( Cultural decay and declining standards of behavior in America ) Meet the 23-year-old armed man shot and killed by a Milwaukee police officer, whose death sparked riots and unrest in Milwaukee. “I'm not going to say he was an angel.” said Smith's godmother, Katherine Mahmoud. Police have identified the dead man as Sylville K Smith, previously charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety for his involvement in a shooting last year. Both Smith and the police officer who shot him are black. During a press conference, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said a photo shows 'without question' Smith had a gun in his hand. Barrett said that Smith had 'more firepower than the officer', and his handgun was loaded with 23 rounds, which he refused to drop when ordered by police. Milwaukee Police Chief Edward A Flynn said officers wore body cameras as they approached the suspicious vehicle, and within 20 to 25 seconds Smith, who had a lengthy rap sheet, was dead. Smith's father, Patrick Smith, said he blames himself for his son's death. 'When they see the wrong role model, this is what you get. 'Being on the street, doing things of the street life: Entertaining, drug dealing and pimping and they’re looking at their dad like "he’s doing all these things". 'I got out of jail two months ago, but I’ve been going back and forth in jail and they see those things so I’d like to apologize to my kids because this is the role model they look up to. On Sunday after consulting with Governor Scott Walker the Milwaukee County sheriff David Clarke asked for help from the National Guard after violence broke out in Milwaukee in response to police shooting Smith. Clarke said a repeat of the previous night's violence on the city's north side cannot be allowed.

"People should and do trust me" - Hillary Clinton
kscarbel2 replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
August 14, 2016 Members of Congress will soon receive notes from Hillary Clinton's interview with the FBI over her private email server and they could be sent as early as Monday. The FBI does not have a complete transcript of the interview, FBI Director James Comey told Congress in long testimony earlier this summer. [One is supposed to believe that the FBI, arguably the world’s leading intelligence organization, did not record the interview] But members of Congress will have access to “notes” taken during the interview. Several Republican lawmakers have requested the information after Comey's testimony. Comey has noted that Hillary Clinton was not under oath. Politico first reported that the Obama administration was debating how to release the documents, over concern that the records are politically sensitive. Clinton spoke with the FBI for more than three hours during the bureau's investigation of her use of her private email server as secretary of state. Ultimately, Comey strongly chastised Clinton’s use of the server and said she and her staff likely put sensitive information at risk. But he said there was no precedent for recommending criminal charges and the Justice Department agreed there was no criminal case to pursue. -
Cruiseliner headlight panel

The part description will say "pocket". Don't worry about it.......this is the fiberglass headlamp mounting panel that you want. It carried that description in the price book since day one. Not the best description. For the headlamp bucket assembly, I believe the original Mack Western number supercedes to a 2MO46P3. -
In the hands of a sharp pilot, the Bristol Beaufighter was a deadly tool. Paul, I believe the U.S. Army Air Corps was FAR better than the U.S. Air Force that replaced it in 1947. The Army Air Corps, like the U.S. Marines, could appreciate the need to support the ground troops. The performance of the Air Force has always been lacking, and has no commitment (mandate) to supporting the troops on the ground. That U.S. Navy fighter pilots can fly circles around Air Force fighter pilots is no secret.

Yes, we have built set-forward steer axle models over the years. Where there is a solid business case, naturally we can engineer anything. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/45692-the-north-american-style-axle-forward-scania-coes/#comment-336803 As for the Mack MH Ultra-Liner, there is no doubt in my mind that it was the most advanced COE ever produced by a U.S. truckmaker, so much so that it could easily hold its own today had it been evolved forward. The K200 and Argosy are superb COEs, but a 2016 Ultra-Liner would........naturally, be superior.

7-month-old boy dies after being left in hot car The Houston Chronicle / August 13, 2016 A seven-month-old boy died after being left all day in a hot sport utility vehicle in a San Antonio-area Walmart parking lot. The baby's father, who works at the store in the suburb of Helotes, told officers that he forgot to drop his son off at day care before going to work about 6.15am Friday, said Helotes police Captain Anthony Burges. The father found his child dead after finishing work and returning to the SUV about 3pm.

