Good Evening, I know we spoke before. Now that I’m actually getting ready to pull the transmission. I’ve noticed that the back spilter box is cast and the front main box is aluminum. Let me now if that helps you. It was hard to see with the almost 60 years of grease on it. Thank you

Morning, Those pieces are the water manifolds, the front one has the thermostat in it. If you pull the back one you can take out the pipe and see what the problem is. Most likely just the O rings cause those are the cast iron manifolds. If the brass is gone you have to get one from a junkyard. Or make up your own pipe with a combination of rubber hose and the brass pipe.
