  1. I had the exact same thing happen, only mine was on air bag which is completely different. I ended up putting new shocks and and bolts on mine and it went away. Can you get your old insulators and try them out?
  2. What irks me is how much money the government has thrown at the local car manufacturers (mostly Holden) to keep local jobs. Then they turn around and say it not economically viable. Yes it is sad to see them go, but fact is people wanted smaller cars, more fuel efficient and they didn't change. Anyway, we are rumoured to get the camaro, and already have the mustang so I'm happy with them two racing at Bathurst.
  3. I've just had some fuel tank brackets made for my truck. Find a good fab or engineering shop, they will make a template and cut it and press and it will just like a new one. The fab shop that did mine used a higher grade steel so they shouldn't brake again. Best of luck with it mate.
  4. Yeah nice little find Paul.
  5. I’ve heard of a brand that uses an engine brake and an exhaust brake together, and apparently works well.
  6. Nice job on the interior clean out. And fixing all them little things, I always like jumping in an old truck and all them little things work. Shows the owner looks after it.
  7. Oh man I’m hearing you about the mice. I park my truck out in the sticks and occasionally we get the odd mouse in the truck. I was trying to sleep one night when I heard a russeling and felt a little bastard run over me. Needless to say, I made a few miles that night.
  8. Nice work so far. Should clean up to be a real nice old truck.
  9. Happy birthday! And nice score... I’ll be following.
  10. You don’t happen to have a link for the stainless inserts? i think Albury electroplating want about $270 per rim, super chrome in Sydney even more.
  11. You can get your normal rims electroplated if you can’t find any to buy. Chances are they will be a lot better quality than the cheap ones. But finding the right company to do it is another matter. Best of luck.
  12. Sorry, bugger all means very little.
  13. They are very similar to our valueliner, which I believe came out in '87.
  14. That was their thinking years ago, to run a big engine with a small load for fuel economy. Hence the cummins k19 and 3408 cat as well as Mack v8. But fuel economy is a speculative thing. Unless you can compare the two on the same day, with the same load and the same driver you will never have a true comparison. And the difference would be bugger all when empty id say.
  15. It's a dying art what he is doing. Now days it's all done using vinyl stickers. We had all our trailers done by a bloke in Toowoomba when they were new.
  16. Does the conventional and coe hino share the same cab? Nothing wrong with Japanese trucks, they are reasonably simple and real work horses. I quite like the one pictured.
  17. Just my opinion, but I'd stick with what the truck came with from factory. Makes the whole job a bit easier.
  18. Anything the government sticks it nose in usually turns to shit. A 20 yo truck would have a series 60, n14 or c15 in it now days. Hardly the black smoke pumping things the politicians are thinking of when they say around watching "dual" and came up with these ideas.
  19. I know of a 525hp v8 in perth, guy is asking $12,000. Only problem is it's came out of a salt truck. Getting bolts out of it becomes a problem so I've been told.
  20. My brother rang about the one with the serious 60 to see if it had indeed sold. It had.
  21. I love it! Despite what everyone is saying, it's still packed with features like, - A mattress. - A water tight roof. - Doors that can be opened when the temperature inside gets warm. - And a convenient box below with separate doors to hold tools and spares in. Everything you need, nothing you don't
  22. Do you have led or bulb lights on the truck? I had a similar thing where the trailer brake lights stayed on, only when park lights were on.
  23. Jim your a legend! I've been chasing them for a while, now I've found the Australian distributor. Thanks mate.
  24. I think in this topic she would have had a lot of knowledge. But she was too close minded on a lot of other topics. All in all, she brought balance to the website and a different opinion and I certainly have noticed her not being here.
  25. I can respect his decision. A little time away never hurt anyone. And hope he sorts out all his issues.