7-year-old Ohio boy tried to sell toy for food Associated Press / August 13, 2016 A 7-year-old boy in Ohio tried to sell his toy dog to get money for food. "We heard about the boy from a concerned man who came into the police station and said there was a small child carrying a stuffed animal in a busy section of Franklin," Franklin Police Officer Steve Dunham said of the incident August 7. When officers went to the area, Dunham spotted the boy in front of a pharmacy and got out of his car to speak with him. The boy was really nervous at first, Dunham said. "I think he thought he would get in trouble," Dunham said. "He told me he was hungry and was trying to get money for food." “It broke my heart,” Dunham told WLWT. “He told me he was trying to sell his stuffed animal to get money for food because he hadn't eaten in several days.” Dunham then took the boy to a nearby Subway restaurant, where they each got a sandwich, Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman said. Then they headed to the police station, where they said a prayer together and ate their dinner. The officers who went to investigate the boy's home reported it "was in deplorable condition and there were other children there. They found garbage and liquor bottles everywhere, and there was a strong smell of cat urine. Four other boys -- ages 11, 12, 15 and 17 -- also lived in the house. The parents, who were home at the time, were each charged with five counts of child neglect. They pleaded not guilty in court August 9 and have a pretrial conference scheduled for September. "I'm very proud of my officers for what they did, but officers across the nation go above and beyond every single day," Whitman said. "We just happened to be put in the limelight. You can find stories like this everywhere with police officers every day. That's why we get into this business, to help people." Child Protective Services contacted another family member to pick up the boys. The boys' parents were not jailed. The children remain in the care of relatives. Franklin is north of Cincinnati, in southwestern Ohio.

Associated Press / August 14, 2016 This Saturday, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, protestor reacted violently after a policeman shot and killed a 23-year-old man at a stoplight. The man was armed, had a police record, and had 23 rounds of ammunition on hand. After the incident over 100 protestors gather. They through rocks at policemen and fired their guns. They smashed police cars and hit a police officer with a brick. The incident started Saturday afternoon when two officers stopped two people who were in a car in the north side, according to the Milwaukee Police Department. Shortly after, both car occupants fled on foot as officers pursued them. During the chase, an officer shot one of the two -- a 23-year-old man who was armed with a handgun. "He (the officer) ordered that individual to drop his gun, the individual did not drop his gun," Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said. "He had the gun with him and the officer fired several times." The suspect, 23, was shot twice -- in the arm and chest. The suspect’s handgun was stolen during a burglary in Waukesha in March. The victim of that burglary reported 500 rounds of ammunition were also stolen with the handgun. “This is a warning cry,” Milwaukee alderman Khalif Rainey told reporters. “Black people in Milwaukee are tired. They are tired of living under this oppression.” .

You say that you're not knocking COE's, but in fact you are when you say "COE's are not a truck that you want to live in on the road". I respect your personal past opinion.......of course. Many a man lived on the road in Mack F-models, Cruise-Liners and Ultra-Liners, and loved their trucks (particularly the V8-powered units). Fast forward to the state-of-the art Scania COE that we have today, there is no better environment for "living on the road" (and the V8 is a joy).

14 people murdered in California shooting, 17 injured (updated)

