  1. Welcome aboard mate. Lots going on here, from Vegemite to girls to pics of what people did this week.... oh and even the odd truck related topic.
  2. Dunno about the USA, but down under we use a cab over when we have 1, length restrictions or 2, tight access. Vision is miles better in a cab over. Cabovers tend to weigh a bit less. Example, my 130t rated cabover weighs 10.5t. My mate's 130t rated T909 weighs 13t. Resale on a cab over is a lot less down here, so 2nd hand ones are lots cheaper. And finally, if there were demand for a COE in the USA, I bet they would start making them. No point making something not many people want.
  3. You guys have done an awesome job on old gus. Looks fantastic! Hope you get many years of good times from it. Enjoy!
  4. Well the internet is a wonderful thing. I just googled "b model Mack" and the town which I seen it and voila! And for educational purposes I stole it for you all. It wasn't Hanks just to clarify.
  5. A good friend of mine has a single overdrive 18sp with 3.9's. He is doing 100km/h or 60mph at 1750rpm. My guess is you could get 60mph by around 1950rpm.
  6. There was a guy who I was speaking to one time said he made a mould of his b front then made an exact replica out of fibreglass. I've seen it passing by but not well enough to critique his work.
  7. The girl in the fluro yellow shirt will never fall flat on her face! Not with a chest like that.
  8. Sorta hard to tell by the pics, but if the bullet kept going looks like it could of hit him? There are some seriously f'ed up people who would do this for fun.
  9. Customers seem to embrace these remakes of older trucks. Imagine if Mack made 1000 new superliners? Or R models... they would sell out in a few days.
  10. You should be able to rob some off any other brake chamber to get you going. Just be sure to put them back.
  11. Thanks for your replies. I'll definitely try and clean and sand as best I can. I picked up a new muffler off eBay for less then $100 shipped to Aus. Nice stainless job, they claim it's made in the USA. Thats it next to my original one. Hope it sounds good.
  12. Weren't the cams different for dynatard?
  13. Sounds ok. Do you need to cure the paint any special way? I've seen some brands say to run the vehicle for 10 mins or so but my truck won't be able to run for a month or so as it's got no fuel tanks just yet.
  14. Is there anything you guys use to coat your exhaust? Ive used high temp exhaust paint before on my kw but it's still rusting. Can't remember the brand. Didn't use a primer and not sure if you need too? An acquaintance has had his exhaust hot dipped which is basically galvanised. Not sure if they need the exhaust super clean to do that. I didn't want to go the ceramic coating way, as it a working truck and the bits I'm doing won't be seen. And not sure of cost of ceramic coating? Thanks in advance.
  15. It's always handy to know a cop, for when you have a check engine light come on... Said no one, ever! Until now.
  16. I still can't see a beach... what am I missing?
  17. I was wondering how you did it. Nice work.
  18. Nice to hear from you mate. Good job on the weight loss, I know it can be very hard. Hope to hear from you a bit more. Take it easy Mike.
  19. Yeah I remember it being weird. I was wondering wether you could cut the original mount down, maybe add some brackets and slot a standard radiator in place? With out pics it's hard to say... It won't be original but sometimes functional beats originality.
  20. Got any pics of the said part? Ive seen one in here a long time ago but I need a refresh.
  21. That's a beauty! im hesitant about finishing my Mack cause I know when I do it will have to park outside.
  22. Could you get cat and cummins in the cl? Is the a chu bonnet in that one?
  23. Is that a grader-cycle? Haha, that's brilliant!
  24. The L cab was sheet metal over a frame correct? Maybe the b cabs were lighter and stronger? There's your sales pitch right there!
