    I know our later ones had thin metal brackets spotted to the roof panel that the headliner and console screwed to. If you added the headliner and console later, you riveted the brackets to the roof.

    If you have salt deposits from your water, your system isn't working. The salt is only for flushing the mineral bed clean. Then it goes down the drain. If your water is still hard try cycling the softener 3 or 4 times.