Comments on Yahoo about the article above: "Members of the Bangladeshi Muslim community served by the mosque said they want the shootings to be treated as a hate crime. More than 100 people attended a rally Saturday night and chanted "We want justice!"" Ask yourself why those people never protests when: -Boko haram abducted the girls in Nigeria -Sudan death sentence of a woman being accused of 'apostasy' -IS bloody murderous rampage across Syria and Iraq, murdered, destroyed and pillaged everything on their way, Christians and other minorities convert, leave or death -Women are stoned to death(most recently two incidents in Syria and a pregnant woman in Pakistan -British soldier being slain by Muslim immigrant converts in the streets of London -Daily nonstop killings in Syria -Daily nonstop killings around the world by Muslims - Muslims from all across Europe attend terrorists in actions -Muslims said that Europe will soon be Islamisized. -So on and so forth....... My answer: They are the product of the cult ideology preaching and teaching that they are engaged in a endless war until all the world will follow their ideology and terror is a one of the tactical tools to be used. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- They can come together to be outraged at some imam killing but strangely quiet when hundreds perhaps thousands of innocent people get slaughtered by Muslims. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the name of Islam, Boko Haram is turning Nigeria into a blood bath. In the name of Islam, ISIS is beheading thousands of people and proudly releasing videos about it. In the name of Islam, thousands are being slaughtered in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and so on. In the name of Islam, the whole free world is wrestling with the Islamist. In the name of Islam, you would think Muslims around the world would be demonstrating in the streets by the tens of thousands demanding that the bloodshed stop. In the name of Islam, you would think Muslims around the world would be lining up in recruitment centers to go fight the Islamist. But you publish one cartoon and assassins are sent in sovereign lands to bypass their laws and commit massacres. Muslims anywhere on earth wages mass destruction, chaos and murder, they don't even question the cartoons which by the way they are the exact depiction of their "prophet"(he's nothing of the sort) By their silence on all of these atrocities and mass killing, you see where their priorities lie. It’s amazing how 3000 years ago, Xerxes sent armies over the Aegean sea to exterminate the idea of democracy and freedom. Today, people from the same regions are trying to accomplish the same. 1.6 billion Muslims around the world, they say only a "handful" are doing the slaughtering and the rest are silent. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many regions pray and worship yet the Muslim religion draws too much negative attention to themselves. Remember you are in the USA yet you and yor family do not want to obey USA laws and customs and those in power in the USA say it is okay for you and your family to break laws and to make us bend the laws. For example I must take everything off the pass though a building with heavy security even my shoes yet you are covered and you complained about removing your head dressing and right in front of me received a free pass since the officer was afraid since you were causing a science looking like you were once again being discriminated against. Yet this time I removed my shoes, hats , opened my briefcase, removed anything from my pockets and you were long gone. You come here with your families and while you are at work your wife here illegally on a expired visa and kids here also demand a free education from our USA school system and your wife is not speaking the English language and USA money and tax payer money must pay for a speaker to be at the school to speak to your wife and teach your children English because you feel like other cultures that come into the USA with expired passports, work visas, and illegally and feel the USA owes you everything and we in the USA give you everything thinking you will become a USA citizen and vote those in office that are helping you so much. You and your family force people out of their homes and communities because you force feed your religion and culture on others. Look around you and you will see that Christian, Baptist, Jewish, Buddist, Jehovah's Witness, and other religions have been living in peace and harmony for a very long time in the same neighborhood and kids together in the same USA public schools for a very long time. You refuse to allow yourself and your kids to play and associate with others that have different religious thinking and that is wrong. Our community learned to get along with each other and learn each other's religion and culture and it worked well for us before you and religion and culture started to tear us apart and change our views. We need to have you and yor family adapt to USA customs and our way of life. Remember you are in the USA and we should not change for you since this is how we are so love the USA or leave it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talk about "intolerance". Why would the Muslim Community "DEMAND" the crime to be seenas "HATE CRIME" when we don't know the motive and who killed them? Maybe it was a hit job from back home. Bangladesh is ripe with Hatred and Violence and it may have come here. Let’s find out first what happened. I don't believe in this Hate crime BS, Crime is naturally hateful towards the victim. There’s no such thing as a "LOVE CRIME". Everyone wants to be special. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why is it when a Muslim kills infidels it's Work Place Violence? Now, if this guy is an infidel they'll call it a Hate Crime. -
14 people murdered in California shooting, 17 injured (updated)

