Mass Construction Trucks

do any of you guys have any pics of the macks that worked on the big dig site? This rig worked on one phase from the start to near the end. Most were O/O's working though brokers and many were WBE's. This is a RS 700,3406 A series, 13sp., Mack 44's, 60" spacing Hendrickson spring. Good specs at that time, only thing Mack is the cab and axles. I know the owner and was always the first in line, be at pit 4AM for a 6AM start. Picture late 80's at my pit loading impervious clay for a landfill job. He worked many years with the R model, at the end he moved to a new KW with Cat power. I can get more pictures but might take awhile. FW -

Repowering a b613

The bigger bore, combustion to close to the water holes. Mack gave you the aluminum plugs for the close water holes and new gaskets worked. FW -
For clean up they took anything with a dump body, 10 wheelers worked all night for 2 months. Local sand and gravel co. came to me for any 673 engines or parts to get trucks running from the their parts trucks and all the pit trucks were there. No registrations nothing. FW

This is the LJ the Kesseli & Morse Co. used to deliver their masonry supplies. Went to a local concrete form contractor to haul form panels, then a farm had and I don't think they used it, I got it about 1999. long double frame, 707,and 24" tires. -

Tallest cab over

I didn't know Mack made a cabover until I bought this one in 1967, and rebuilt it in 1980. More interesting cabover information, This is from the Diamontd T sales sheet; 1955 New release in the cabover model 921C, double wall aluminum cab, insulated fiberglass roof, and the first ones used L model Mack doors. Don't know if it is true or not but a Mack engineer left Mack to develop the Diamont T cabover. Later production the top of the door was squared off. Might be similar to the G model Mack and KW sitituation. -

Taken in the early 80's , I tried to buy this truck, but waste company donated it to a local B 61, B 67? not sure of power , I think inline. vocational school mechanics class, I am told it has been restored and may still be around. Worcester MA 1980's B615 SX, long wheelbase and the company built the roll-off hoist in the 60's and claim to be the first one in Massachusetts. FW -
Or you can do it this way, 1.00 divide .67 = 149.2 149.2 divide .84 = 177.6 1.00 divide 177.6 =.563 FW

Interesting Brockway
fifth wheel replied to fifth wheel's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
The truck has a Brockway cab but the cowl is R Mack, front axle, rockwell rears, tanks, battery boxes, and wheelbase are typical of Brockway. Definitely more Brockway than Mack, will do more investigating. FW -
