  1. Ok, Very helpful. The MH linkage is a lot cleaner looking than my Cruiseliner. You have very good questions for me. Now I have to do my homework and start measuring. Im replacing the 1070 6 spd with a 20 series 18 spd. thanks for the info, i'll get back to you
  2. That is a beautiful truck. Ive had to sell a lot of my collection lately. Be thankful its going to a good home. Keep the faith. OLD TRUCKS COLLECT THE NICEST PEOPLE
  3. Now that's cool
  4. Is there really nobody out there who knows the answer or did I not explain correctly? I want to put a Mack 18 speed in my Cruiseliner but I need to know if my shift linkage will off my 6 speed will work on the 18 speed. Are the shift forks the same?
  5. Would anybody know if the shift linkage, top plate, off a TRXL 1070 fit a 20 series Mack 18 speed? If not where would I locate a shift linkage top loader for the 18 spd to fit in my COE?
  6. I like those C models. Even if they do have a hood. Well sorta have a hood LOL
  7. The Barrington truck show in Barrington, N.H. is this sunday. The largest chapter antique truck . Worth the visit
  8. Are you talking about starting off in "deep" then shifting to low without stopping? On the 15 speeds I have had most any gear would work depending on the terrain. But I preffered 4th deep coming out to 3 low seemed to work for me. Maybe I am misunderstanding the question
  9. So are you saying the driveshaft should be one tooth off in the slip joint? Thanks for the response gentlemen
  10. Ride height has been a sore subject. I have called several folks including the people who took over Neway and received several different answers. Experimiting has been the best help.
  11. What? Where are the N.H. cabovers? Barney has let few people drive his 81 R model 300 6 spd. The only Mack around that is slower going to Pa than mine. Truck is in very nice shape.
  12. Truck has Mack 6 spd with a .62 overdrive. CRD 92 rears 5.73 ratio. truck has Neway susp I have been chasing this vibration for some time. I know what I should do is change tranny and rears to slow down drive shaft rpm. I have been told that I will never get rid of all the vibration due to the incredible shaft rpm. What im asking is this true? I have replaced all U joints, Slip joints. There is a little movement in output yoke in front drive. Any ideas short of better ratio and tranny?
  13. LOL. I was going to say How rare? We have 2 B61 integrals in the yard.
  14. If your doing a Superliner im afraid im no help to you. I could dig the part number for the condenser that I used but I don't know if you have the same set up.
  15. Mine is a WS like in the pic at beginning of this thread.
  16. UNBELIVEABLE!!!!! Nice job. And you didn't get cocky with the officer like he started to do with you. Good for you
  17. I can send you a phone pic if you like. I used a condenser for a Mack RD. I had to drill and tap the radiator frame and add a 3 in piece to the left side to mount it. The good thing is its in front of the fan so the air is pulled thru it.
  18. If you have the AATAC you fit a condenser between the grill and radiator. Ok, here we go. Get your pen and paper. I fixed the stock A.C. but had to cut hole in dash cover in order to get enough air into cab. If the rear A.C. was hooked up it would freeze you out. As it stands its ok. Remember when I asked you for dash pieces? So I know you have the correct parts. Why is your bunk unit in the left side? Ive had 3 Cruiseliners and all bunk unit were in right side. The evaporator is avialiable here thru a local guy. I replaced just about everything in there. The reason I could not hook rear unit was the only condenser that would fit isn't big enough to handle 2 units. There is very little room under the AATAC and bottom of grill. Also I use R12 Freon because it cools better in the old systems. Hey were 80's all the right down to my 1987 Alpine stereo casset ! LOL. Also keep inmind when doing a condenser when you have air ride cab the grill moves but not the radiator
  19. That "standup" F model is a 300 5 speed low mile truck. When the previous owner called me we had quite a chat. That was 6 years ago. Nice truck
  20. 4 pounds sounds excessive. I think with a bunk unit they only hold @ 3 1/2 pounds at best.
  21. I absolutely agree. I will start with testing the injectors.
  22. Hmm.
  23. LOL. Try getting parts for older "first generation" John Deere's. You see, JD had the foresight to "reuse" older model numbers. Try explaining that to a 25 year old parts guy. Yes JD did make a 5020 back in the 60's. A GOOD PARTS PERSON IS WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Thank you Gentlemen. I did not know that a weak injector could cause that. I was thinking governor or something else in the pump.
  25. Hmm. Intresting. Lately I have noticed It sounds odd until it warms up. Guess ill price some injectors & hope that cures it. If not looking at the pump. Thank you.