Associated Press / August 14, 2016 Police in New York City are searching for the man who fatally shot the leader of a mosque and a friend as they left afternoon prayers, setting off fear and anguish among the community's Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants. Although police said no motive had been established for the killing of Imam Maulama Akonjee, 55, and 64-year-old Thara Uddin Saturday afternoon near the Al-Furqan Jame Masjid mosque, community members worried the slayings could be rooted in intolerance. "There's nothing in the preliminary investigation to indicate that they were targeted because of their faith," said Deputy Inspector Henry Sautner of the New York Police Department. The imam's daughter, Naima Akonjee, said her father — described by worshippers as a pious man who gave compelling readings from the Quran — didn't "have any problems with anyone." She said the imam and Uddin were close friends who always walked together to the mosque from their homes on the same street. Police said the men were shot in the head as they left the mosque in the OzonePark section of Queens shortly before 2 p.m. They later were pronounced dead. Sautner said that video surveillance showed they were approached from behind by a man a man in a dark polo shirt and shorts who shot them and then fled south on 79th Street with the gun still in his hand. Police released a sketch early Sunday of a dark-haired, bearded man wearing glasses. Police said witnesses described the shooter as a man with a medium complexion. No arrests had been made by early Sunday. Members of the Bangladeshi Muslim community served by the mosque said they want the shootings to be treated as a hate crime. More than 100 people attended a rally Saturday night and chanted "We want justice!" The Council on American-Islamic Relations, an advocacy group, held a news conference near the shooting scene, where Kobir Chowdhury, a leader at another local mosque, said, "Read my lips: This is a hate crime" directed at Islam. "We are peace-loving." Sarah Sayeed, a member of Mayor Bill de Blasio's staff who serves as a liaison to Muslim communities, attended the rally. "I understand the fear because I feel it myself," she said. "I understand the anger. But it's very important to mount a thorough investigation." Letitia James, who as the city's public advocate serves as a watchdog over city agencies, said in a statement, "This violence is as alarming as it is senseless." She urged the police department to "vigorously" investigate the slayings. Members of the community had felt animosity lately, with people cursing while passing the mosque, said worshipper Shahin Chowdhury. He said he had advised people to be careful walking around, especially when in traditional clothing. He called the imam a "wonderful person" with a voice that made his Koran readings especially compelling. Worshipper Millat Uddin said Akonjee had led the mosque for about two years and was a very pious man. "The community's heart is totally broken," said Uddin, who is not related to Thara Uddin. "It's a great misery. It's a great loss to the community and it's a great loss to the society." Naima Akonjee, 28, one of the imam's seven children, said she rushed to her parents' home after the shooting. She said her father was a caring man who would call her just to check up on whether she had eaten properly. Neighbors also described Uddin as a pious and thoughtful man who prayed five times a day and went to the mosque. While at home, they said he would water his garden and one next door. "A very honest, wise man ... (And) a very helpful guy," said neighbor Mohammed Uddin, who is not a relation of Thara Uddin's. -
New Mexico police officer murdered at traffic stop August 13, 2016 A man charged with "willful and deliberate first-degree murder" of a police officer in New Mexico is also wanted for murder in Ohio, authorities said. Jesse Hanes and two other suspects were arrested in the shooting death of of Hatch Police Officer Jose Chavez during a traffic stop Friday, said Kelly Jameson, spokeswoman for the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office. Hanes, 38, is also wanted on a murder charge in Ohio, his last known address. Chavez, 33, was killed after he pulled over a vehicle in Hatch on Friday. Another Hatch officer had just arrived at the traffic stop to assist the first officer when a passenger from the vehicle exited and fired shots. The other Hatch officer returned fire at the gunman's car, a silver Lexus, which fled the scene. A third responding officer gave chase to the Lexus while the second officer called for paramedics and assisted Chavez. Officer Chavez was rushed to a hospital, where he died following surgery. The suspects fled the scene and traveled south on Interstate 25, at times exceeding speeds of 100 mph. The assisting officer tried to pursue them without success. About 25 minutes after the initial traffic stop, the suspects exited at a rest stop, where one carjacked a red Chevrolet Cruze. Its owner was shot during the carjacking, and was transported to the hospital. Sheriff's deputies saw the Cruze and pursued the car, deploying a tire-deflating device that successfully flattened its tires. Deputies surrounded the Cruze while the driver briefly barricaded himself inside. He then exited the vehicle and was observed to have suffered a gunshot wound to the upper right thigh. Hanes is currently hospitalized. Chavez was a two-year veteran of the Hatch Police Department. The Chillicothe Gazette reported that Hanes is wanted in the death of 62-year-old Theodore Timmons, who was found shot multiple times in his Londonderry, Ohio, home on July 25. The newspaper said another man, James D. Nelson II, is also wanted in Timmons' death and was also arrested with Hanes in New Mexico. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Police officer ambushed in Georgia August 14, 2016 A police officer was shot dead while responding to a call of a suspicious person in south Georgia. The shooting occurred Saturday night after the officer, Tim Smith, got the call in a residential area in Eastman, special agent Scott Whitley of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said. While on patrol, Smith encountered the subject and exited his car. He was then fatally shot. There is no suspect in custody. Eastman is in DodgeCounty, about 130 miles from Atlanta. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Police officer ambushed in New York August 14, 2016 A man stabbed a police officer who was responding to a 911 call Saturday in Long Island, New York. When police arrived at the scene, they were met by a man armed with knives, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The man stabbed the officer in the face before another officer shot the suspect once in the abdomen. The suspect was hospitalized in critical condition. The stabbed officer was transported to hospital, where he had facial surgery and is expected to survive. The attacks are under investigation.

Whenever I think of our incompetently planned foray into Iraq spurred by several mad men (I did not mention Cheney and Rumsfeld), I'm reminded of what that famous American Hawkeye Pierce once said: "I just don't know why they're shooting at us. All we want to do is bring them democracy and white bread, transplant the American Dream: freedom, achievement, hyperacidity, affluence, flatulence, technology, tension, the inalienable right to an early coronary sitting at your desk while plotting to stab your boss in the back. That's entertainment!"

