  1. Fixing loose fitting and noisey interior panels by using sound deadener is sorta fixing the symptom and not the cause? But this is the thinking of all truck makers now days, instead of redesigning the interior and using better quality materials they do this....
  2. I would expect anything with a Mack part number to be more expensive than an aftermarket product. My brother has jb speaker brand lights and he likes them.
  3. If I were to say just one, it would have to be the superliner. That big bonnet and grill makes it look like the King of the road and I'm certain it was!
  4. Good work Barry. You've done a wonderful thing. Happy Easter.
  5. 1st of April? Is this an April fools day joke?
  6. Fantastic! A job well done, now enjoy it.
  7. Try the hot rod kits. They do away with all the gears and arms and run on a cable I think.
  8. In today's world I would of thought that so long as it didn't blow black smoke and the exhaust smelt like roses no one would of cared if it suffered complete steering loss? I hope no accidents were caused due to this fault.
  9. These are no connection to me. But they are very close and I'd be happy to inspect and take photos for anyone interested. I know they are getting hard to find. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/1107607449

  10. Legs are good... But they usually end up making an ass of themselves!
  11. Top job on finding that one. Its nice to hear you intend to work it too.
  12. Nice looking RD. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I imagine it will be a desirable truck once it's completed.
  13. If that were me, I would hardly sleep in Sunday night knowing I was going to be picking that up. And I'd probably sleep in my work clothes! Nice to see its nearly done. And nice to see your going to be working it.
  14. Shit, what a horrible/pointless death. R.I.P. Where we work if I'm pulling out of a shed or into a shed I have to sound my horn. If like you say a beeper becomes white noise maybe that could help? Or worse case, have a spotter. On on a lighter note, coil inspecting is one thing but the rack the coils sit in is just as important. So maybe a rack inspector to follow the coil inspector?
  15. I think some advantages are they bolt to the outside of the frame so easier to remove. I've never seen any other than pictures, but being cast they might not have the cavities and rust problems of the fabricated type. I also suspect they would be heavier also.
  16. Just looked at the specs of the Eastwood 135. Nice little machine. One thing I look for is amperage range. If you intend to do sheet metal you wanna be able to back it right down. That one goes as low as 25 which is good. A nice little welder trolley is worth its weight in gold!
  17. Still won't resize on a mobile but is easy to use once zoomed in. I like that if I post a YouTube link, it will put the actual video on not just the link.
  18. Wow, look what I've missed on this thread! Nice work buddy, you ain't wasting any time!
  19. Nice save! She was a big unit in her day. Looks like it has what we call eagle claw suspension, the cast iron camelback. The doors on my r model were cactus as well. It's been the most expensive part of the build yet getting two new doors.
  20. Was chatting to a mate about this today, heard it a few years ago but it's still funny. Caution it does contain swearing!
  21. That steering wheel... Looks to be 10mm chain? Surely 8mm chain would suffice. Paul is right, if you have a v8 superliner here in Aus it will attract big dollars. After reading the rarity of parts on here, I will never own one, not for the prices they want.
  22. Do you want me to ask my mack parts boys down under? We used the e9 until the very late 90's. Might be just worth a question?
  23. Looks fantastic. You have some really neat equipment by the looks of it.
  24. Thanks guys. I appreciate all the replies and your suggestions. fingers crossed we can get to the bottom of this.
