  1. If you have the AATAC you fit a condenser between the grill and radiator. Ok, here we go. Get your pen and paper. I fixed the stock A.C. but had to cut hole in dash cover in order to get enough air into cab. If the rear A.C. was hooked up it would freeze you out. As it stands its ok. Remember when I asked you for dash pieces? So I know you have the correct parts. Why is your bunk unit in the left side? Ive had 3 Cruiseliners and all bunk unit were in right side. The evaporator is avialiable here thru a local guy. I replaced just about everything in there. The reason I could not hook rear unit was the only condenser that would fit isn't big enough to handle 2 units. There is very little room under the AATAC and bottom of grill. Also I use R12 Freon because it cools better in the old systems. Hey were 80's all the right down to my 1987 Alpine stereo casset ! LOL. Also keep inmind when doing a condenser when you have air ride cab the grill moves but not the radiator
  2. That "standup" F model is a 300 5 speed low mile truck. When the previous owner called me we had quite a chat. That was 6 years ago. Nice truck
  3. 4 pounds sounds excessive. I think with a bunk unit they only hold @ 3 1/2 pounds at best.
  4. I absolutely agree. I will start with testing the injectors.
  5. Hmm.
  6. LOL. Try getting parts for older "first generation" John Deere's. You see, JD had the foresight to "reuse" older model numbers. Try explaining that to a 25 year old parts guy. Yes JD did make a 5020 back in the 60's. A GOOD PARTS PERSON IS WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Thank you Gentlemen. I did not know that a weak injector could cause that. I was thinking governor or something else in the pump.
  8. Hmm. Intresting. Lately I have noticed It sounds odd until it warms up. Guess ill price some injectors & hope that cures it. If not looking at the pump. Thank you.
  9. Now that I have my A.C. working its nice to take a nap in the cold air sometimes. Problem is, the engine RPM changes around 250 RPM no matter what throttle I set it at. I like to set throttle at @ 850 or 900 Kind of annoying. Its an 83 E9 with the AMBOSCH V pump. Any ideas on how to stop this?
  10. That's what I did with my 6 spd. Stood it on its bellhousing. Also, Some of the forks have to be held in place with wire, coathanger while linging the fork shafts up to put back together. Good luck, hope it goes well for you
  11. That's interesting. A 2 wide 4 deep sleeper
  12. Would it make a difference it has a unit in the bunk? that might add more oil

    Thanks
  14. You do come up with some interesting trucks. Nice
  15. I think youre adjustment is the bolt in the front of 5th wheel.
  16. If your tank was low when you put fuel in it may have "drawn" the fuel away from the pick up tube. Once the pickup tube sucked air Detroits can be real mean to bleed. Not saying that was your case but worth looking into

    Whats his web site?
  18. Amen to that. Just remember OLD TRUCKS COLLECT THE NICEST PEOPLE
  19. Maybe you have done this already but in case you haven't. A lot of Detroit powered trucks had a tire valve stem drilled into the fuel cap. That way you could pressureize the tank to push fuel up to the engine. Becareful not to put to much pressure. We have a 84 8V92 silver that is mean to get going if you run her out of fuel. Just a thought. Hope it helps
  20. Walters are cool! I hauled one out of NY a few years ago that had a blower on it. The engine for the blower took up the entire back of the truck. It was powered by a V8 Leroi 2002 cubic inch!!! The man who sold it told me that he use to run it for the county. The exhaust was 4 in long. It sounded great. I had a 56 Walters. The only true 4 wd. Good score. If you think you may want to part with her let us know
  21. I think you could still but a General in Canada up to 89. In fact some had series 60 Detroits in them
  22. How come when I asked for a clutch fan last fall I didn't get this info from you folks? Superior turbo just sent me a viscous fan. its brand new. part # SRF197703K $625 is what I paid for it. I should proof read before I post.
  23. Slop loads are hard on trucks. Most barnyards aren't very friendly either. Sorry to hear your losing intrest but I do understand.
  24. Ok. I had a great idea. It was Get off my butt and go look at the Cylinders. Cruiseliner cylinders are 5 in to long. I have several lift cylinders around I will check the others in the day light and let you know what I have
  25. I was able to get a new lift cylinder from our local Mack dealer. I have had several rebuilt by local hydraulic shop also.. Now you have me wondering. Is there a difference between a Cruiseliner and a MH cylinder?