"People should and do trust me" - Hillary Clinton
kscarbel2 replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
The Wall Street Journal / August 13, 2016 A hacker posted cellphone numbers and other personal information of nearly 200 current and former congressional Democrats on Friday, the latest public disclosure of sensitive records this election season. The hacker, or group of hackers, going by the name “Guccifer 2.0” said the records were stolen as part of a breach of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. A number of files were posted onto Guccifer 2.0’s website, including a spreadsheet that has information, such as phone numbers and email addresses, for 193 people. The cellphone numbers of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California and Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland were among the information posted. A White House spokesman declined to comment. Word began to spread Friday evening among Democrats whose personal information was posted, and several became furious, a congressional staffer said. The spreadsheet also included many personal email addresses and cellphone numbers for the lawmakers’ chiefs of staffs, schedulers, and legislative directors. Hours after the information was posted online, an email list-serve run by the Democratic Caucus sent a notice to recipients informing them to “change passwords to all email accounts that you use” and also to “strongly consider changing your non-House email addresses if possible.” The posting of the cellphone numbers and personal email addresses of members of Congress has national security implications. Included in the spreadsheet were the personal information of members of the House Intelligence, Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees. Foreign spies could use that information to try to intercept sensitive communications. The DCCC breach was reported late last month. In June, Guccifer claimed responsibility for hacking the Democratic National Committee and posting an opposition research document of Donald Trump online. The Guccifer 2.0 Twitter account said late Friday that it would provide “the major trove” of stolen information from the DCCC, including emails, to WikiLeaks, which has already published information from a similar breach of the Democratic National Committee. The same Twitter account sent a message to The Wall Street Journal on Friday evening that said the hacker had acted alone, not as part of a team. In another message to the Journal, Guccifer 2.0 wrote, “I won’t disclose my whereabouts for the safety reasons. I have a full archive of docs and emails from the dccc server.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The letter: Guccifer 2.0 hacked DCCC Hi all! It’s time for new revelations now. All of you may have heard about the DCCC hack. As you see I wasn’t wasting my time! It was even easier than in the case of the DNC breach. As you see the U.S. presidential elections are becoming a farce, a big political performance where the voters are far from playing the leading role. Everything is being settled behind the scenes as it was with Bernie Sanders. I wonder what happened to the true democracy, to the equal opportunities, the things we love the United States for. The big money bags are fighting for power today. They are lying constantly and don’t keep their word. The MSM are producing tons of propaganda hiding the real stuff behind it. But I do believe that people have right to know what’s going on inside the election process in fact. The leaked documents - https://guccifer2.wordpress.com/2016/08/12/guccifer-2-0-hacked-dccc/ -
The COE became extinct in the U.S. owing to the introduction of inefficient new weight laws by bureaucrats clueless about efficient transport. The windshield's price is lower than a Volvo FH's. Based in Scandinavia, Scania knows a bit about what a truck has to contend with during the winter months. Those rear drive axle fenders are "int'l standard", a proven design in every type of operation. Have you ever experienced them? I doubt any normal, rational driver or mechanic that would leave before taking the time to experience the truck. The old adage, "don't knock until you've tried it", applies here. The Scania is the best driving and most comfortable truck in the world, and it's legendary modular construction makes it a technician's dream. Have you sir driven a new Scania Streamline?
-
Watch this from 1:20 .
-
Thank you Leonardo, that's what I'm talking about. This absolutely beautiful burgundy-colored R 440 "Streamline" has an entirely different flavor from that red R500 "Highline" owner-driver truck, and what many U.S. customers would be more accustomed to (imagine if the MH Ultra-Liner had not been prematurely terminated).
-
This particular Scania is spec'd for a western European owner operator. Scania trucks, like those produced by its old partner Mack Trucks, are custom built. Thus, the final build result varies widely. A truck for Australia, or purpose-built for a U.S. fleet, wouldn't look like this.

That Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the nominees for (drum roll here)...................President of the United States, is final proof that it's all merely a charade. There is no way that the aristocracy, the powerful and very sharp people intensely focused every day on maintaining and increasing their wealth, would allow either of these dysfunctional people to run USA Inc. Would they allow them to hold the silver briefcase with the red button? NOT. As it was in the beginning with the founding fathers, the elite quietly push the buttons and pull the levers, while letting the masses "think" that they participate in the process. Look at it this way. If what you see is "actually" what we have, for example a dysfunctional congress of mostly 70+ year old men that can't make (good and timely) decisions, well............then the writing is on the wall.

MACK E6 350 2V REBUILD

So they can't repair a Mack truck? Or I should say, Volvo refuses to repair a "Mack" truck. -
Gentlemen, the masses, i.e. the common people, have been manipulated for centuries. This didn't begin yesterday. Obama didn't start it all (How can one forget the incompetent performance of Bush Jr., who was wasn't qualified to be more than a state governor, if that ? ). All I'm saying is, please look at the big picture. What we have today is an extension of what began in 1776. Ultimate power will always lie with the aristocracy (today's top 500 global business leaders, e.g. the Bilderberg Group). Our world's development, for example the creation of the European Union and NAFTA, is guided along by them to enhance their profitability.
