  1. The 6.5 was one of the best sounding engines at a idle. Just make sure you put the Duramax fan on it and relocate the PMD. You can also get some real good radiators for them now. Cooling was the real killer of these.

  3. Yes, they ran out of stroke room for the clutch pedal. But maybe it may save a few clutch brakes.
  4. That setup should be a honey to drive. I ran those for 20 years now and the only issue I've ever had was the snap ring break on the Hi-Lo shaft. Simple to shift. Let her drop 400 rpms if you're not splitting and it'll fall into the next gear.
  5. Sounds like u better open the heat valve more.........way to cold out for a/c.
  6. I wouldn't blame Vlad for getting rid of her. Look at her..... barely a 9.
  7. By today's standards it is a good looking rig. And they give you options. But they are still poorly designed. The dash layout is horrible, the cab is louder and they ran out of room under the cab for a y pipe so the left hand exhaust stack is a dummy.
  8. Had the same setup in a truck we grossed 85,000 pounds with for years. Quite a stretch between gears but once you get her going it hauls. Don't switch tranny unless you plan on switching rears too.
  9. I heard the Scania V8 can pull a mountain. 😊
  10. That's also from having a piss poor parts manager. They should never be charging list price for parts. Brake drums list for $270 or more and Mack sells them here for 90
  11. I'm a fan of pup trailers. You can go anywhere with them and once you get used to it they are easy to back up. But to me it sounds like you made your decision. Remember, your health and safety are the main priority.
  12. It's a stroked 6.0 liter.
  13. Took a page from the LS engine.
  14. For 425's the best tires on my steer are kumhos. 115,000 miles and I run 19,000 lbs on them. As for drives, Michelin xdn are by far superior. Easy 100,000mile plus on a 91,000 lb straight truck.
  15. I agree 100 percent. Competition is a necessity. If they meet safety standards and are what they say they are, then sell away. Chinese tires are a great option free auxiliary axles and trailers. You don't wanna burn off 600 dollar Bridgestones.
  16. Mines got a 302 with a turbo 400. She likes to rev
  17. Not mine but an identical twin down to the wheels. Mines bundled up in the back corner of the shop
  18. Haha. Very good.
  19. I guess I love my '67 El Camino and people wonder why. Lol
  20. Can someone please tell me what was so special about those old broncos. I don't get it. Is it like the "ugly dog" thing?
  21. We had -37 here where I'm at in MN. I will say one thing, 20 below is nothing but -30 is a whole different story. Everything is a lot more brittle. It's like drag racing, the lower your et, the tougher it is to gain .01 of a second.
  22. Global Warming at it's best!
  23. Actually, we arrive in Jamaica on the 3rd. We'll be in negril for a week. Then, we'll see where our new yacht (scania powered off course) takes us. That Gulfstream isn't too shabby but it needs a servants quarters.
  24. Pickups are becoming more semi like and semis are becoming car like.
