  1. Still looking for the throttle handle circled in the picture.
  2. Just did a compression test now that the rain just let up. It ranged 105-110 psi. dry (forgot to bring any oil. Fred
  3. Here is the pictures of the distributor, I took it out between rain drops. As you can see it is easy to put in the wrong one. The gears are in the lower pedestal which connects the tachometer and oil pump. The firing order is correct. When the rain stops I will do a compression test. The advance does advance clockwise opposite the counterclockwise rotation.
  4. When Im looked up my delco dist number in the motor book. my number 1110057 is listed as a clockwise rotation. The book from the Mack museum on my truck calls for a counter clockwise rotation. I pulled the cap off and cranked the motor and it spins counter clockwise.
  5. Upon researching my running problems I found out that thr distributor in my motor is one for a clockwise rotation not counter clockwise. Any one know the correct one for my 41 type 45 with a EN-330 motor Fred
  6. More info: I tried to adjust timing, but could not get it any better.
  7. Now that I have conquered the starting problems, I am having running issues. Before I found out I was not charging my engine would run smooth, but only at 15" of vacuum, under any throttle it would break up and vacuum would drop to 12" to 13". I fixed the charging problem and now it runs rough at idle, vacuum is now down to 12" to 13" and 10" when throttled, with it breaking up bad. The person I bought the truck from changed the crank before I bought it gue to it being cracked. I am thinking he might be a tooth or two off on the timing gears. Any one with ideas?
  8. Thanks to a;l that replied. The timing was to far advanced. Now it starts like a champ.
  9. Thankclk s to all that replied. The timing was set to far advanced. Set the distributor back and now, it starts like a champ
  10. I need thoughs on my motor. When I try to start it, it seems to hydro lock and stop turning right before if wants to fire off. It will crank fine up til this point. Then it seems to stop. If you try to hit the starter switch it turns a quater turn and seems to stop again. If I open the choke and throtle like to clear a flooded engine it will start to hang and then spin normal again. I have checked the starter and cables and they check out good. ??????? I have a 41 type 45 with an EN 330 motor Any one with ideas ????

  17. Saw the picture of this truck and was wondering if you have a pump handle, the one that sticks out at the running board. Do you happen to have any? fred
  18. It is the one down at the pump that says prime, neutral and pump. It snapped off 1" before the slider. This one looks like it is cast instead of steel. Looks as though the metal fractured, the metal looks porus instead of being clean. He rebuilt the motor from another oneand installed it. Sounded great, I just need to tune it up with new plugs, cap and rotor. Any help would be great. Fred
