  1. I've heard of people using a drill to test them.
  2. I've never done it before, but I'd be tempted to use body filler. Because it's been sand blasted, it will have a rough-ish finish and should stick well enough.
  3. And here is a guy from Qld who has/had some spares parts. Might be worth a call. It was advertised on this site in 2013.
  4. There are companies that make custom head gaskets. http://www.coppergaskets.com.au http://www.swansonsgaskets.com.au/setup.htm
  5. Thanks for sharing Paul. Brave men indeed, and if it weren't for these brave men I wouldn't be living the life I am. Thanks.
  6. This sounds strange, but same thing happens to me sometimes. I found if I have edited the pic, zoom or crop, or rotate pic 180 degrees and save it and rotate 180 again it will work. If the pic is untouched it won't work. Truck is looking good!
  7. How old is this photo? It awesome to see an old Mack like this still working.
  8. Job well done. Love it when a plan comes to fruition.
  9. Thanks guys. Yeah the results are great. It helps that we didn't cut any corners. Although the guy doing it is slow (I was warned about it), he really is passionate about trailers. Hopefully have some pics with the ramps attached on Friday.
  10. Trailer not far off being done. Just need to fit the ramps and hydraulics. Sure has taken a while.
  11. I'll admit I like the American style cruiseliner with the round head lights better than the square lights.
  12. Hi Paul, welcome aboard mate. Nice looking truck, and lots of smart blokes here who will help you out.
  13. Hi and welcome to BMT. I'm from Perth also. Good to get a few locals on here. Regarding your tanks, do you want 24.5inch or 26 inch? Most valueliners had 26 inch aluminium tanks. You can still get them new, but they are something like $2500 per tank. Other options would be 2nd hand or wrecker ones. Or make new ones using old step pressings. Holmwood highgate had a stand at the truck show a few years ago and they reckoned they could make new ones. I haven't looked into them.
  14. In my dads, when you go from direct to hi is fine. But when you preselect direct before shifting the stick it will sometimes jump back down a gear. This mainly happens in 1st in my dads. In other gears it preselects fine.
  15. I personally find the Mack 12 speed to be a lot noisier. My old mans one has a whine once it gets a bit higher in speed. Also a bit more noise when changing. Not as many gears as your 13 speed. Definitely try it if you get a chance.
  16. I think you'd have better conversation on this bus. A bit less shit talking too!
  17. Ya know what, I really liked looking at them pics. Looks a bit complicated for myself however. I drive an 18 speed everyday so it's good to see the inside of one. Thanks for sharing.
  18. My dad has a e7 400. It seems to go ok, but I have nothing to compare it too. My 2v e6 seems to pull better empty/bobtail if I were to compare the two. But it could come down to gearing. Im with felicello122, if it's a nice truck I wouldn't worry about the 50hp. There is a thread on here about giving the 350 a bit of extra fuel. They seem to respond well, if your interested.
  19. With all local car manufacturing finishing, I think that is probably what we will see more of. Ford already have a 2 wheel drive, 2 door version of the ranger that will most likely take its place.
  20. Up until a few years ago I had only ever owned Falcons. First one I had was an XB which I put on its roof, it kept going strong afterward but the headroom was affected. So im a little bit saddened by this news.
  21. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the crank pulley on an e6. Just on the outta lip is ok, don't need it taken from bottom of V. Are they all the same?
  22. They are a big unit. I honestly wouldn't fit that inside my garage! Weather looks nice up there in Qld.
  23. Hubs, drums, maybe studs if none in the hubs, seal, hub cap, and of course rims. I think you should do it if you really want to. I agree about how cool they look.
  24. I bumped into this Titan pulling a train. Well, not a complete train, just the loco.
  25. I hope they kick some goals with this truck. Great little idea and it'll give some of the bigger manufacturers something to think about.
