President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday that stops taxpayer money from going to illegal aliens. The White House says President Trump is “committed to safeguarding Federal public benefits for American citizens who are truly in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans.” The President is demanding "corrective action" to stop “all taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens.” Currently, children are entitled to a free K-12 public education regardless of immigration status under a 1982 Supreme Court ruling. Noting a 1996 law overhauling welfare benefits that denies most illegal aliens public benefits, President Trump says “over the last four years, the prior administration repeatedly undercut” it. The executive order directs all departments and agencies to identify federal benefit spending that is inconsistent with the 1996 welfare law. He says the Biden administration's border crisis resulted “in the improper expenditure of significant taxpayer resources.” The president is taking action against his predecessors use of parole to allow people into America on a temporary basis, including the controversial CBP One app used at the Mexican border that allowed 900,000 migrants in. More than 500,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans who flew to the US at their own expense with a financial sponsor took advantage of the program. President Trump immediately ended both programs. Biden also granted parole to nearly 300,000 people from Ukraine and Afghanistan. People granted parole for over one year are considered “qualified non-citizens,” making them eligible for income-based benefits after five years including Medicaid and the Children´s Health Insurance Program (which provides coverage to children in families that earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid). The order also directs federal department and agencies to identify all federally funded programs currently providing any financial benefits to illegal immigrants in the country and put a stop to it. The executive order “ensures that Federal funds to states and localities will not be used to support sanctuary policies or assist illegal immigration.” It also includes a mandate to improve benefit eligibility verification to make sure benefits are not going to immigrants in the US illegally.

In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked Biden’s Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan, which would have transferred student loan debt from borrowers to taxpayers. The decision by the appeals court came after seven Republican-led states filed a lawsuit against the Department of Education’s SAVE plan and argued that Biden had no authority to establish the SAVE plan, and that he had been trying to find a roundabout way to forgive student debt after the Supreme Court blocked his sweeping debt cancellation plane in June 2023 ending a $430 billion debt writeoff. “The Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan is the newest income-driven repayment (IDR) plan,” the Federal Student Aid website says. “Like other IDR plans, the SAVE Plan calculates your monthly payment amount based on your income and family size. In addition, the SAVE Plan has unique benefits that will lower payments for many borrowers.” The University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Wharton budget model estimated that the SAVE Plan would incur a net cost of $475 billion over the 10-year budget window, $200 billion of that cost will come from payment reduction for the $1.64 trillion in loans already outstanding in 2023, and 53 percent of the current loan volume will move to SAVE after it goes active in July 2024, implying that about $869 billion will be subject to enhanced subsidies under SAVE. In February 2024, while over 150,000 people who had taken out student loans were informed that all or part of their student loans would be forgiven, the SAVE Plan was really a transfer of the debt to the American taxpayer.
