  1. I took my '60 B Model with power assist steering to have the toe set and both tie rod ends were the same thread. They had to take them loose along with the power assist bracket on the tie rod. It took about 1.5 hours and cost $140. The original setting was way out and after adjustment it made a big difference.
  2. Super nice rigs.
  3. Very nice. They always look good when they are working.
  4. That's a real prize. Hope you work it out.
  5. Not sure about the speedo but you can get a SW temp gauge with compatable sending unit (if it's electric) from Summit Racing. I switched my B Model from pos to neg ground and had to change the temp & fuel gauge along with the sending units. The cost is pretty reasonable. Good Luck, Harry
  6. Definately a cutie. It won't take long for him to win you over. Certainly not a replacement for Diesel but a new friend going forward.
  7. RIP for Diesel, his pain and suffering is over. His memory will be comfort for you. Harry.
  8. Very sad to hear. My heart goes out to you.
  9. I belong to several antique car clubs and a lot of different cars are using the Petronix set up. I looked on their website also and it looks like they have a conversion for just about everything but Mack. I see they have a search where you can use your distributor number. Aren't the Mack distributors Delco? Maybe you can find it that way.. Be interesting to see if they have it. Good Luck.
  10. Looks brand new, right off the showroom floor.
  11. Way to go, glad you were able to put he deal together. It's in really nice shape for the age.
  12. I saw this footage of the wind blowing a semi over on a brdige in Idaho. It was on the news today. Thank goodness the driver was not badly hurt. Defintely scary. http://www.kmvt.com/news/latest/Semi-Crash-Caught-On-Tape-250708701.html
  13. Mike, I did not want to be too persistant for fear of owning another B Model. They are like mistresses you can only afford one. I did leave a message on the owner's voice mail Haven't heard back yet but if I do I'll pass the info on.
  14. Saw a nice B. That truck's been sitting there a long time. There's an old Carolina Freight trailer there too. I followed up on the B Model in Worthington, Pa. The owner is out of town but the girl in the office said she is sure it is not for sale. She put me to his voice mail. I left a message to advise if he does want to sell.
  15. Very nice ride. Colors really do it justice.
  16. It's cool and looks like in not too bad shape.
  17. I thought that looked familiar. He lives back that road about a mile or so on top of the hill behind the church. We go to a reunion every July so I will check it out if it's still there.
  18. My cousin lives just off 422 at Worthington. Is the B located at the shop on the south side at the light? Love the pictures each week. Required reading for Sat morning. Harry
  19. I have the B Model along with three cars with JC Taylor in NJ which insures through Foremost in Michigan (along with other companies). I just got my renewal policy back yesterday. Attached is one of the declaration pages which is interesting. It raises a lot questions which usually aren't asked until there is a problem.
  20. I couldn't find the B Model but did find a R700 http://zanesville.craigslist.org/cto/4309780641.html
  21. welcome. Pretty neat trucks maybe will see you at the CMIT show in Frederick May 3.
  22. Here's a picture of a 1961 B 61 with a 540 gas and a duplex direct that I bought from a towing and storage auction about 20 years ago. Apparently it was being driven from NY (not sure if city or upstate) to Florida. The truck had over heating and a serious vibration and was towed from I 95 just south of Springfield, Va. I saw the truck sitting in the storage lot everyday on the way to work for about 3 months and finally called. The day I called was the day of the auction and no one had showed up. The lot owner agreed to sell the truck for his towing bill and also agreed to deliver it, a deal I couldn't refuse. The lot owner told me he had been told the truck had been a concrete mixer. The mechanical problems turned out to be a bad water pump and a bad pinion bearing on the front drive axle. Another problem that could not be easly corrected was the gas mileage whiclh was about 3 or 4. Top speed was about 55, not sure what rears it had. I kept the truck for a couple of years and sold it at the Winchester, Va auction to Donovan's Used Cars in Harrisonburg. He later sold and maybe it is still out there somewhere.
  23. It looks like it should clean up nice. Lots of fun in store for you.
