Looking good...Some additional motivation for you. The late Dave Mauro's last truck he did. Have no fear, son Patrick is taking good care of it
-
Well nice to see that kind of commitment.
-
For sure OD and it will stay that way. Never was crazy about the color but its original.
-
Hah-if only they still had the drawings for the original Louisville😎
-
Quite an accomplishment when you look at the damage

Hey Matt, and on a very good note you WILL make the next Brooklyn show😄 -
BH, Agree 100% on lifting cab-although I've heard some pretty low times that guys say they can do it in. Oh and by "JV" I was referring to GM/International "Joint Venture". When I get a chance I' m going to take some shots of a Power Stroke in a 650/750. My bet is that will be another selling feature for the 7.3. At least you can SEE one side of the motor😎
-
Here is the GM/Inter. JV Any better? Stick a V-8under the hood of anything and it sucks IMO. Only thing that isbetter on this vs 650 is 19.5 wheels vs 22.5. Roadway? what vehicles today DON'T have major relays/fuse boxes under hood vs stuffed under dash/on firewall inside? I remember the intro videos of this JV one of the talking points was,..."crank the steering and you step inside the tire" . And then what? Just like the Ford, you get your sockets out and start removing plastic panels/stuff to get at your engine.
-
Local dealer has a 7.3 650 on the lot and I popped the hood. When they start offering air brakes in 7.3 powered 650/750's, it will be next to Alternator. Oil filler could use an extension IMO but everything else in terms of fluids looks decent. Engine/trans dipsticks on curb side.

Good job---no Hackettspeak!

That had to be a pricy conversion. looks like a nice job

Very good Paul. And along this line, the WSJ on Saturday covered an interview they conducted with Dr. John Ioannidis. He basically shoots holes in so many of the statistics that forecast gloom and doom and I think puts things in the right perspective. He is a professor at Stanford School of Medicine and in addition to being a medical guy, he understands statistics. One thing I never forgot from school...a tongue in cheek definition for "Statistics 101"...."How to Lie With Numbers". This guy IMO understands the medical issues, but also what constitutes valid statistical assumptions. Google him. One thing that pops up is an interview Mark Levin had with him.

Bet the mice are pissed off-just went through that drill with my Bronco😎 good luck -
Well IMO how his ego gets in the way. He claims he said it with sarcasm. Unless you have OD'd on Trump Kool Aid big time, only a fool will buy that when you look at all the coverage. I think it was a crazy thought, but in any case, I think most people-at least many of us on this site-recognize he is always an outside of the box thinker-which is a plus IMO. This would NOT have been an issue had he simply said the next day....."yes, I said it, and I was raising a thought for the experts to address, what do I know? I raised it as a question". Such a response would have ended the discussion. Instead, in typical Trump fashion he has to bullshit his way out of it -when will he realize everything he says is subject to special attention to add to his list of "Lies". And speaking of lies, I think every time he uses a statistic in error, the loons add that to the "Lie" list. Case in point that I clearly remember- a couple of weeks ago he talked about Boeing making their specially modified 747 to move PPE supplies. He said.."biggest plane in the world -carries 63,000 lbs". Duh I think a 40 year old Herc does 42,000, C-17, 170,000 and a C-5 over 200,000! Now if Barry O said that, would not have mattered-but Trump-add it to the "lie" list. And then I have to listen to my wife of 50 years rant and rave about what an idiot he is. " And you are STILL going to vote for that liar?""

Beauty-Never saw a single axle Big R " r model" Seems like back then C model Fords were the city tractor of choice for them.
-
Kevin..Pay attention to the obits😎But I'm sure when that day comes the boys will have other ideas.
-
Well Rich it was on the back burner. Glad the wife and the boys kept nagging me. Once I saw it in daylight my attitude changed. I'm thinking-"where the hell did 22 years go??" Pay attention guys.
-
Well after 22 years dragged the 68 out of its corner of the barn. My son had been bugging me to get it going again and volunteered to do it in his barn-with my unskilled help of course. Stock 289, 3 on tree. Only thing I did to it was add two shocks to front axle and 2A" lift when I bought it in 95, for 4500 bucks!

uh Maxi-you forget, that the smartest marketing guy when it comes to cars-Mr Farley - is now top dog, reporting to the guy that saved that icon of heavy manufacturing Steelcase.
-
Just saw this on BON site-... Ford-owned equipment to make the parts was not “materially damaged” by the tornado, but neither Ford nor BorgWarner could say when production would be resumed. Ford closed all of its U.S. factories about a month ago due to the coronavirus outbreak.
-
As I watched the video my first thought was..."so much for Kanban". Wonderful theory and a true cost savings- until your distribution system fails to get the goods to you or your source is out of business. I would imagine the key will be how much of the machinery IN the plant is junk?
-
Eye opening to say the least. I'm hear in MA and never heard of this guy. Time to do some searching
-
Again, miracle that there were no injuries. Assuming steam was involved you would think there were some sort of safeties/relief systems that tipped people off? ??
-
For sure! As a Ford truck sales guy today what a "Super Duty" was and he will have no clue. Gas job for sure 401, 477 or 534 cubic inches. Came out in model year 1958.
