There are several differences between European and American Mack Trucks: As mentioned, the 24 volts starter (everything else was still 12 volts when new although a lot of owners changed theit trucks completely to 24 volts themselves), wheelarches for the rear axles, very often different headlights to cope with the laws of the different countries (the center of the original headlights seems to be too high for european road permission and we have asymetric beam lights here), very often long wheelbase single drive tractors and trucks and a lot of Fs and FMs (seen quite often here compared to the rest of the world) equipped with the double bunk sleeper. A few examples: A spanish FM712ST which is for sale at the moment F786ST delivered to Austria and originally used to pull a lowbed trailer carrying the cable for a cablecar (GCW about 60 tons on 5 axles )- note the different head lights! R615T delivered to Germany; in use until last year and now in the hands of a collector Best wishes, Volker
