  1. Well Harry to add, I dug out what PC 7 I had on the shelf-not sure about shelf life but it while not hard was pretty stiff-both components. So Im thinking, "yah- I see Harry's point-have to get this workable". But to Val's point maybe I'll just see if I can mix it up. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  2. Thx Harry, I'll check it out.
  3. I'm sure this has been posted many times but any suggestions on a good filler to use on cracks in wheel????
  4. Nice-what year and what is power train? Rubber?
  5. IMO if 33,000 gvw is max, not too attractive if you are talking about typical municipal dump/plow chassis-so that says 10 /23 or 12/20 axles . Even Ford in a 750, offers a 14 front and a 23 rear with a spring package that I think takes the rear to 26. And there are plenty of people that feel even a 14,000 front is not enough to handle the typical angling plows that are used today.
  6. Ah-but I'm older than you I'll bet😎 And if we are talking about RTO's for sure they were reversed. In the back of my mind though I'm thinking when they went to the "X" designation for OD I'm not sure if that still applied. ???
  7. No clue but you are correct on what the "X' meant in terms of the reversed position of 4-5.
  8. Not that it matters but just wondering. The Ford/International thing was announced as a JV with the creation of a new entity, "Bluediamond". I think all of the door jam plates referred to Bluediamond- At least that is how I remember. I don't think this new GM/Navistar deal created a "new entity"- or did it? How about it KSC?
  9. Well that explains that decision-probably still a couple of Bow ties hanging on walls😎. And for sure on the "IH" badges-built in the Navistar plant! Is there any commonality with say a 3500 GM? I remember in the Bluediamond days. I recorded the spring hangar numbers on a 4400 that was at the International dealer and went down the street to Ford dealer-exact same numbers on a 750!
  10. Now that is one big Ansul extinguisher!😎 Must have been a lot of flammables going through that town.
  11. Hah-was shocked to see the steering wheel where it was! But a beauty in any case.
  12. What GVW and curious as to reason a CV vs a Dodge or Ford? I was talking to a guy the other day with a new Chevy-not sure what rating but it had a very big utility body on it-open bed but tool compartments both sides- guy is a mechanical/piping contractor. I asked why this vs Ford or Dodge.."tilt hood?". Answer.."it was the cheapest by a long shot". I'm sure that will end once they sell enough of them. Plenty of dealers have inventory but I have not seen many on road-either badge.
  13. Well when I saw that my only concern is what area of truck is most susceptible to accident damage? I would say front end and in particular right front. I did see Roadway's positive view that the body guys are less likely to mess with it vs the typical rear of cab chasiss location but I think it makes most sense in close proximity to fuel fill. I'm sure soneone will say- "yeah but then someone is going to put diesel in it" but given the color of the cap, that should not be a real issue unless someone has a booze or drug issue🤪
  14. I think you are correct in that the only significant change is air brakes will now be available on gas 650/750. Two dealers in my area each have a 7.3 powered 650-one still a chassis and the other set up with a 5-7 yd dump. I thought I had posted pix of the "underhood" but maybe that was on another site
  15. And the "grader" is constructed of????
  16. These are pix I took at a show. Still looks "crowded" but a V-8 is a V-8. and for sure better than a PS in an F-550. Ford and Dodge have to get with it and come up with a tilt hood. Even the Cummins in a Dodge looks crowded.
  17. Well good news! They announced today a new add campaign called "Built for America". I had that immediate thought about showing Ford fire trucks and PI's in some adds. Hopefully will see some 650/750's too-if not FD, municipal trucks.....maybe cleaning up riot debris is Seattle?😎
  18. we can only wish-another "American" truck!
  19. Wow...So someone must have fallen on their sword😎
  20. Demo or your co bought some? Is it not the same cab as the HD Silverado? And visibility is good? hood looks......"bulbous"?? Or is seating position higher than 3500?
  21. Its a Super Duty so its an N-850 or 950-and in 63 the big SD V-8's had not be ruined by emissions yet.
  22. So where are they- introduced a year ago and I have yet to see any on dealer lots. Are they NOT in production?
