  1. Nice! There is a lot to work with there. If I didn't have one it would be mine. New wheels and tires on it are about half the asking price. If someone here gets it I got two fenders that are perfect to go on it in primer. Had then for my LTL but I have a really good set on it now.
  2. Wow! That Steering wheel looks like new, no cracks anywhere. Only my observation for Originality but it is on the wrong side of the truck
  3. This is your answer to the question Dayton or Bud hubs? Sorry for thinking you had Dayton hubs to go with Dayton rims. My misunderstanding. Just my ignorance but I have never come across a 24 inch Bud rim. 20 and 22 tube type,22.5 and 24.5 tubeless inch yes. But 24 inch no. You got a photo of the tire and rim?
  4. CEAT tires are on my truck and put on it about 15 years ago and are not made by CEAT anymore. The ML tires are available in the 11.00-24 size are from Specialty Tires of America and their contact info is: Main Office and Factory 1600 Washington Street Indiana, PA 15701 Get Directions Tel: 724-349-9010 Fax: 724-349-8192 That is all that I can help you with and I can not make it any more clear. You asked for 11.00-24 tires, now it is everything but 11.00-24 tires. No, you can not put a Budd rim of any size on a Dayton hub. You have to stay with a 24 inch Dayton rim because you have 24 inch hubs.... Period! The ONLY tire that will work in your application is a 24 inch tube type, Period. If you want to change to Budd hubs you have to change a lot of parts as I stated before. Take the truck to a tire shop and see what they have to say, start by asking if they change tube type split rims? Best of luck.
  5. No I do not mean 24.5 rims as they will not fit on 24 inch spoke hubs. What I am saying is changing to a new rim/tire size is a lot of work and finding the part for a 60 year old truck is not that easy ether. The easiest thing is replace the old tires with new ones of the same size and type. A tubeless tire can not be mounted on a tube type rim even with a tub, the lip is a different design. As fare as the STA tire it is period "time" correct for the age of your truck and you need to call STA to get price and availability, they may have front tires but only special order. The 10.00-22 tires that I run are around $450 a piece there which is not that high in my book. That cost is far less $$ and time than to convert everything over to a different size and type of hub "Budd type or spoke of a different size" if parts can be found. For a hobby truck these tire will be more than fine at lease for the rears. If nothing else is available for 11.00-24 fronts a capable tire shop can buff or cut a traction tire down to look correct for a steer tire for about $100 each. Glad to help
  6. I stated: Went through this whole thing over 15 years ago. There are no major brand american made tub type truck tires anymore. I wanted highway tires and do not know what you use your truck for. That is when the Ceat tires where put on my truck. As you indicated they do not make these tires anymore. This is the STA tire. Not a bad looking tire and similar to the Ceat's on my LTL, old truck old looking tire. LJ Is just as old maybe older. Your truck, your way but easiest thing to get new 11.00-24 rubber on it or change a lot of stuff to get a different tire size. Think those 325/95R24 are tubeless? Is the rim different to mount tube type tires opposed to tubeless?
  7. Went through this whole thing over 15 years ago. There are no major brand american made tub type truck tires anymore. I wanted highway tires and do not know what you use your truck for. Specialty Tires of America does have 11.00-24ML and 12.00-24ML sizes listed and not ridiculously priced. Speed rating is 50MPH for these tires. I really do not know of any truck that runs these tire capable of 50MPH. You did not specify what you are using the truck for. Regional/Vocational use the ML tire would be fine. There are Mining tires that are offered in these sizes as well and have a higher load rating but speed rating is about 20MPH. If you should fine Brand name tires they will be dated well over 10 years old and would you trust that old a tire on a commercial truck? The tires I was looking for were 10.00-22 at the time. Speed rating was 60-65MPH for highway use. Ceat in India was one of the only alternatives to China made Tyres, they spell it that way. Had to wait months for the Ceat's but they were round and are still on the truck. It's a hobby truck now and I would never consider running it loaded. The only 12.00-24 tube tires you may find are made in China now. The STA tires maybe made in China as well but it is your only option now. Around here there is only one or two places that will change split rim truck tires and it cost $$. Do places still do it by you?
  8. With all that is needed in a tank for you only a new one will work. Never seen a used tank without dents, or corrosion at least around the straps being used on a truck around Pennsylvania. Alumitank can make you a new one and you get everything you want. They really do make a nice tank and do what ever you specify. The second set of tanks on my Superliner were made by them and are perfect.
