finally sold at auction to Carl Icahn for about $535K. If interested, you can Google "Vera Coking house." Plenty has been written over the years.

I think "air rights" laws for the space above your property vary by state. I remember back in the day there was a hold-out that wouldn't sell when they were building casinos in Atlantic City. The developer need the space for a parking garage. I think the final offer to her was $1 mil. + plus a new Cadillac every year + free housing and buffet in the hotel for life. No dice, she wouldn't sell. After some legal wrangling they built the parking garage around and OVER her house. The part Over the house isn't shown in this photo but I'm sure I remember seeing it finished over the top. You can read more on this one in Wikipedia.

Ford bets U.S. consumers will snap up $70,000 pickup trucks
grayhair replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
$70K truck worth $50K the minute you drive it off the lot... And don't forget the sales tax of $5 or $6K, and the extended warranty for another couple thousand. Not for me. -
Things I like about "The Donald." I don't believe he can be "bought" by the lobbyists. (That's why the DC insiders and RNC hate him.)I trust him to put good, strong, qualified people in cabinet positions and sweep out a lot of the trash. He isn't shy. If he makes a mistake or chooses the wrong people, I have no doubt he will fire their ass in a mid-course correction. With all the promises he has made, his huge ego will require him to make good on those promises. The man prides himself on accomplishments. Can you imagine Hilary's fear if she has to debate Donald one-on-one? The guy has sharp elbows and rough edges but he may be our best option...

I want to see her debate the Donald. -
Plenty of blame to go around. Management, unions, government tax grab that fuels endless wasteful spending. But I have empathy for all sides. I worked a miserable union job when I was young and the pay was minuscule compared to management. Later in life I was a corporate manager working 80 hour weeks, airports and hotels, rarely home while my kids were growing up but the pay was awesome. I wouldn't want either of those jobs again. You just have to find the job that "fits" you. And when it doesn't "fit" any more, have the initiative to make a change for yourself. I am often reminded that the management guys couldn't do the work the guys out on the factory floor do. At least not day in and day out. And the shop guys couldn't do the work or handle the stress of an intense management job. The other guy's job always looks easier or better. Sorry to wax philosophic on our Big Mack site...

I don't think anyone would argue that GM has been well managed. On the other hand, we have done so many things to push manufacturing out of America. Start with hundreds of ill-conceived EPA regulations for instance. Plus, the U.S. has one of the highest corporate income tax levies in the world. This huge tax grab is then misspent, virtually pissed away. Building libraries and water works in Iraq and millions of $ of foreign aid to countries and people that hate us. Can't walk the streets of Philadelphia at night but we send millions to Turkey. We send our money to our enemies and they laugh at our naïveté. Cell phones and minutes for people that refuse to work. Tax returns of cash to illegals who didn't work and didn't pay a dime of tax. Truly, the inmates are running the asylum. O'blamer's policies are being perfectly implemented. So, if you voted for him, or you voted for a U.S. Senator that supports his initiatives, then we are reaping what you have sown.
-
The low-information voters are still fully invested in him. Unfortunately, I fear we have reached the tipping point where the low information and on-the-dole voters outnumber voting taxpayers. Now, since it is no longer required to show ID in order to vote, many of these leeches will no doubt vote multiple times thus sealing our fate.

Backing into your driveway may soon be illegal in one US city
grayhair replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
Going back to the 60's and lots of us young drivers at the city park, the cop (1 of only two in town) would drive into the park to look us over and generally be a pain in the ass. When he left we would follow him, 20 or 30 or so cars in a row following him wherever he went. Driving slow and legally. Through town, back to the station, wherever. He stops, we stop. He goes, we go. Agitated the hell out of him. These days, would probably throw us in jail on some trumped-up charge. Of course we weren't exactly saints either... Like throwing a chain around a porta-potty and dragging it down Main St. through town. One kid swiped the driveshaft out of the cops Chevy patrol car. Young, dumb, and time on our hands... -

And after you shoot her dog, drag her into small claims court for the vet bills and pet ambulance bill. And maybe a complaint against her for leash law violation. Jeez that would feel good I'd think. -
"People should and do trust me" - Hillary Clinton
grayhair replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
A vote for her means Gina McCarthy (unmitigated disaster) will stay in charge of the EPA and you will no longer have a 2nd amendment right either. She will just pick up right where O'mackdaddy leaves off. You think you've lost some freedoms and are overly taxed now? You aint seen nothing yet. The real question though... If she and Bill get elected, then will they bring back the Whitehouse tableware they took with them (stole) when Bill left office? Of course remember Hilary said they were "dead broke." Such a hard life for them, brings tears to my eyes/ -
Infiniti recreates scene from National Lampoon's Vacation in new video

That's pretty funny. Thanks for posting/ I must say however, the kid is permanently imprinted in my brain as Nick Papageorgio from Yuma. -
Friends tell me the death penalty in PA is on hold while douche lightweight governor sucks the consults with his attorney buddies political contributors. 186 individuals on PA death row but no executions in the last 16 years. Some have been on PA death row for over 30 years. Sad to say we don't move all that quickly here in TX either, but eventually we do get around to it. Meanwhile taxpayers have to feed these scumbags, medical, dental, time in the prison law library, color TV, and on and on. My opinion, each death row inmate should have a kidney removed immediately by a prison surgeon. Said kidney then sent to Bethesda for transplantation to help a military combat veteran in need, or the next up on the national organ waiting list. Maybe testicles too from convicts of rape/murders. Those could just be sent out with the other medical waste. Get back to the inmate with a confirmation letter stating the date and time that his cachubies were incinerated. Nothing cruel or unusual there. Now making the testicles into key fobs could be unusual... I don't know.

To busy with chicken sh1t pursuit of fines. No interest to work the dead case files, or investigate burglaries or muggings. Or, how about put down the friggin donut, get out of the car, and actually walk around the car if they want to see the license plate? Too much work I imagine. If these stupid ordinances really bother you, maybe do a little research on the process, and then get with some like-minded citizens to get a recall petition going to remove your mayor and maybe some other city bureaucrats too. Could end up being more fun than not. Bureaucrats love a quite, compliant constituency. If they single you out for retribution, don't be afraid to sue them personally for malfeasance or abuse of power. Discriminating against you is a crime. If the discriminating parties supervisor knows about it and does nothing, then he too is a criminal, and so on right up to and including judges. I do feel for you Northeasterners. City governments run amok. Fortunately we don't seem to have much of that bs down here in TX. Grew up in NJ and not going back... -
I imagine this POS has a criminal record and was released by a liberal judge. Dollars to donuts this wasn't his first felony. Should prosecute his father too for piss-poor upbringing... We have: The dumbing-down of America - via the growing number of liberal, low-skilled "tenured" teachers who should be removed. (Love teachers but there is dead wood hiding amongst them.) A totally ineffective, completely superfluous Federal Dept. of Education Liberal law schools turning out liberal lawyers who become liberal judges Plea bargaining by lazy prosecutors Failure to promptly carry out the death penalty following the loss of the 3rd appeal. Liberal citizenry who will vote for Governors who don't believe in the death penalty. (Should be a go/no-go litmus test.) These crimes are horrific national tragedies, yet the admin uses the red herring of (imagined) global climate change to cover their lack of humanity. That Sir, is how I see it...

And few will acknowledge the real damage done to our malleable youngsters by the crap Hollywood liberals spew via violent video games. Plus the porn on cable channels that is easily accessible by those too young to have context. We have failed ourselves by not having more recall elections to sweep the trash out of office. With our population now massively diluted by illegals and those on the dole, it's going to be difficult if not impossible to change direction.
