  1. Kevin..Pay attention to the obits😎But I'm sure when that day comes the boys will have other ideas.
  2. Well Rich it was on the back burner. Glad the wife and the boys kept nagging me. Once I saw it in daylight my attitude changed. I'm thinking-"where the hell did 22 years go??" Pay attention guys.
  3. Well after 22 years dragged the 68 out of its corner of the barn. My son had been bugging me to get it going again and volunteered to do it in his barn-with my unskilled help of course. Stock 289, 3 on tree. Only thing I did to it was add two shocks to front axle and 2A" lift when I bought it in 95, for 4500 bucks!
  4. uh Maxi-you forget, that the smartest marketing guy when it comes to cars-Mr Farley - is now top dog, reporting to the guy that saved that icon of heavy manufacturing Steelcase.
  5. Just saw this on BON site-... Ford-owned equipment to make the parts was not “materially damaged” by the tornado, but neither Ford nor BorgWarner could say when production would be resumed. Ford closed all of its U.S. factories about a month ago due to the coronavirus outbreak.
  6. As I watched the video my first thought was..."so much for Kanban". Wonderful theory and a true cost savings- until your distribution system fails to get the goods to you or your source is out of business. I would imagine the key will be how much of the machinery IN the plant is junk?
  7. Eye opening to say the least. I'm hear in MA and never heard of this guy. Time to do some searching
  8. Again, miracle that there were no injuries. Assuming steam was involved you would think there were some sort of safeties/relief systems that tipped people off? ??
  9. For sure! As a Ford truck sales guy today what a "Super Duty" was and he will have no clue. Gas job for sure 401, 477 or 534 cubic inches. Came out in model year 1958.
  10. Is this what you are saying won't end well???......This new business aligns functional areas to deliver holistic customer solutions and optimizes operations to improve alignment with potential partners . Perhaps you are right. Unfortunately in the age of "Hackett speak" you just can't escape buzzwords. I'm hopeful it refers to alignments with perhaps those who provide further integration with maybe load sharing, dispatch centralization , stuff like that. One thing that will show promise is the fact that two regional guys for commercial truck, one North America, one Europe will be reporting to the same guy. Maybe we will see some further reliance on Ford Otosan who for quite a while now has been referred to as "Fords heavy truck design center" or some similar description. So far seems like we have never seen evidence of that in the US..Maybe that will change for the better. One frequent poster here who is a Ford annuitant has frequently said an assignment to commercial trucks is the kiss of death as far a career path is concerned. The fact that commercial vehicles is featured in this announcement says that perhaps that is not the case for sure.
  11. Hah-who needs a trailer-I figured 4 x 20 so much for my eyes What is your legal GVW
  12. Let me guess..20yd water level?
  13. All valid points-but I would make the cut line the Bear Mtn. Bridge😎
  14. Perhaps VW had a hand in the Texas Plant decision?
  15. KSC, So what was the driver behind their plan for a new plant. Their sales are way down from what they were. All their other facilities were at max utilization? I can't believe the GM JV for class 4-6 is that significant. And they had to have plenty of capacity at Escobedo with Blue diamond gone. ??? Or will the "new" Nafta force some volume from Mexico back to US?
  16. Thx-always thought they were "Harbor Freight" gimmics. I've got one strap-for lifting.
  17. Well I guess I'm the dummy then- learn something new every day. If I saw my kids doing it when they were like 14 I would have been barking at them.😎
  18. Which was absolute political bullshit. He took liberty with the fact that basically all immigrants in the first part of the 20th century were classified as "without papers".
  19. Hah- look at the beginning. the guy would have about 6' of slack in the tow rope and then he would accelerate. Unreal. Must be it was not his truck or his strap😆 But they get an "A" for effort.
  20. Well I wonder what brand of straps they were using. I guess that is one way to get a load moving. Also good testimony to the durability of the hitch on that Dodge pickup🤦‍♂️
  21. Well Swishy maybe two then is all it took as I was guessing- one for bowl height and the second controlled the apron and the ejector plate. Pull on cable and apron raises to start loading. At a certain point once apron reaches a given height the ejector starts moving forward. At max ht of apron the ejector plate would be all the way up/forward.
  22. Careful TS-you could be called as a witness!
  23. Anyone have a clue how those cable dozers were set up to control a cable scraper? I would think they had to have three separate drums- one to control height/cut depth of the bowl, one to raise/lower the apron, and one to control the ejector plate. Or was the apron/ejector on same drum? That is, raise apron minimal height to load, keep raising and at a certain point the ejector starts moving forward to dump?????
  24. good move IMO