  9. I go be the old story I was told, so it is a really old story now. A dog is your best friend and being a best friend you never point your ass towards your friend only someone passing by. I'd rather have a dog lick me that have his ass in my face as with the mirrors! Same with the mudflaps. I have always pointed the faces in and was told that was correct by many people. That is why they made right and left facing bulldogs, Respect the drivers! I was told by one guy that they should be facing outward to bark at the passers by buy not correct, I like the other way just asses out and poop on them.
  10. This LTL has a 245" wheelbase. It lived it's life on the West Coast.
  11. Darton Sleeves may be your best bet, they made custom sleeves for one of my engines that a piston failed . Total Seal may make rings. Headgaskets?? Hard to find 20 years ago, Good Luck. I would not worry about originality if any parts are available at all.
  12. Hi welcome to BMT see your a newbie. I would suggest to start a new post with a topic that you choose. It is hard to help you if your post is in someone else's that has nothing to do with you want to talk about. Plus it distracts from the topic. I had a few 864's, 20 years ago and found that even then parts were hard to get and no one works on the rotary pumps anymore around here. When my B-755 was restored a 866 replaces the 864. Parts were available to rebuild the 865/866, back then. I don't think that would be a option now because of no parts for them as well. Maybe think of repowering with an E6. More torque, HP, reliability and parts are still available. Even a 237 would run circles around an 864. There is a set of std rod bearings on Ebay for an 864 for some time now.
  13. Pm me with photos and price. Thanks
  14. Like it! See the Mack A/C is working well. Vents open and windows down.
  15. Those sure do not look like anything for a B Model cab. Thing you need to call the supplier and ask them if they sent the right kit. Interior panels consist of a headliner and lower cab back panel that is about it.
  16. EZ Fix, More than likely you purchased with a credit card for the full amount including the core charge and possibly shipping & tax. Dispute the charge with your CC company, state the transaction was not complete. That a required refund has not been issued even though you returned the core/part some 30 days ago. They will immediately reverse the full charge amount. Start an investigation and get a response from Summit without you. You will get the $300 returned but it may take up to 30 days. Let Summit deal with the CC Company.
  17. OK, I heard of that auction several months ago. That was Skip McKean's Yellow Superliner. There was several other Mack up for auction from his retirement collection including tank trailers. Nice stuff for sure.
  18. Was it a Magnum or just a super clean Superliner? Photo's of it anywhere? Spec's?
  19. I normally do not keep taps on most everyone but the dogs and wife, kids are gone but still have Sunday dinner with us. But Rob always had something to say on just about everything. Then just nothing, hope he didn't just up and die on us.
  20. I second that on stock springs. Think I got Crane small block Chevy springs in my heads for increased RPM without float.
  21. Guess that is None, but why post None in the Trucks for Sale section if there is None. Would it be right to just not post if there is None? Come to think of it never heard of a None truck, interesting??
  22. There would have to be a doghouse modification to a B-615 to get the clearance around the turbo. It was a tight fit to put a 866 Thermodyne in my B755. No mods but tight. What did both of you do for the oil filters? The 865/866 standard twin spin on filters did not fit because of steering box location. I used the full flow remote Luberfinder and plumping off the retired 864. For power steering the only thing that worked for me was the hydraulic control valve on the drag link and slave on the tie rod setup because of no room for anything else. Don't know if that setup is still available. Need photos or they don't exist. 🙃
  23. Just for reference the firing order is numbered like a Ford V8. 1-4 on one side 5-8 on the other. What truck is it in an R or F would be my guess.
  24. Aftermarket R Model doors work and are the only new doors you will find unless there are a few forgotten in a warehouse somewhere. Even after market R doors are getting harder to get. They are just primed with no rust preventative measures. So the better you prep them before paint the longer they will last. As for fit it also depends on who is hanging them on your truck. A work truck will take less time that having a perfect fit on a restoration project. When restoring my B-Model I did get new doors from Mack (25 years ago). There were bare metal and had dolly and hammer work to door seal and edges to fit properly. Recently put a set of R doors on a truck, they are fine and do work. Will probably out last the rest of the cab. I got a few sets at that time. If you are looking I still got a set of new in the box aftermarket R doors, $400 a door plus the ride.
  25. That is a real low millage engine. Like a 1000 miles a year low. There are plenty of E-9 engine manuals on Ebay. I have seen a few 865/866 manuals over time. Get an E-9 manual as it is the big brother to an 865. The E-9 has the same valve adjustment procedure with the addition of the cross-bridge you would not use anyway, 865's don't have them all else is the same. 865 (2valve),E-9 (4valve)
