  1. I was about 5 seconds away from having my own video a few weeks ago as a bright spark decided to do a U turn in front of me. I've noticed that some people drive with blinkers (as in eye covers) on and aren't aware of anything else around them. Glad im not involved in any of them.
  2. Cummins have a 3.8l from the same family. That would fit a little better? The only problem I see is that cars are so disposable would many people spend thousands on them when the engine goes? If the car was old they would scrap it, if it was still decent they would put 2nd hand engine. Just my 2c.
  3. Turns out I have 38k anti sway springs. They are good yeah?
  4. Ok, I'll start things off. Doesn't Volvo already make a women's truck? Lol, that's the hardest part about driving one, climbing in and out in high heels!
  5. I'm no expert but I think your right in your way of thinking.
  6. I gotta recover my wood grain panels at some stage, but i gotta fill in a fair few holes first. My question is, does the vinyl stick to body filler or primer or is bare metal best?
  7. I remember once when my dad gave me money to pay the electricity bill but instead i bought a raffle ticket for a brand new car. When i got home,i explained to my dad what i did and he beat the crap out of me. But the next day, when my dad woke up and opened the door, outside my house was a brand new car. We all cried especially me, because the car was from the electricity company, they were there to cut off the electricity, my dad beat the crap out of me again.
  8. From the chalk line to back of chassis is about 120cm. About 50 inches.
  9. I'll get measurements of mine today. I think you could get the 60 inches you want, or near enough to it by doing it as suggested above.
  10. I'm not sure why, but Aussie ones are completely different. I measured mine and it can in around 123mm? What's up with that's? Seriously though, is he talking about width from front to back? Or from inside to outside?
  11. I've pulled my ass end apart and yeah mine has been extended at some stage. As the rest have said, it was joined between the trunnion bolts and had some frame inserts added. As for the crack in the flange, I hope it turns out to be an easy fix. Would be a lot easier to fix that and add on the end.
  12. We never got Freightliner down under before the 90's. Were the older ones decent trucks?
  13. Queenslands are probably a bit worse sorry Pauly! It's official, she has knocked ice road truckers Lisa off as my favourite trucker.
  14. Yeah I sure did. It reads 4QK4001A.
  15. Vlad, you're right. I was told 34k diffs use a 5 spoke hub and 8 bolts on axle. Same guy told me 38k use 6 spoke hub and 6 bolts for axles, but I've seen 6 spoke hubs with 8 bolts in axle. I've found part numbers for 38k springs in this conversation here- Also, the narrow part of the housing that goes to wheels is a bit different. 34k is round and 38k is more squared (so I was told).
  16. With two intake tubes going under the bonnet, would that mean it's a coolpower? In 1987?
  17. If another company were to buy Mack, I think they would have to give it number one priority. VW have several others brands, and I wonder if Mack would get the attention it needed.
  18. That looks like the truck raneys use to advertise their Mack r model bumpers.
  19. Is that the 2v or 4v engine?
  20. So what is the local content of all these "locally" built trucks? I mean, does Volvo just import a chassis, a cab and put it together here or is there a fair bit more? I know Mack here in Aus has their own unique models, designed and built here. An Aussie-built Mack is totally different to a US built one. Same goes for Kenworth. So is the term "locally built" a bit of a stretch to describe the Volvo?
  21. Nice find. I don't think the prognosis would of been good if you guys didn't take her. An RW600... Does that mean it was a glider?
  22. That's super b double is really heavy on its axle groups. Like, really really heavy. That wouldn't be good on aging infrastructure.
  23. That might of been some time ago. Every where I go road trains can do 100.
