  1. Judging by your other trucks, I get the feeling this one is gonna have a happy ending! Look forward to the journey.
  2. So you don't use a primer under por 15?
  3. I had a mate who had same thing happen on a KW. Try and find another bonnet so your repairer can take a mould. Or find a damaged bonnet going cheap to cut up. Its do-able but depends on price of labour. My mate told me down here the KW bonnet brand new was going to cost $9,000.
  4. It's tough to compare the two. The c12 most likely has a 13 or 18 speed behind it which would help it. But if that 300 is running right, you will be staggered at how well it will pull. I have a 2v 300 and I'm blown away with how it performs.
  5. Throw in the trailer full of beer and I'll take next week off and join you.
  6. Give me a truck with over 1 mil on the clock and 10 years old, then we can talk about interior quality.
  7. Sounds like you need a drink!
  8. That really unsafe her riding like that in front of you. Wear a damn helmet love!
  9. Nothing in general. Lots of people still use conventional prime movers. But 85% of our population is on the east coast, between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Between them cities is only a b-double route, and when your limited to 26m that big bonnet is just a luxury. I think it's 2 extra pallet spaces. And semi trailers must not exceed 19m long. I drive a COE for the same reason except I'm limited to 36.5m. I can fit 2 and a half trailers where a bonneted truck would only fit 2. Also, around town, backing into shed or getting into tight spots in a COE is so easy. The turning circle is miles better.
  10. Here in Aus there is a company that sells sports mufflers. The muffler body is only 7 inches wide. The sound they make is beautiful deep noise, loud but not excessive. They look like this.
  11. Trying to find them injectors here in Aus is another thing. Let me know how it all goes.
  12. I'm not too familiar with the etech and ccrs engines. I do remember reading a post about a guy putting bigger injectors and a series 60 turbo. I'll try find the link.
  13. Makes my truck look like a toy!
  14. That's the mother of all winches on the old bulldog!
  15. That old girl is beautiful. And for a tipper it's perfect for the job. If your ever chasing parts, do yourself a favour and give Gleemans a try. They specialise in the older Mack stuff. Truck world didn't even return my calls when I told them it was an R model I needed parts for.
  16. Question, how do you tell a c15 from a c16? The c16 is the one with a hole in the side of the block! Boom-tish! Can't say anything bad about the c12 or c15 though.
  17. I'm driving a c15 now days, but when I was driving an isx I'd split gears at 1500-1400 but on big hills I'd do a full gear at 1400-1300. I wonder how these new ones are compared to the old ones?
  18. I'm NOT a mechanic. But could you have swapped that injector with say, no 6 injector? Then if problem still occurs then may not be injector. And if no 6 piston melts like previous no 5 it could be injector issue? Just thinking outside of the box.
  19. I've not driven any of these newer Cummins' but if they are anything like the pre egr isx I would never lug them below 1400rpm. They just seem to fall flat on its face. Above 1400, they make unbelievable power and economy.
  20. Try big rig bullbars. Just got off the phone to him. He makes custom tanks, j brackets and tons of other stuff for old Macks. Price seems very reasonable too.
  21. Did they perhaps model the superliner on the cruiseliner? Take the F and R models, they share a similar style. And I've noticed the superliner and cruiseliner have a similar grill.
  22. That's awesome! It's more than a truck now, it's a family heirloom. My dad bought the KW I drive brand new in 2003, and I will never jump out of it for a newer truck.
  23. Looks like euro/Japanese stud pattern. Would it be a fair guess to say its built on a Hino chassis?
  24. Thank you good sir. I figure it was better to ask first, then weld.
  25. Is there a special way you guys weld up holes? Stick or mig best way? I've got a few extra holes in my rails which is like to fill up but have never done it before.
