  1. At least the junk yard guy was gonna keep it....wonder if he did If he's 80 now, he would have been born in 1934, so his "teens" would have been '47-'53(13-19)..... If his memory isn't broke, there's a window at least. Wonder if he could name the scrapper so we could try and track him down.....
  2. Both our F450 diesels have toolbox/300l fuel tanks in em...... Worked great before they started filling the tank with dyed diesel..... The one didn't have enough fuel to make it back from site and suddenly my comments about keeping clear in em for the amount they get used and being able to help anyone (equipment or road vehicle) hit the boss man like a freight train.... Damn I hate being right.....lol
  3. "Damnit!!! I told that idiot to take the roll top trailer to the quickie unload!!"
  4. Also curious....the "grandfather" will eventually run out on my Granite..... Have a solid lift now, but it WILL need to be self-steering eventually....
  5. Happy 4th of July guys to all you...... From north of the border
  6. Thanks again everyone.....
  7. The old RD has one on the tank, but no one hs ever used it or oiled it, so its stuck....... But, AYE, the GU is getting one this week.....maybe......hopefully.....
  8. Thanks fellas!!!! Had to work today but out for dinner with the family....and having a few beers.....she can drive home lol
  9. The talkshow guy on 570 News did a 30 min bit on this today....I missed most of it as I was cleaning up after the stupid roofers......
  10. Don't think too hard .......something might overheat...... Lol
  11. I also only have daughters, and though the truck isn't mine, they have seen it a bunch of times, and both love it ( oldest one REALLY likes the air horn, but I gotta crank the seat all the way up so she can reach).....if I owne my own it would be "&daughters"...... Anyone who said it was girly could kiss my a**.... But then again, I don't generally give a s**t what people think or say of me......
  12. I also run an EPA10 MP7. I've only had to do three parked regents, and all three I remember thinking that the egt was not high enough.....but the last one occurred at 80,000km (ish) and I haven't had to do one since, now at 142,000km......must have been ok
  13. To all my fellow canucks..... HAPPY CANADA DAY!!! Get out and enjoy all this land has to offer!!
  14. One farm I worked on had a 250kva genset powered by a cat 3406 that would fire and run straight to 1800(ish) revs.....but, when grid power was on, it had heaters that kept the coolant warm (120* on the read out) and the oil warm.......
  15. I "trained" on the light hood on my gu, I gotta near hang off the rd hood to close us softly, all 150lbs of me.....I'll attest to that dog being SOLIDLY attached lol
  16. .....and should they need work,.you need brains and tools, instead of computers and gadgets....... Congrats
  17. I check oil, coolant, ps fluid, start the truck &turn on the lights (clearance/marker/ID) both sets of floods, the highs and 4-ways. Get out, check under the hood one more time, close the hood, check tires and lights, turn off highs, 4-ways and floods, then get dirty checking out the underside and roll off frame.....after all that (about 20mins), I'll turn the idle up.....this time of year it's at about 120* by then.
  18. I betcha he f'ed up and there was supposed to be another zero on that....
  19. Wow.....
  20. II though I had a brochure on my tablet with the engine specifics for the MP7, but now.I can't find it. Tried Google and got a bunch of things, but not what I was looking for... I don't know how reliable this info is, but seems about right....... Says 1400rpm cruise for MP7 405-M, which is 90km/h in 8th gear (Eaton 8LL Over)......that would be why I get better milage hauling gravel out of Paris (max speed 80km/h + 10) than hauling a light load of trash out of Richmond Hill (max 100km/h on the 401, and electronically limited @ 105km/h)
  21. Put a hook loader on it. Hauling trash/debris is fun.....most of the time....... You would be one other few fellas that could lift and carry a 5-15cy can FULL of almost without being over.....
  22. Passed one going west yesterday on the 401. Had a concrete pumper body on it......
  23. Unless mack rears are fundamentally different from vendor rears, from what I understand, as long as the axles aren't slipping engaging at low speed will not hurt it....like diff locks, if they're slipping and you hit the lock, the shock load will potentially destroy the lockers and associated components......
  24. Yeah, that's the one. Thanks 2stack )
