  1. Believe it or not my friends name is jim. He said he looked at the map and seen that hwy. 250 was leading to the town he was going to so he decided to take it. If you could have heard him going on about it. He said the worst part was it started raining hard and that fog was heavy so he was having a rough night all together. I'm trying to get ahold of him to see excatly where he was going to and I'll let you know. Just talked to him he was in beverly at a armstrong wood plant.
  2. Has any concrete coming off of the belt buckle?

    Friday

Sound like your making some nice progress. I dread having the brakes done on my '52 f-6 they have to be sent off to be redone or take them to a shop. How much does it cost to have shoes redone?
  4. Funny you should say that because they was laying side by side the other night and was pretty much slapping each other. Paxton figured out the tv has alot of colors and makes noise so his attention has been that this week. Parker still want's our attention constantly.
  5. The cabover is a buddy of mine's, he only gave 5500.00 for the truck. It's got a 350 cummins and a 9 speed I believe. The '52 is in pretty decent shape, needs a cab corner, few little things here and there, but in overall decent condition. Flathead 6 cylinder 4 speed with a 2 speed rear, actually steers better than my toyota & nissan considering all 3 don't have power steering. I've been working on my big computer at home trying to make it faster so hopefully tonight it'll be back on the internet and I'll post some picture of the ford. I would like to hang onto the ford, because it's a neat old truck, but I would like to have a bigger truck to. Who knows I might keep it for a while longer, I only have about 400 dollars invested in the whole truck.
  6. Yes,that is correct-when I first went to work for H.H.Moore his grandsons Jeff and Todd were still in high school. When they were old enough they started driving, local at first, then long distance,so they know the deal. They realize that when they go home at 5 O'clock the drivers still have a days work to get done to deliver the next morning, something a lot of dispatchers seem to think happens by magic. A buddy of mine was a driver for awhile then went to dispatching, and said some of the people in that office talks about drivers like they are dogs.. really pisses me off. I just talked to another buddy of mine and he's in west virginia, said he got off of interstate 81 @ exit 221 then went across hwy 250 into west virginia. He said it was pretty steep hills to get across, have you been through there? I was just wondering if it was as bad as he was letting on. Glad to know your boss realizes how it is not many does. See ya Buddy.
  7. Sounds like you've had a decently busy week. I hate them stupid dispatchers that think you can pull of a miracle to get their on time, they think because their not tired you shouldn't be either. One company dad worked for down here in town had a dispatcher like that and that's why dad and a few others left. Come to find out the dispatcher bought it from the owner, so I believe you know the rest of the story. Congratulations on being smoke free, and good luck.
  8. I could set for hours on end and listen or read stories like this. My uncle retired from trucking a few years back, and he started in the early 60's. Man he can tell some great stories to. Be cool Bollweevil. P.S.- How's the mack coming along?
  9. That's what friends are for. To help each other out.
  10. It's not much to go on, but it's a start. I yahoo searched "how to clean pewter" and come up with that. They was other things to look at, but of course this work computer plays stubborn. Good luck Buddy.
  11. C'mon man you can do it. Just try to keep your mind on other things, just block out smoking all together. One thing I learned from seeing my dad try to quit is, put one in your mouth when your so grouchy you hurt the people you love the most. My dad was a die-hard smoker, he could have quit if he tried hard enough, but he knew when he tried he would get aggrevated to easy. It's like me I'm down to one pop a day with caffeine. Didn't realize it though until a while back, all I drink is mug root beer and stuff like that and they don't containe caffeine. Just keep tryin' and we won't be mad at you if you wen't and got a pack right know, but atleast you are trying. That's the best way to start. Good Luck JOE
  12. Nice looking belt buckle, and sorry no smoke..lol. I believe pewter is lead, but I wouldn't hold me to it. Trying to think of what else could bring it off, but my mind is blank at the moment. Try this: http://www.ehow.com/how_172281_clean-pewter.html
  13. I was starting to wonder when we was gonna get some snow, then bam here it is. It snowed probably 2 or 3 inches here and layed pretty nice. Only problem was my water froze up, and the reason being we had to work on the well this summer and forgot to wrap everything up. Other than that it was fine. Parker and Paxton got to see their first snow, which I guess is just another thing to them, but alot to me and Amber. Finally gonna get to retire my Toyota pickup for awhile, got a '91 nissan pickup to go in it's place. Finding room for all this stuff is my biggest problem right know, my '52 f-600 is gonna be for sale real soon so that'll be out of the way "Hopefully the money from it can be the starting of a Mack truck fund". We have a '00 Kia sportage awaiting a motor, my current daily driver '89 toyota pickup, '91 nissan pickup, and my dad's '69 chevrolet C-10 is gonna be here real soon. People have a hard time understanding that the '69 is near dear to my heart, because it's about the only thing I have left to remember my dad. Woke up this morning to see we had no electricity, first thing I said was "Did we forget to pay the bill?" Amber said it had already been paid and wasn't due for awhile, so ok we get the boys ready to go and I walk in the laundry room to find the main breaker had tripped. I had the box open to turn the hot water heater off, because of no water and the cats had jumped up playing around it and accidentally tripped the breaker. Know it's back to work until tuesday, missing my sons like crazy, but looking forward to seeing them after work. Paxton thinks he's a big boy all of the sudden. He was laying in the bed wednesday night and we was setting beside of him watching t.v. and talking to him, then all of the sudden he get's fussy not knowing what is wrong we try to feed him, change him, & burp him, but it's not helping. End's up he want's to sit up like we do and look around at everybody & everything. It was cute, and parker just want's our full attention at the moment. We'll that's enough rambling for know....
  14. That's one of the reasons I quit looking at the '66 I found it had a 864 v-8. Might have run alright, but my pockets don't run deep enough for a rebuild on that motor " if you can find the parts", or a repower. Nice looking truck though, appears to be pretty solid.
  15. Hey I finally got to watch them. Very nice and keep up the good work. Do you have any more to post?
  16. Smoking's a hard habit to quit. I've smoked once never liked it, but I come from a family of smokers so I know how it is. Good Luck on trying to quit, JOE
  17. Just hanging out this week. They have had the sniffles all week, and got to see their first snow. Parker is up to 6 ounces a feeding, so he's caught back up with paxton.
  18. From the album: Cabover

'86 International, 350 cummins, 9 speed, air ride rears, factory cruise and factory window in the sleeper. Tractor only has 360,000 original miles. was part of a PGA tour, it still had the decals on the side. Pretty much loaded up with every option in its time.
  19. My buddy's '86 International Cabover
  20. I got 2 check out the first ones, but not the new ones yet. I brought my laptop to work with me tonight so I will get to watch all of them. The boys are fine know, but I'm coming down with a cold so.... See Ya Later JOE P.S. I thought the first one was awesome.
  21. Wonder what the pyrometer was reading....lol. Seems like that would do some damage, wouldn't it?
  22. Glad to have you back Pedro. Don't worry we've all done it before, I have a hard time remembering my passwords on the internet. Good Luck JOE
