President Trump assassination attempt at PA rally tonight.
Red Horse replied to tjc transport's topic in Odds and Ends
I too doubt this is part of some conspiracy. I look at the shooter as some poor soul who has been bullied his entire life-which seems to be the pattern with a lot of these fucked up shooters. I understand BOTH of his parents were social workers. Nothing against social workers but what are the odds that this kid heard nothing at the dinner table but .."did you hear what asshole Trump said today?" In any case, when I saw the aerial photos of the property layout I thought the building in question should have had security people on it! A commanding view of the scene. Also I cant believe there wasn't a radio channel that was monitored for an immediate call for max security. As for the head of SS, I heard she came from Pepsico as head of global security. But then I did a search...prior to that ? she was with SS for 25 years!! No doubt buck stops with her but I have to believe that there had to be a detailed risk assessment of that facility that would have high lighted the obvious risks that the building in question posed. Then again looking at the some of the SS gals on scene, no doubt DEI was a factor when they were hired. And the head of SS was quoted as endorsing the DEI movement. And who does the SS boss report to? Mayorkas! Time for a complete review. Think of the money we spend with TSA monitoring incoming arrivals on international arrivals? Think the bad guys are going to fly in to a US airport? They are flying in for sure-but to Mexico and then they take a cab to the Rio Grande! -
And the good news he is only 72...but back to reality, who will Trump pick? Burgham IMO should be a slam dunk..only drawback?..can Trump accept a capable guy in that position who will stand up to him and tell him when he is wrong
-
Amy Klobuchar..She is 64 yrs old and Trump's hope for female vote and big percentage of independents will go her way. He was lucky during debate as the two CNN moderators threw him alot of softballs and more importantly when they threw him a question that required a hard answer, he would use his time bringing up the same old issues sleepy Joe fucked up. I think there was only one time where the broad did a follow up with.."to get back to the question"..at that he still skated. I think our only hope is Trump picks Burgham..a governor, succesfull business guy, someone who truly knows oil as well as big agriculture. Plus someone who will stand up to Trump when he goes off the rails-which you know he will.

Kevin The fact that they won't engineer air brakes for 7.8 Godzilla powered 750's to keep them in class 7 on west coast says to me they are happy ruling the van market with Transits.

Well to add to this bullshit, after declaring Mass is a sanctuary state, she then flys down to the border to plead with officials not to send any more gate crashers as we have no more room- to the tune we are spending 75 million-yes million -for their living "expenses"..a good deal for hotel owners that leased out to the state. She continues to say.."the federal govt. must do more" Plus we had a prison that had been closed -Norfolk-that she decides to reopen to house these people. The people in that town are enraged but have no say.

Good taste..Mack and Ford! -
Supposedly my state tax is paying 75 Million a month. Our dumb ass governor who made MA a sanctuary state, then complains "Washington isn't doing enough"
-
ahh-but think of the reduced emissions🤪

It is called getting your priorities straight-good move😎

thx Kevin....wonder if 50 yrs later, improvements in materials as well as turbine design could make them viable? I understand they were "thirsty"?
-
Guess sales projections did not meet expected demand for inhouse production?

Looks great Matt Unfortunately I got a new reverse shoulder yesterday. Shots no longer did anything so at my old age I rolled the dice as the older I get the tougher the recovery will be. MATT, Looks great...front end wander any with that load? No shows for me for next few months as yesterday I got a new reverse shoulder..left side. Shots no longer gave me any relief so thought I should b ite the bullet now before recovery would be tougher. Sorry to read about senseless loss of CSP Trooper the other day. -

UAW 'extremely disappointed' with Volvo's Mexico plant decision
Red Horse replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
Kevin I thought the Ford plant at Hermosillio (sp?) had a rep for very good build quality?? But in any case I've always wondered about the wisdom of investing huge sums in Mexico given instability in parts of the country..what keeps it from spreading? Think the cartels are going to concentrate on the poor areas-or go where the money is??? -
Cummins introduces "B6.7 Octane" Gasoline Engines

Isn't "Mopar"-you forgot that handle😎 - about offer a turbo inline 6? No clue on size-by the way-Ford should bring back their 300 six with a turbo. -
KSC, I have to laugh-this Liebherr has been stationed close to the wreck so all the jackass reporters keep referring to this a s the "largest crane".. Meantime the "largest crane"- Chesapeake 1000 is anchored across the channel waiting.
-
This guy, Sal Cogliano is the best...don't waste your time listening to the typical news "reporters"
-
Well the bullshit is flying for sure..all the "bad news that means higher prices".... They talk about "Months" for the port being shut down. I saw an interview with a guy from the port authority. He said a 500 ton-yes 500- heavy lift crane will be on site Saturday. The wreckage is localized. The immediate need is to open the channel and they don't have to even remove everything-I would think just get it pulled aside into the shallows along side the bridge. Smit Salvage is a huge company based in Holland also with equipment in Houston. would not surprise me if they were underway yesterday. It would not surprise me if the channel was opened in `10 days. Then anyone see the genius from one of the "elite" schools? Guy had a heavy euro accent but he said words to effect.."not a problem, we have other east coast ports and also big ports on west coast". Guess what...any thing going through an east coast port is sourced through that port because that is what the distance from the source for outbound or the distance for the destination of inbound goods makes Baltimore the most economical port. Bottom line the biggest disruption will be the loss of the bridge to vehicular traffic..but the Port will be operating very soon..again my uneducated guess. So Sleepy Joe, you can stop blaming bad economic news on this tragedy. And KSC, you might be right on a an electronic hack but I would bet lousy fuel or bad fuel system maintenance will be the cause..can't imagine the filter system on a huge marine diesel is as simple as a Ph-8 Fram😎

FWD Thx for the radio info. Explains it all. I saw another clip that said they declared a Mayday with just 90 seconds before impact so quick action on PD in stopping traffic when they did was huge-no cars went in water just the poor souls working. Had this been a DOT crew they probably would have had radio contact but contractor crew-doubtful.
-
Nice! V-8 right? I'm confused though-you said 401. the big Binder V-8 was a 549, then there was a 478? then smallest one?? 401? ALSO ONE OF THE BIG SIXES WAS A 401???

the guy on "Whats going on in Shipping" had a screen image that showed ship in channel at 8 knots...that equals 9.2 MPH . Ship is 100,000 tonner..."talk about Mass in Motion". My first thought too on dropping anchor (s) and one report said one was dropped...but how close to bridge-plus anchors have to "bite".
-
Correct on power loss before impact. What I don't understand is, they managed to shut bridge down before impact but did not notify the crew that was on bridge patching potholes?? You can see their flashing yellow hazard lights as drifting ship was approaching. 3:55 just now Maryland gov is praising effort to shut down bridge access before impact. Confirms what I'm saying .... what about repair crew????
-
Two tugs got it away from berth. Looks like once ship was in channel it was on its own.
-
Go to "what's going on with Shipping". This is a guy who knows his stuff - no bullshit. From what he is saying this was a power failure as evidenced by heavy smoke when they refired. A real tragedy., Now we have to listen to Pete Buttigieg who usually doesn't know his ass from third base.
