  5. Couple frame pic present condition
  6. I think I will pick me up a camera. Im using my phone camera and its not to good. There is more rust on the frame than I thought now that the tank is off. Connor is needling the frame the last few hours while I was out pumping septics. I will need to replace some frame bolts as I need to take off some tank straps from frame. The new straps that hold tank on are spring loaded so the frame can flex a bit and not crack tank. The frame will take a lot longer to clean up than expected and I think I will put another cross member in it. The rears are also leaking pretty good, so looks like this may take me some time to finish up.
  7. Pictures didn't work first time.
  8. My son and I got the tank picked off the Superliner this week and set on blocks for sandblasting. Now comes some work on the truck , first is clean the frame up then replace the trunion bushings.

  13. Great job on the truck. I love the red!
  14. Heres a pic of my other truck. White cab and red tank. After Superliner is done I would like to update the Ford L8000 to a single axle MR.
  15. Looking for red and white cab pics . May do something like this or at least red pin stripe.
  16. Yes, putting tank back on after sandblasting 4 coats of paint off it. First I have a lot of work to do on truck. I and going to get the frame back to Red color which will take some doing. You can see in this pic it was Red originally. Truck will be painted white and tank will be red to match my other septic truck.
  17. Question : Steers are 1100 / 24.5 , this is the only good tire on truck . I plan to put on 10 new tires. Can I change the front to 1200's or would I need a wider wheel? The wheels are Alcoa not sure on size , but the 1100's fit fine.
  18. Couple pics from this winter to spice up the thread. This was in the garage to remove lettering and cut tank straps loose.
  19. Does anyone here know or remember Jim Humphrey? He is in the red hat. This is who I got crane from and he lives a couple of miles away . He and his father restored Mack trucks for years . His fathers name was George Humphrey. They are located in Gray / New Gloucester, Maine. Jim said they would use this crane to lift the trucks off the trailers and set on ground. I believe George was restoring these trucks along with some employees and also was connected with Erv Bickford. Anyways he has a lot of Mack truck pictures on the walls that they restored and I wondered if anyone here owned one. I think some are owned by Gary Mahan. Ok thanks. doug
  20. forgot to post this pic on last post.
  21. Hope to lift tank off this week . While I have the tank off to sandblast I am going to go through the truck a bit. First is to do the trunion bushings. Have always hired that out, but want to do these myself.
  22. I just wrote a shit load and it got deleted twice as I lost connection. Pisses me off. Here a 1942 UNIT crane I picked up to lift the tank off the Superliner.
