  1. I need the visor or what ever you call the part that goes between the dash and the instrument panel for both R700’s and for this truck I need the speedometer and dash panel, or a good tracing so I can mak my own panel that will only hold the tach, speedometer, air pressure gauge and a warning light
  2. We past that mark in 2018
  3. Yes, and there are more, but my wife says it’s unhealthy as she rolls her eyes and asks me what jewelry I am going to buy her i offered to get her a bulldog tattoo as I got her more wine
  4. As with all old trucks it has a few issues. The passenger side widows are smashed and need to be replaced, is r model glass readily available? The plastic dash panel with the tach is busted. I was thinking about putting in a standard speedometer and removing the tachograph.
  5. It is a 13 speed with a relocating shift tower they cleaned the cab so it looks better now
  6. The cable is not connected to the flip lever, it looks like it was just bent over the lever. That seems like a weak way to attach it, how much force would be in the flip lever? The lever moves freely, do I need to check it further? how many batteries should I put in the truck? Here in Southern California i have only run 2 batteries in my other trucks. Will 2 work or do I need 4?
  7. Last registered in 1993, used as a yard mule until 8 years ago. No brakes on the front axle and only spring brakes on the rear most axle, the disconnected air can probably leaks much worse than the one that is still connected. once it is running I will replace, or rebuild, all the air cans and see if that starts to correct the air loss issue tell me more about checking the rack and injector plungers
  8. Can anyone identify this 4 spring suspension? it is on a 1972 RS700 that I believe is a glider
  9. I wonder how radios would work with a positive ground since the outer shield on the antenna wire is grounded
  10. my 1985 came with a 4 valve
  11. The only problem with using a negative ground device in a positive ground vehicle is you have to make shore the case or mound is not grounded
  12. It’s amazing how one person’s leadership can change the course of a company
  13. Ouch, that hurts me just thing about it
  14. I have one in the truck but my friends rarely turn there’s on. back before cell phones that was all we had today some of the clubs insist on proprietary radios or GMRS, FRS radios
  15. Air the truck up, chock the wheels, release the parking brake and shut the engine off, then have someone hold the brake pedal and walk around and listen for the leak. the last one I have was a faulty valve on the front brakes
  16. Back in the 80’s I drove a 1975 DM600 roll off truck that started out as a power company truck. There were two air levers on the top of the dash, one was for the power divider lock and the other was differential lock. In the mud I would flip both levers and it would claw its ways through the mud turning all eight rear tires currently i have an ex US Navy truck that has Detroit lockers in each rear axle and the air lockable power divider. I also have a two axle truck with an air lockable rear axle. It is actually common for the tractors that were ordered to haul bottom dumps her in California
  17. The emergency, red, is connected to the tank with no valve to pressurize the tank the service, blue, is connected to the valve that is mounted on the tank. thr brake chambers are connected to the valve on the tank the valve on the tank serves as a relay since the service line does not produce enough air to operate the brakes by modern standards the maxi lines are connected directly to the tank the port location on the valve varies based on the valve
  18. Trump is just trump he does not appear to have changed dramatically from the real estate developer I remember from 30 years ago, unlike the career politicians he was or is running against
  19. You need a short bus to follow the rig around to transport the rescue personnel
  20. Quite normal look up COLA air brake test most trucks will loose air, it is only an issue if the compressor can’t keep up. I don’t start chasing the leak until it happens over a very long lunch
  21. Was there paint, rust, corrosion or other crap on the fitting or was it worn away to a smaller size?
  22. Garrison can rebuild or remanufacture it. the end piece that the tie rod screws into is NLA if you pm me your email address I can send you the manuals
  23. Is it the cylinder that connects the steering box to the pitman arm that is leaking? This is actually the control valve. this is a garrison control and to the right of the fittings it says garrison, has the part number and date stamped in the body.
