Excellent post coming from someone who is on the frontline dealing with the customer. GE sacked their CEO after one year- Time for Ford's board to take a look at the "cerebral thinker" that is running the show. And while many blame Fields for lack of new models, seems to me the decisions being made now about what choices the customer has have nothing to do with Fields.

Be patient..Hackett should be issuing another profound bullsh*t statement on "fitness" and that will drive it back down!

I have to agree. Between the F-Max and the EV, you would think they would generate some sort of press release about these two accomplishments.. In particular when the financial press gets absolutely nothing positive out of Hackett's buzz word statements. With Tesla and Nickola getting a lot of attention with their respective electrification efforts , a good opportunity for Ford to get some press-or should I say "lost opportunity".

And I would imagine there must be some policy in place that clearly was violated. End result we SHOULD see some disciplinary action taken.

Thx Kevin. It actually surprises me that the used "new" ones I see in the used truck rags have as high an asking price as I'm seeing-then again you can always "ask". Again what a formula for disaster-a marriage of two firms that both managed to piss off a whole lot of customers over engine issues-then they decide to get together!

Too bad..that they won't suffer. Only weapon we really have with regimes like this is our economic clout-unless of course we want to pursue a military option and I don't think many want that. Hopefully economic actions will encourage Iran's people to wake up to just what the religious zealots are doing to their country.

Thx Kevin-hope some of that vertical integration shows up here given fact that is primary reason why the 6.7/ torqueshift is the only diesel combo in 650/750. then again the "tariff war" makes a Turkish built power train unlikely at this point. Will be interesting to see if that F-Max ends up in Brazil.

Kevin, I'm assuming your positive view about Ford's commitment is focused on EU, Middle East, Africa- everything but US. And is that commitment 90% Otosan and 10% Dearborn? I've read that Turkey is where all of Ford's heavy truck engineering takes place. As I look at 650/750 I have to think "Heavy" means just that-class 8. Do you see/hear anything that suggests anything that goes on with Otosan trickles back to the US? Or Brazil for that matter. It amazes me that the Turks can put something like this together when you consider that Dearborn can't afford to spend what would have to be chump change to offer an alternative power train to the Power Stroke/ Torqueshift combo. And by the way-video not in English but the "suit" in the slide is speaking against a background with English graphics in background. Or was the picture with the "suit" taken at the show?

Crazy thought, but think of the money the EU countries are spending dealing with all these people. Many claim they are leaving their countries because they have "no opportunities". The useless UN should start a program to spur development in these countries. The EU would be far better off funding such an effort rather than rescuing them from the Mediterranean, trying to keep them contained, then arguing about who is "not taking their fair share.". And then of course the ongoing cost of public safety, welfare etc. Oh George Soros?? If you get pissed watching the dumbass Progressive Insurance ads, I do believe Soros is a major stockholder

Paul-thx-I did not see that mph read. I looked at it again and noted he had been consistently at 58/59 as he was gaining on the dump. At instant Volvo is on the brakes KW was at 54. Bottom line KW did NOT hit any wreckage-but my point has been, had he backed off much sooner, the guy in Volvo may have pulled into left lane. And by the way, looking at the video again I would say including the two cars he hit, there were no more than 4 or 5 car lengths total in front of him at moment of impact. And again, "may have pulled into left lane". Big IF- guy in Volvo owns this one big time but going back to my days when I would have to weigh in on "avoidable/unavoidable" big question was always not just was other guy at fault, but also ..."what could you have done to avoid this".

Exactly. Both of them not paying attention. The guy in the left lane backs off seconds before the crash. But very early on you see quick lane changes up ahead.

Well as I see it, the guy in the hammer lane (T-600 hood??) was not paying attention. You can clearly see the right lane is bunching up. When I see that, I'm ready for that guy ahead of me to throw his left turn signal on-and if I don't see that I'm even more cautious that .."this jerk doesn't see what is going on". Yes his rate of closure changed but only in the last hundred feet or so when he finally woke up to what was going on. I called my wife over to look at this-not a "truck driver"but over the years I have pointed out various aspects of the Smith System when she was driving-I said..."watch this". Her first comment.."guy in white truck wasn't paying attention either". She then proceeded to give me a speech about distracted driving caused by loud music😉

Hah! My thought exactly-in particular with respect to the Ram pick ups. seems like I see far more Rams that are not that old that have signifant rust in particular around wheel wells. Nothing like the old days though. "They don't build them like the used too"...Agree and thank God!
