  1. Pogo Moose Incident- Bracebridge, Ont. Canada 1 hr. 45 min. north of Toronto They were laying cables which were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. This one was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck in the cables. When the men (miles away) began pulling the lines up with their big equipment, the moose went up with the lines. They noticed excess tension on the lines and went searching for the problem. The moose was still alive when they lowered him to the ground. He was a huge 60-inch and pissed!
  2. Free-to a good home, 2 Bridgestone 385/65R22.5 casings. date codes 1309 and 2207
  3. My superliner had a 9sp. in it when I bought it. Pulled it out and replaced it with a 12sp. Backing off road with lowboy, dump trailer and water tanker required a lower reverse. Have all I need with the 12sp.
  4. I run both, lowboy and 25 ton tag. I find it easier with the tag only because when you get to a job, you can drop the trailer and start hauling dirt. It makes it easier for me because I am a one man show (don"t like baby sitting). I keep the lowboy to go along with my superliner but I have that for other jobs as well, including water tanker for filling swimming pools, dump trailer for hauling stumps and boulders, and I also have a hitch on the tractor to pull the tag when needed. I'm sorry but I have a hard time selling anything. Everytime I bring home a new piece, my wife askes me "how many trucks can you drive at one time?" Looking at that CL on ebay right now, if my wife only knew. Like that big horse V-8, but I have pairs of all the rest, 2-B's, 2 RD's, and 2 Superliners, that means I will have to buy 2 CL's! LOL
  5. Total comes to $5,200.00. That's $300 for each bare head, so the spare E-9 I have that I paid $1000 was a good deal, no pump or turbo but still a good deal.
  6. I think the gold dog means it is all mack.
  7. Ok that make sense on why I did not see the second stick for lo-lo
  8. Check the air line you pulled and make sure it is not bloked with something from when the filter came apart. Blow air through the line in both directions.
  9. I just took a closer look at the pictures of this truck. It seems to have an aluminum frame. I would have jumped all over this truck if it was closer. A V-8 with a 12 speed, Nice find. This gives me an idea for a superliner tractor I have that I was putting a tank on for delivering pool water. I can make it that the tank is removable since the water hauling business only lasts 4 or 5 months a year.
  10. I think I saw you today (thursday) on 81 south near Hazleton pulling a double drop flat around 3:30pm. You don't see too many white superliners like yours. Looks good.
  11. I run superflow injectors in both my E-7's. My 2000 Rd with a 400hp is getting 90 more horses but does run hot on hot summers days when pulling a long hill. Not to the point where it is a problem but close. I did add a aluminum radiator. Next step is to add a 427 turbo for more air to get my EGT's down which will help with the high temps. With oversized injectors, the computer does not know what injectors is in the truck, so no codes come up. I had Dale Francis build me a turbo for my superliner with a E-9, getting 38 pounds of boost, with the pump turned up, talk about power.
  12. You will have to change the right side also because the superliner in not indented for the air cleaner.
  13. I too would go with floor heat. I have it in my entire house, including basement, attached garage, main floor and 2nd floor. There is nothing like it in the dead of winter when you have the floor warm and open the door to drive something in or out. and within minutes of closing the door, you can still feel the warm floor. I t does not cool down fast so it does not take long to warm back up. Also you can heat the water with anything you like, coal, wood, oil,and even waste oil. It is not hard to put the tubing in now and hook it up later.
  14. I looked at that truck about 4 or 5 years ago when I was there looking at a different truck. I can't believe they still have it!!!!!!!!
  15. If you get the right offset wheel, the only thing you will have to do is adjust your wheel stops out so the tire does not hit anything when fully turned because if it does and you go through DOT, they will fine you for the tire rubbing anything. I run 385's because you can at least cap them and run them on the lift axle. 425 can not be capped.
  16. One of my B's is a 422. But when I bought it, it was already repowered with a diesel and a 2 stick 9 spd at Allentown Mack back in the early 70's. Funny thing is they never changed the rears which are 6:00 or 7:00 ratio (I forgot which one) which means top speed of one stage above a turtle. I don't have it on the road yet so not a big deal now.
  17. The other day, I stopped at The Blue Ridge Fuel stop in Dorrance, Pa and above the counter were two pictures of a beautiful Yellow B-Model. The truck was longer than most, yellow truck, yellow frame, pulling a yellow 5th wheel travel trailer. 2 "Big" black stacks about 10" or 12" round. The girl behind the counter said the guy lived in the northern states somewhere above Pa. and was heading home from Florida where he stayed over the winter. Does anyone know of the truck or the guy that owns it. I have never seen the truck before or heard about it. The truck was without a doubt a show truck with matching travel trailer. If anyone has pictures of it, please post them. I wish I could have seen it live but only saw pictures.
  18. Moved a machine today and I noticed on a long hill running 70 mph, water temp went to 195, boost was at 35 pds. pyrometer was at 700, and I looked over at the oil temp. and was pushing 250!!!!!!!!!!! I suspect the oil cooler. I want to know if you pull it apart, can you clean them and do you have to replace it. I never had to change one for this reason, just when one would spring a leak and fill the radiator with oil ( what fun to clean). Is there any other reason for high oil temp with no other problems? I'm running Rotella 15/40, same as I've always run, and the oil was just changed about 500 miles ago. I don't think it could be the sending unit or gauge because when you let it idle for about 15 minutes while I loaded the machine, temp. went down to where it should be.
  19. Scroll down in this forum to American Loggers, about 20 topics ago. It has some info on the Pelletier Titans. The first show of this season, they talked about how the one brother rolled the truck and how lucky he was because it rolled on the drivers side.
  20. Truck is a RW. I thought about putting dual outside air cleaners on it, but I just don't like the look of them. I like a clean look of the superliners without air cleaners like the RD's have. I had the fuel turned up when I had the pump rebuilt. The turbo was on it's way out anyway, with play in the bearings, oil was seeping by. Sounds like I should remove the cooler and start cleaning it to make sure I don't have a problem later.
  21. I know how you guys like pictures. 338 tires, 418 tires when the outriggers are deployed. 2 trucks pulling and 3 pushing.
  22. I replaced my turbo on my V-8 with a custom built one from Dale Francis, building 50 pounds of boost. Talk about power. Anyway, when I pulled the air tubes off, there is oil covering the inside of the tube on the hot side only, nothing on the cold side. I am concerned on oil inside the cooler restricting the cooling of air. I thought about pulling the cooler and flushing it with fuel oil to clean the inside. Should I or is it a waste of time. Any thoughts.
  23. In my 94 RD, I would like to add pause wipers. Do you have to change the wiper motor or can you just change the control switch?
  24. Can anyone tell from the pictures what year truck this was? One of the pictures of the transmission shows what I think is a date code of 1967. Also there is no air cooler for the turbo. I could use some of the parts. Any thoughtshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mack-Transmission-/220756273931?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=itebm3366196b0http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mack-R-600-Engine-300-HP-Low-Reserve-/220756269642?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item3366195a4a http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mack-Rear-End-/220756291445?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item336619af75
