  1. G'day Riddler, welcome to BMT!
  2. Merry Christmas to everyone. I've got my 2yo boy unwrapping his presents, and having a family lunch where I'm drinking some yanky beer (millers genuine draft, it's a nice drop). And have a happy new year!
  3. There are companies around that specialise in doing this stuff. Do you need any special size fuel tank caps? I know Mack in Aus use a 4 inch fuel cap. Look at trp fuel tanks. They don't look too bad, but not sure if they will be an exact match up.
  4. My local parts bloke reckons PAI do nearly every part for the mack e6. Which is reassuring to know...
  5. My guess is Mack Australia did it themselves. Let's not forget that the same engine in a Volvo puts out 700hp with the same gearbox. So 685hp is still less than the "flagship" Volvo. Mack Australia probably wanted the extra hp for the marketing side (it's around 4th behind other makes) and also for the road train market.
  6. I think it's only limited by your imagination. I reckon if you were to go ahead you'd wanna look at lots of different ways to mount up the hood as that's is going to be your biggest hurdle. I'll post a pic of my dads Mack when I get a chance as it has a clever way to mount the hood. If you do go ahead with it, be sure to document it and take lots of pics cause it would make interesting reading.
  7. That's a big truck! Thanks for that swishy.
  8. You guys like your cat powered Macks. Is that a 3406e?
  9. I know Volvo in Aus use and exhaust brake in combination with an engine brake. Says so on their website... http://www.volvotrucks.com/trucks/australia-market/en-au/trucks/Volvo%20FL/Chassis/Brakes/Pages/Brakes.aspx Not sure how well it works, but I imagine pretty well.
  10. Starting to look like a truck again!
  11. It's turning out to be one hell of a nice parts truck!
  12. Sorry to hear that. Get well soon mate!
  13. Fantastic! Love the colour scheme!
  14. I believe gearhead was referring to Hendrickson ar2. Which is an air ride version of the walking beam set up. If you want to convert to primax, I'd be looking for 2nd hand.
  15. Well said Sir.
  16. Have you tried one of them paintless dent removal guys? They have all sorts of fancy tools to get into tight spaces and usually they remove the dent without the need to repaint it. Just a thought.
  17. I was thinking the same. Great Mack working hard by the looks of it!
  18. Well done on the extension of the frame. Looks like a good job was done. Now to hang some lights somewhere...
  19. Is that the Kenworth with the Mack v8 in it? I've heard about that truck. Though someone was pulling my leg!
  20. Sounds pretty fair, is that 25% of the cost of new tyres? I've seen a few posts about tyre prices over there in the states, and I think your paying too much for them! Anyway, you could always put a regroover on them tyres to give you a few more mm of tread.
  21. Some people will love it, the more traditional folks will wonder why. I think it's pretty cool. It certainly goes well with the green paint! Is it a Mack gearbox?
  22. That's he best way to secure a wobbly bridge. This guy is a hero!
  23. I read the story about you importing that truck. And only just a few weeks ago a bloke was telling me the story of an American who bought his mates Mack... And I wouldn't of believed it had I not read it here first! That one of yours looks very nice! I think Mack made about 50 of the sloped bonnet valueliners with the inline 6 in it. We have a red and white one which is in my gallery, which also has an e7 in it.
