  1. Do you still have the priming pump on the side of the fuel pump? I've not seen any on any diesels we have except the Cummins isx. Do they use them in place of a hand priming pump?
  2. Try and do that today...
  3. Regardless of the visor, it's good to see another Mack truck getting some love. Didn't look to bad to start with...
  4. I can give you the the recipe to a lovely mice stew. Get a big pot of water, bring it to the boil. Now get a rock, roughly the same size as the mice. Place both in the boiling water, cook it until the mice is just getting tender. Drain the water, throw the mice away and eat the rock! Bon appetite!
  5. Western star in Aus imports glider kits as to offer a Cummins engine. I was always told that Cummins was the owner-drivers choice.
  6. Very interesting. Some nice paint schemes there.
  7. I did notice they sent the Macks through first. If the Macks got stuck then leave that kw there till the water goes down!
  8. Thanks guys. And that's something you can take great pleasure in saying!
  9. ARE WE HAVING A SHOUTING CONTEST?
  10. One of them Macks looked to be steam powered!
  11. I'm 34 and my wife is 39, she feels that time is against her. We figure we have two healthy boys so we might not roll the dice. Mustn't have been much on Tele for a number of years?
  12. That's a cool bus! Have you read the story about Cummins entering a diesel in the Indy 500?
  13. That's a lot better colour at least!
  14. It's our 2nd one, both boys about 2 years apart. This little guy is probably going to be our last one, so I'm gonna make every little moment with him count.
  15. The initial cost are low, but it's the upkeep that's gonna get me! Jin, yes this little beauty has an internal egr. Works very good too! And actually produces its own def! Dpf needs changing often. Seriously he is doing very well, he slept for the most part of the night, but I was up at every little tiny squeak he made. Thanks for the nice messages guys. Means a lot.
  16. Got some pics of my brand new one. I ordered it about 9 months ago, yeah it's a bit of a wait but it's good quality and I don't mind waiting. Gives me time to make room for it.
  17. So the diff is getting done at the moment. The process is called metal arc spraying. A hand piece has to wires fed through it, one negative and one positive. When they arc out compressed air blows the atomised metal onto the surface. They guy said it's much better than the old method. He said he will use a stainless steel wire which should create a lot harder surface than original. And yes, it has to be ground back. Sound very interesting.
  18. Is that for the f and r model interchangeable grill? I asked my local parts guy for that one and was told can't get it anymore so aftermarket would have to do. Mine was rusted out so at least plastic won't do that.
  19. Just remember, this isn't peanut butter so don't go wacking 1/4 inch of it on your toast. I have it on toast, and use a generous amount of butter to get a good even coverage.
  20. Do you just replace one of the normal oil filters on the side of the motor? I've got 3, but I've heard nothing but good things about these filters so I'd like to try them.
  21. My mate had a new governor that was set high at 1000kpa which is about 150psi. He pulled the black plastic cover off the bottom and set it lower. Seems funny that your old one done it too.
  22. Is the problem that it sits at 150 now instead of 120? Or does it continually build to 150 then drop to 120 and repeat every few minutes?
