  1. Wow-another all Mack fleet going to the dark side?
  2. Speaking of Cascadia, same thought-grill is FUGLY IMO. I know cooling has a new priority but the grill is in excess. Ahh-remember the days when a grill consisted of a set of shutters! Now THAT was functional!
  3. 1963 Seaburg Juke Box!
  4. Should have added-popped the hood on a pals new 250 PStroke. Can't imagine how you do ANY work on that thing
  5. What a clever idea- a simple truck that works!!! AND- a clutch pedal!
  6. Hmnnn-just think of the nice ice/snow dam this will create? Maybe???
  7. Bigger question in my mind, would the 33,000 lb class 7 max be similarly exempted by that weight penalty to preserve the 12 % FET exemption??? You would think so as the entire purpose of the legislation is to increase nat gas as a fuel source. IMO, legislation should do both- exempt the buyer from the FET, as well as give him the payload advantage.
  8. 10-4-as always I'll have to ask my kids
  9. Bigdog- I have "Maps", MapQuest, and WAZE on my IPhone (4) do any nof those apps give you the speed check feature???
  10. Matt, More Plunske pix please-take me back to my youth-trips up Rt 5 to see the Fords all lined up!
  11. So what is so "new" about an "offset cab" To those of you from Central Mass, from the "Gargolinski Collection". This was an??LJWS???
  12. For sure on the Binders-and also the GMC J??? later called Brigadier. What was OAL limit-back then? 55'??
  13. Nice dozers-friend of mine has a 550-makes a hack like me look good
  14. U came about for one reason-give Mack a 90" BBC to compete with 9000 Whites, 358/359 Brockways and later big time fleet competition in 1970 from the LN Louisville. Moving cab to side was good alternative to raising cab up in the air.
  15. And in addition to old B-81, I'm told owner/ driver is 84 yrs young!
  16. Well the smartest thing they did was the Ford buy out-or should I say "steal" at 300 million! At the time,Jim Hebe, then the big dog at Fliner claimed Ford as the vocational leader. That move took a typically 20%+ volume player out of the market. And they haven't looked back. come to think of it, the SD 114 even LOOKS like an old school Louisville-not the HN-80 replacement that went on as "Sterling". And Matt-all the big new Mass DOT trucks are SD 114's. Locals? I would guess its a battle between Fliner and Navistar. Unless you are talking small "clean up" trucks-in that case I would say F-550 rules.
  17. Thx- I'm sure I should bite the bullet and do same-while the remaining good 24's are still around.
  18. So much for accurate reporting......In its vocational business, Freightliner does not sell directly to end users but rather to TEMs, or truck equipment manufacturers, that include a truck cab, engine and chassis as part of a larger machine.
  19. 980K, PANDOLPH-PERKINS, Sterling loading my 6-8 yd Galion. This guy is good-like clockwork every load is like 9.4 ton-and he has no scale!
  20. Thx Brian- it is an "X" with a 29.
  21. EJ- that has never been a problem. I thought I had a spacer width problem then Danny Melone spotted that 7.5 rim on the outside. And the rears are all relatively new caps and you can see the height difference. I also can't get the wobble out of that wheel but I will worry about that once I replace the rim.
  22. thx Jim-good info on the Euc site. Also did not know that the gap WAS acceptable.
  23. The build sheet for my B , (11R x 24) lists the wheel rims as 14QJ314P3. In checking by position, I have 8.25's on the front and 8.25/8.0 on left rear and 8.0/7.5 on right. For sure the 7.5 has to go but any thoughts on having 8.25/8.0 as a combo. I assume worst case is I will not have same tire heights. Also, are wedges unique to a specific rim width? Thx
  24. Nice pix! B on the left has a gold dog- for real 237? The one on right has unique hood scoop?? Where did you get that nice air cleaner stack-would like to upgrade mine
