  1. A truck like that will impress lots of 'Hors.
  2. I think B means engine brake. Got my info from this page, so if I'm wrong I'm not really wrong! http://www.hcvc.com.au/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1286326467
  3. Can't wait to see the black paint with polished rims!
  4. A wobble through the steering wheel would make me guess the front wheels are out of balance. But as far as the whole truck, it could be a lot of things. Ive never had the pleasure of experiencing such a thing. I could throw out some ideas however, check your drive shafts. They have a weight welded on to balance them, make sure it hasn't fallen off. Centre bearing and uni joints. Out of round tyre.
  5. Im not familiar with the ones in the trucks in the U.S, but I'm guessing they are plastic? Both my mack, and my dads have the cb in the overhead console... But they were made of metal.
  6. I know what your saying, but I think it would be wasted on this type of set up. For instance, your engine should have a multi speed gearbox to keep you in the right hp/rpm band. I know in my truck, if I change up at say 1700, next gear I'll start at around 1400 and I'm making plenty of boost already. But I'm not trying to talk you out of it, it would be cool to see something like that. And I'm always thinking of things I'd like to try, but I don't think you'd see much benifits. P.S. Hope you prove me wrong.
  7. So what makes them safer?
  8. It's pretty good stuff! I use it on paint also. But I mix it with 50% water and don't leave it on for long.
  9. Very nice, clean cab. Is it a big job to swap them over?
  10. Is it just me, or is the angle on the front of theblue fender more laid back than the yellow one? To me, the change is so small it would have to of been done for a reason. Like it was said here earlier, maybe the headlights needed to be a certain height from the ground?
  11. "Today we mark the closure of the first of what we hope are many cases." That's says a lot right there. If they truely believe truck emissions cause birth defects, wouldn't they be hoping for no cases?
  12. I know if your lifting the front of a truck to pull it, you have to remove the drive shaft... So maybe they meant it's easier to hook up to the rear? And maybe its slightly lighter to lift the rear end?
  13. Waiting for spacer plate to get made. Will cost $40 each side which isn't too bad I thought. Got my new Accuride wheels out of the box and put some dunlops on them and thought id show you guys how it looks. Put some ceramic balancing beads in to test out. Can anyone tell me how much weight is on the front axle of an R model when fully loaded? I'm used to driving a cab over and they are always up on their weight.
  14. Is the vibration coming through the steering wheel?
  15. I'm looking at them solid tyres in dirt and wondering how they didn't get stuck! Especially loaded like they are.
  16. I've got some spacers being made now. I used the drum to make a template. I looked at getting a smaller tie rod end but I'd still need to run spacers. Hopefully I can post some pics of it completed by Monday. Appreciate all input from everyone.
  17. L/h side is only just touching. I can spin the tyre by hand. R/h side is a bit tighter. Can't spin the tyre. I reckon a 5/16 spacer would work. My mate reckons if I drive it long enough there will eventually become a clearance.
  18. Don't tempt me Paul!
  19. Thanks Allen, I'll see if I can sort something out today. Appreciate the input.
  20. It's certainly a beautiful truck. Sad to hear what happened to it.
  21. I can confirm the axle in the morning, but I'm pretty sure it's a mack 12,000lb axle. Hubs are genuine mack hf 725. I wonder if a spacer plate would work? Or a better alternative would be to use a straight cross steering lever. As mine is bend down, and that's why it's hitting the rim. A lot of the Macks in the USA have 10 stud rims so would love to know how they do it?
  22. They are standard 8-1/4 inch rims. Am I supposed to run a spacer on them?
