  1. Jim- cut the crap-no more jokes -we are done with winter!
  2. Point of info for any club members- No meeting this Saturday- rescheduled for Sat April 14th-unless we get another Nor'easter!!!! Bob
  3. Looking good Rich- where is the flooring????
  4. This is what a lot of us thought was going to be announced at Work Truck Show. Did I see a standard transmission??? Nice size!
  5. Kevin-looks like the Navistar logo on the grill.
  6. Well if its Sunbelt you know there are a lot more out there!
  7. Just did a search on this chief's comments. Can't find anything. If this in fact was said, it would be on the national news it is so outrageous. Nothing.
  8. On second thought this asshole is playing to the galleries. This city is home to Univ. of Texas. It is what you would expect a political hack would come up with to appeal to the liberal community in this university town. But for sure, when I first read this my first thoughts were ..what do the families of those who were killed by this POPS think of this "chief's " statement.
  9. You have got to be kidding. Hopefully the people of Austin have started a campaign to get rid of this stupid shithead,
  10. EJ Beautiful-who built/owns these-great detail
  11. Note the "Super Singles" on this B-81-or were they called " duplex" back then. My first assignment to a field location in 1966- Albany NY and garage had a bunch of these leaning against a wall-an abandoned trial!
  12. Think of the remediation alone to get rid of the asbestos and everything else that is in it, that has been declared hazardous since it was built. Then again, when some of us take pride in supporting one of the last corporate giants that you can relate to in terms of having a personal face, The downside is that someone at the top-like Bill Ford- can support a decision like this that makes no sense-in particular when they are spending a lot of money on a new complex how many miles away? Once again a decision that seems to be based on a desire to keep the "autonomous/electric" crowd separate from the old school.
  13. Well the good news is they at least mentioned 650-750 with some planned improvements. And unrelated to this piece, looks like they are chipping away at Dodges class 4 and 5 numbers. But the new GM class 4 and 5's should make for interesting competition-to say nothing of the rebadged Isuzus being sold by Chevy dealers. Ford needs that small Cargo -with updates-and soon-with an inline diesel.
  14. Well another good example-when GM was offering the 8500 with a tandem axle, you know they had a GVW over 33,000 lbs. Yet they never posted any sales figures for class 8. How does that work? Likewise, Ford offers an F-750 with a 37,000 lb GVW. Class 8 for sure based on the numbers-yet you'll never see a class 8 sale for Ford. (Then again I'VE NEVER SEEN an F-750 advertised in any of the dealer rags with a 37,000 lb tag) I have seen plenty of 8500 GM tandems however.
  15. Rich-bring a skidder too because there is a big tree across the road up! This is why we need a web site.
  16. Any club members out there. The Saturday Meeting is canceled as Bill S's house still has no power. Bob
  17. Picture of plane I saw was I believe an SBD ( Dauntless). I guess at that depth there is very little oxygen in water and that is why they don't completely deteriorate?
  18. EJ- thx-I think Leo B drove one of those. I will go through the archives though as I do believe I've got some good pics in Socony colors.
  19. Wonder why no mention of class 4, 5? I thought that was what the GM JV was all about??
  20. JIm- for sure-gotta have a blue oval or a bulldog or green paint!- but have to pay attention to th competition-they have raised the bar IMO
  21. For sure-Ford and Ram will have to compete just on price-like they did when GM was building th old 4500/5500's
  22. For sure. If I were a Ford dealer tonight I would be raising holy hell within the dealer organization. Medium is growing thanks to changing distribution patterns as well as the need to maximize under 26,000 gvw to avoid the CDL issue and doesn't look like the are doing anything but continuing to piss away market share.
