Kevin-Hit the nail on the head-brain dead marketers. The only US builder of class 1-7 and they do nothing to wave that flag. Saw some recent Ford Commercial Truck ads that show a new 650/750 bucket truck in background and the truck is visible for like a half second. What are these dummies thinking?

Kevin -No argument on your points on the negatives associated with front discharge. But like I said, with a driver controlling the chute direction, discharge rate and following a form with the vehicle, there is no way you are going to compete with a rear discharge-and for sure no one wants to pay for a pump on say the typical residential foundation pour.

I guess if you are backing up to a concrete pump, a rear discharge does the job-and at a cost effective up front price. But it seems around here most of the new purchases are front discharge. Once contractors get used to the ease of working with front discharges, they don't want some guy backing on to the job site and jumping into the truck every two minutes to reposition. I'm sure in the big fleets can justify a good mix of front/rear but it seems the smaller guys have to make the decision as to what works best for MOST of their customers. You can still feed a pump with a front discharge AND the residential foundation pour goes a lot quicker. Much more flexibility but for sure at a higher upfront cost.

Again, don't see how this can work. 5000 trucks a month in class 7 with 6 builders and about the same in class 6. And from a logistics perspective you are trucking components all over the place and two "builders each have to get their "cut" ( Alkane and Agrale). Or are these guys getting some sort of govt. handout from the state? To say nothing of the preference for conventionals in the US. If if the cab over market was that attractive, think Ford would be bringing the class 6/7 Cargo components in from Brazil??

Amen-thank you Amazon! And every 4th truck is a Swift going to the Amazon DC, and every 3rd is a JBH container headed to the same location, etc etc. Oh-and the 7th? a drop deck loaded with Bridgeports coming from a plant that just shut down-he is headed to an auction site! Sad state of affairs.

Thx Jim- I knew they were not in good shape-shocker to hear they were buying used tractors. Wow how times have changed remember the old days in the late 60's early 70's when it seemed every fifth truck on I-90 was a "Big R"!

As always-"Caveat Emptor".."let the buyer beware". This outfit frequently posts large quantities of 24 " rubber. I believe a lot of them were Chinese . This is the first time I have seen Goodyears advertised.

Good point-and closer look says the conveyors look like they are sitting on temp cribbing. Also doesn't look like standard rail gauge

Agree-off loading hopper cars-looks like maybe early stages of installation because you would think they would have pits under cars where the conveyors would be positioned???

Likewise congrats-and Hatcity right on! 40+ years ago as a terminal mgr, I would have all these guys come in with their new "class 1 ( a)"s. and with no experience looking for a haz mat job no less. My speech was always the same-in short.."get yourself some road experience in a straight job"

Don't see any chains lying on deck-would have to think enough of an angle and too much "steel on steel" on ramp/beavertail and off it went??

Kevin, Thx-even a blind man like me can see the rear dif! I can't believe that conventional configurations don't make it even in these heavy off road applications. The premium cost for these high tilt configurations has to be significant.

wow- $875,000 per copy! Just wondering-all that "blast survivability" equipment, but would a burst from a AK-47 through the engine compartment disable this vehicle? I can't imagine there is any armor plate under that fiberglass nose or is there?
